– As noted, the main event for next month’s WWE No Mercy pay-per-view will see WWE World Champion AJ Styles defend against John Cena and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat. SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon did mention that Ambrose will get his one-on-one rematch with Styles at a later date. Ambrose just lost the title on Sunday night at Backlash.
– WWE announced last week that Curt Hawkins would make his return on this week’s SmackDown but he did not appear live. They did air a backstage vignette from Hawkins, seen below. As noted, Hawkins defeated enhancement talent Brandon Scott in tonight’s dark match, his first WWE match since February 3rd, 2014.
