WWE RAW Opener:

We begin with a look back at highlights from last week’s Raw.

– We are in Anaheim, California and your announcers are Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton. We will get a look at Orton and Lesnar tonight. Plus, RAW General Manager Mick Foley has invited SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan to the show. Also, music mogul Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs guest stars.

– We go to the ring and out comes Enzo Amore and Big Cass to a big pop.

They cut promos on the way to the ring and bring up the segment from last week. Enzo says he had it in the bag, referring to WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. He knocks Chris Jericho for messing things up and for wearing a scarf. Enzo says he and Cass are on a come-up, a stairway to heaven, and Jericho is on a highway to hell. The music interrupts and out comes Jericho with a scarf on.

Jericho rips on them both and says he also has someone to watch his back now. The music hits and out comes Kevin Owens to join Jericho on the stage. They head to the ring as Enzo and Cass look on. Jericho says he and Owens had a lot of problems when he first came in but now they’re closer than brothers, close Canadian brothers. Jericho says Owens has his back no matter what. Cass paints a picture of them in the bath together. Jericho complains and Cass tells him to do something about it. Owens says he actually used to like Cass and says he related to him while they were in WWE NXT. Owens says he also had a waste of space as a best friend that was holding him down. Owens says Cass brought his dead weight to RAW instead of dropping it, and now Owens has to look at it and hear it vomit nonsensical garbage. This makes Owens dislike Cass. Owens doesn’t care if Cass is 7 feet tall, he’s going to hurt him Cass steps up to Owens. Owens says if it’s not him that hurts Cass, it will be Jericho. Cass turns his attention to Jericho. Jericho agrees, if Owens doesn’t want to hurt Cass, he will. Cass wants to go at it right now. They do some comedy and Jericho directs his challenge to Enzo, saying he better be prepared for “it” tonight. Enzo doesn’t know what “it” is but when he finds out, he’s going to shove “it” down Jericho’s throat. Enzo vs. Jericho is on for next. We go to commercial.

Enzo Amore vs. Chris Jericho

They lock up and Jericho with a side head lock and shoulder tackles. Enzo with a drop kick and arm drags into an arm bar. Enzo with a hammer lock and Jericho gets to the ropes. Jericho slaps Enzo in the face and chops him while Kevin inquires about how Enzo is doing. Jericho wtih an Irish whip and Enzo wtih a head scissors and another head scissors. Jericho with a clothesline. Jericho chokes Enzo in the ropes and Owens checks how far his fist can go and it reaches to Enzo’s face. Jericho with a suplex and a Jericho cover for a near fall. Jericho with a boot to the face. Enzo blocks a punch and Enzo with jabs but he runs into a drop kick and Jericho gets a near fall.

Enzo with punches but Jericho with a kick and he tries to send Enzo over the top rope and Enzo skins the cat and then he comes back into the ring and Enzo with a back body drop and a baseball slide. Owens checks on Jericho as we go to commercial.

We are back and Jericho chops Enzo in the corner. Jericho with an Irish whip but Enzo with a boot and a leaping DDT off the turnbuckles and both men are down. Enzo with punches and a cross body. Enzo punches Jericho and hits a running forearm. Enzo with a kick and facebuster followed by a forearm for a near fall. Enzo runs into a boot and Enzo goes for a rana but Jericho counters into the Walls of Jericho. Enzo gets to the ropes and Jericho thinks he won the match, but the referee tells Jericho what happened. Enzo with an elbow and then he goes up top for a cross body for a near fall.

Enzo with a plancha and then Jericho grabs the referee and Owens grabs Enzo’s leg. Jericho with a Codebreaker and Colin runs in and gives Jericho a boot to the head and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Chris Jericho (by disqualification)

After the match, Cass says if you want to stick your noses in their business, why not you two against them in their backyard at SummerSlam. Jericho and Owens accept the challenge because they are WINNERS. Colin says there will be only one word to describe them and he is going to spell it out for them.


Mick Foley is on the phone in his office and he says that he needs to nip this Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar thing in the bud and he has invited Daniel Bryan to meet with him tonight. Stephanie asks him about the tablet and he says it is good and Mick says it is so much better than the clipboard (even though Mick is using the clipboard and not the tablet)

Sasha enters the office and she says SummerSlam is in two weeks and she has to defend her title against Charlotte and she knows that Dana will be there. Why not make it a handicap match. Mick says everyone wants to see the rematch. Mick will put Sasha in a match against Dana. If Sasha wins, Dana is banned from ringside at SummerSlam, but if Dana wins, it will be a handicap match. Mick wishes Sasha luck and Sasha says she does not need luck. Back to commercial.

Braun Strowman vs. Jorel Nelson

Back from the break and out comes Braun Strowman as JoJo does the introduction. Saxton is backstage with Jorel Nelson, Braun’s opponent for tonight. Nelson is speechless when asked what convinced him to take this match. Nelson makes his way out next.

Nelson tries to leave the ring but he stops on the apron and Strowman knocks him off the apron. Strowman sends him back into the ring and hits a clothesline. Strowman picks up Nelson and hits a reverse choke slam for the three count.

Winner: Braun Strowman

After the match, Strowman throws Nelson out of the ring.


Foley is backstage on the tablet when Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs walks in. Combs gives Foley props for the new GM job and says tonight has been great as WWE always treats him like family. Combs gives Foley front row tickets for the upcoming Bad Boy Reunion tour show in Cleveland. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods walk in to greet Combs. They have some Booty-Os cereal for him and congratulate him on being the curator of the WWE 2K17 soundtrack. Combs hypes the soundtrack and eats some Booty-Os. Combs asks how Big E’s nuts are doing. Woods says Big E’s actually doing pretty bad, he was done wrong by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. They knock Gallows and Anderson, then leave with Combs to go call Big E with well wishes. Back to commercial.

Titus O’Neil vs. Darren Young

Back from the break and Titus O’Neil is in the ring with opponent Darren Young. WWE Hall of Famer Bob Backlund is out with Young. We get a look at how their match from last week ended.

Darren slaps Titus and punches him. Titus with a knee to the head and Young goes to the apron and Titus kicks him to the floor. Titus grabs Darren and runs him into the apron back first. Titus sends Darren back into the ring and hits a short arm clothesline. Titus mocks Backlund and connects with forearms to the back. The referee warns Titus. Darren slaps Titus and connects with an elbow. Young with a rolling forearm and then he comes off the turnbuckles and Titus catches him. Darren escapes a slam attempt and gets the three count with a handful of tights.

Winner: Darren Young

After the match, Backlund lifts Young up on the ramp. Titus looks on and isn’t happy as we go to replays.

– Still to come, Seth Rollins addresses Finn Balor. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and we get a promo for the cruiserweight division, coming soon to RAW.

In the Arena:

We go to the ring and out comes Seth Rollins to a pop.

Seth says the New Era is upon us and it has been quite the learning experience. Even the great Seth Rollins has learned a thing or two. Seth mentions Finn Balor, his SummerSlam opponent. He followed Finn’s career and he knew a lot about him. He knew that Finn was a cheap knockoff of himself. Finn is the Jared Leto to his Heath Ledger. Seth says he was forced to re-evaluate his opinion of Finn Balor.

We take a look back at Seth and Finn from last week.

So Finn is athletic and agile. We knew that. He is an effective striker, but a normal man would still be out on the mat after that attack, but Seth is not a normal man. Seth says he does not want to talk about himself because we all know how great he is. He wants to talk about Finn Balor.

Seth says Finn Balor is not his real name. He combined other words to come up with Finn Balor. Seth says to call yourself Famous Warrior Demon King would be like calling yourself Rambo Apocalyse. Now that we know what his name means, he wants to know more about Finn. He says Finn is one of the most disrespectful people he ever met. Seth says that this is his show and his ring. Finn got right in his face and talked to him like an arrogant person. Finn told Seth he was going to beat him for the WWE Universal Title. You have won two matches in WWE and the people you beat are no joke, but they are no Seth Rollins.

You disrespect him with your arrogance and ignorance. Finn told Seth the title opportunity was handed to him, but Seth reminds us that he came back from a career threatening injury in record time to win the WWE Title. Seth says he is not arrogant because he knows his place in the WWE. Right at the very top. He is not ignroant because he does not need to surround himself with myth and legend and smoke and mirrors. Seth says he is the myth, the legend, and the man.

In two hundred years when people sit with the children around the fire, they will talk about Seth riding in on his horse to slay the Demon. They will talk about him destroying the Roman Empire. He will add to his legend when he beats Finn Balor to become the first WWE Universal Champion.

– We take a look back at the return of Brock Lesnar last week and Randy Orton crossing the line onto Raw to attack Lesnar. We go to commercial.

– We are back and it is time to talk about the latest WWE and Scooby Doo feature.

Sheamus vs. Cesaro

They lock up and Sheamus with a side head lock take down. Sheamus with a shoulder tackle but Cesaro with a drop kick and clothesline to send Sheamus over the top rope. Cesaro with a suicide dive. The referee checks on Sheamus and Cesaro sends Sheamus back into the ring. Sheamus with a kick as Cesaro gets back into the ring and Sheamus follows with European uppercuts.

Sheamus with a punch and sets for the suplex but Cesaro blocks it and hits a deadlift vertical suplex. Cesaro gets a near fall. Cesaro with European uppercuts and a kick to the head. Cesaro wtih a flurry of European uppercuts. Cesaro with an Irish whip and Cesaro is sent to the apron but Cesaro stops Sheamus. Cesaro goes up top and Sheamus crotches him and then hits a Finlay Slam. We go to commercial.

We are back and Sheamus with a flying shoulder tackle off the turnbuckles. Sheamus with a reverse chin lock. Cesaro with a European uppercut series and then Cesaro goes to the apron. Sheamus blocks the boot and connects with a forearm. Sheamus with forearms and Cesaro with a head butt and he goes up top for a cross body and gets a near fall. Ceasro signals for the giant swing but Sheamus with a knee and he gets a near fall. Sheamus gets Cesaro on his shoulders and sets for White Noise but Cesaro with a rollup and he tries for the giant swing but Sheamus with a knee and rollup. Sheamus misses the Brogue kick after counters and Cesaro gets a near fall. Sheamus with a uranage back breaker for a near fall.

Sheamus with a shoulder into the corner followed by White Noise for a near fall. Sheamus goes up top and Cesaro with a running European uppercut. Sheamus and Cesaro exchange punches and Cesaro with a drop kick that knocks Sheamus off the turnbuckles. Cesaro wtith a running European uppercut against the ringside barrier. Cesaro with a running European uppercut and then they almost hit the referee. Sheamus pushes the referee into Cesaro and then Sheamus tries for the cover but the referee is not able to make the count. Cesaro with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Cesaro

– We take a look back at Brock Lesnar returning the favor on Smackdown. Back to commercial.

– We are back and it is time to take a look at a video package for the Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar match.

The Dudley Boyz vs. Neville and Sin Cara

We go to the ring and out comes Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley. This match comes after The Dudleyz challenged Neville to find a partner on the RAW Pre-show. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Sin Cara is revealed to be Neville’s partner.

Cara and Bubba start things off and Bubba with a boot to Cara and punches. D-Von tags in and punches Cara. D-Von with more punches and Bubba tags back in and punches Cara. Neville is knocked off the apron by Bubba and Bubba goes after the ankle but Cara with a plancha onto Bubba. Cara kicks Bubba and sends him back into the ring. Cara with chops and a quebrada. Cara with a kick and then he goes through the ropes and stops D-Von on the apron. Bubba with a shoulder tackle to knock Cara off the apron.

Bubba sends Cara back into the ring and D-Von tags in and they make a wish. D-Von wtih a leaping elbow drop for a near fall. D-Von with a hard Irish whip and he mocks Cara. D-Von wtih an Irish whip and he chops Cara in the corner. D-Von with an Irish whip and he misses a splash into the corner. Cara crawls across the ring to make the tag and Neville comes in and he kicks D-Von and hits a kick to the temple. Neville with a splash into the corner followed by a missile drop kick and he runs into an elbow in the corner. D-Von clotheslines Bubba when Neville moves. Neville with an enzuigiri and a rollup for a near fall. Neville with a corkscrew plancha onto Bubba. Cara with an enzuigiri from the apron and Neville with a missile drop kick and he goes up top for Red Arrow and he hits it for the three count.

Winners: Neville and Sin Cara

– We go to commercial with Rusev getting ready to have his Wedding Spectacular segment.

– We are back and Daniel Bryan is back and he arrives at the arena.

In the Arena:

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Rusev for a celebration of love. He stops on the stage and looks at his wedding ring. The music switches up as Lana makes her way out in a wedding dress. They walk to the ring together.

A table is set up in the ring with wedding cakes. Lana takes the mic and talks about her husband and her wedding, saying none of us could attend because it was VIP. Fans give her the “what?!” treatment and Rusev yells at them about respecting his wife. Lana says today is our lucky day because they’re going to re-live and re-enact their special day for all of us. Rusev comments on how beautiful his wife is and says she’s all his. He tells the pathetic Americans to look at her ring. Lana sends us to the wedding photos and says this is what it means to have true love.

We come back and fans aren’t buying it. Rusev and Lana brag on their wedding and knock fans. This leads to Roman Reigns making his way out. Rusev readies for a fight. Reigns says he’s not out here to ruin this or to fight, he just noticed Rusev didn’t even have a best man. Reigns figured he needed to step up and be Rusev’s best man. Reigns ends up issuing a challenge for SummerSlam but Rusev turns him down. Reigns gives a best man toast and disses the newlyweds. Rusev attacks Reigns and beats him into the corner. Reigns fights back and they brawl across the ring as Lana screams. Rusev beats Reigns down again. He checks on Lana and turns around to a big right hand. Rusev stumbles into Lana and she goes face first into the cake. Lana hates Reigns now. She throws a fit and Reigns leaves the ring. Reigns’ music hits as Rusev throws cake at him. Reigns looks on from the stage as Lana continues her tantrum.

– Still to come, Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks with SummerSlam stipulations on the line. Back to commercial.


We are back and Lana is freaking out and Rusev is yelling at Mick Foley. He says that Roman has to pay for this. Rusev says he is the top champion and the greatest WWE Champion. Mick tells Rusev he can take out his frustrations on Roman Reigns at SummerSlam and defend the US Title.

Sasha Banks vs. Dana Brooke

Dana hits Sasha from behind when Charlotte distracts Sasha. Sasha slaps Dana but Sasha with a hip toss and Meteora for a near fall. Sasha sends Dana into the turnbuckles. Dana counters a monkey flip by sending Sasha into the turnbuckles. Dana punches Sasha and goes for a Japanese Stranglehold and locks it in. Sasha with clotheslines and a drop kick. Dana has a kick blocked and Sasha kicks Dana. Dana kicks Sasha away and hits a clothesline. Dana gets a series of near falls and then she slaps Sasha. Charlotte tries to punch Sasha but misses and hits Dana. Sasha takes care of Charlotte. Dana goes for a shoulder in the corner but Sasha misses and Sasha hits the double knee drop and gets the three count. Dana will be banned from ringside at SummerSlam.

Winner: Sasha Banks

– We have a Nia Jax video package. Back to commercial.

Finn Balor Speaks:

We are back with a Finn Balor video package. He says that Seth has some misconceptions about him. What you call disrespect is honesty. What you call arrogance, he calls confidence. What you call ignorance, he calls fire. Do you know about the legends and myths? Do you know about Finn MacCool? He threw a piece of Ireland into the ocean and made the Isle of Mann. Do you know about the monsters? What about the King of the Demons? When his evil eye opens, the world ends. The grass burns, the sea boils and then the land catches on fire. When a warrior enters a great battle, he can tap into the power of these creatures and become greater than himself.

He says he know that Seth has his demons, but you have never seen a demon like this. You will see the Demon at SummerSlam.


We go to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. They talk about an epidemic affecting tag teams. They talk about ringpostitis. If you are trying to get pregnant, avoid people with ringpostitis. Don’t take their word for it, take Big E’s. Luke says the results were nuts. Karl says he wanted to ball his eyes out. Luke says they collect another sample from Kofi Kingston. We go to commercial.

Kofi Kingston (with Xavier Woods) vs. Luke Gallows (with Karl Anderson)

Kofi with a waist lock and Gallows with an elbow and punch. Gallows with an uppercut. Kofi goes for a sunset flip but Gallows stays on his feet. Kofi with a drop kick and then Gallows goes over the top rope and Kofi with a plancha. Kofi sends Gallows back into the ring and he goes up top but Anderson gets on the apron and Woods pulls him off and Woods is sent into the ring post. Gallows punches Kofi and Gallows gets Kofi on his shoudlers and hits a flapjack for the three count.

Winner: Luke Gallows

After the match, Luke and Karl pull Kofi toward the ring post but Woods gets a chair and Karl and Luke head up the ramp.


Goldust is outside and he is looking for R Truth but he sees Scooby instead. Truth comes out of the Mystery Machine and Truth tells Goldust he needs to be honest with him. Goldust reminds Truth they were not a team when he did the movie. Truth says he is being replaced by Man’s Best Friend and Goldust has to get between Truth and Scooby. Goldust plays peacemaker. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

Mick Foley makes his way to the ring and we go to commercial.

We are back and Mick Foley is in the ring. Mick says that wedding was fresh. Mick says that when he competed in WWE, he believed in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth and an ear for an ear. Mick brings out his special guest for tonight, Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Daniel says as much as it pains him, he says Mick is doing a great job running Raw. Mick says that Daniel is doing a great job on Smackdown and the Cruiserweight Classic. Daniel says he is impressed that Mick invited him. Mick cuts off Daniel before plugging Smackdown. Mick says he brought Daniel here to apologize for Brock invading Smackdown and laying out Randy Orton. He says he is deeply sorry.

Daniel says that Mick does not have to apologize because Smackdown fired the first shot by having Randy Orton come out and RKO the Beast. He says it should not have happened. Mick says that if Daniel had any respect, Daniel would not have said what he said about the Universal Title. We see the footage.

Daniel says that was out of context. He says they should have done an Interspecies or MIlky Way Title.

Rusev comes out and he is dressed for a fight. He says Raw does not need another champion, they have a champion named Rusev. While your superstars on Smackdown, he will crush him for the greatest GM in history, Mick Foley. Daniel wants to know if Rusev is trying to get out of his match against Roman by sucking up.

Cesaro comes out and he says that it seems like Rusev is having a really bad night and he has a way to make it worse. Cesaro reminds Foley that if he shows what he can do, he can earn a title match. He says he feels like he has proven himself.

Mick says that it looked like Sheamus had him beaten. Cesaro wants to know if Foley is not a man of his word. Bryan says that Cesaro is underutilized. Foley says that Roman gets his show at SummerSlam, but Cesaro gets his title match… TONIGHT! We go to commercial.

United States Championship
Rusev vs. Cesaro

Cesaro with a European uppercut followed by four Irish whips and European uppercuts. Rusev gets to the ropes to escape the giant swing. Cesaro with a cannonball off the apron. Cesaro goes up top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Rusev counters a Gotch Style Neutralizer and Rusev goes for a catapult and Cesaro lands on the turnbuckles and misses a splash. Rusev sends Cesaro shoulder first into the ring post twice. He does it a third time.

Rusev punches Cesaro as the referee warns him. Rusev with kicks to Cesaro and chokes him in the corner. Rusev wrings the arm into the ring post. Rusev with shoulders in the corner followed by a sternum first Irish whip. Rusev with a hip lock take down and elbow drop for a near fall. Cesaro with punches but Rusev with a shoulder to send Cesaro to the mat.

Rusev with a boot to the head. Rusev with a key lock. Cesaro with a slam and Cesaro falls down due to the pain. Cesaro with a double leg take down and Rusev kicks Cesaro away but Cesaro with a double stomp for a near fall. Cesaro with European uppercuts to Rusev in the corner. Cesaro goes to the turnbuckles for a tornado DDT and he gets a near fall.

Rusev wtih a kick and he sends Cesaro into the air and connects with a knee to the midsection and a kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Rusev with the pre-stomp scream and he stomps on the back and Rusev tries for the Accolade but Cesaro gets to his feet with an electric chair drop. Rusev punches Cesaro and Cesaro with a European uppercut. They go back and forth.

Cesaro with a springboard corkscrew European uppercut. Cesaro signals for the giant swing and he takes Rusev down and he swings Rusev. Cesaro with the Sharpshooter and Sheamus makes his way to ther ing and Cesaro knocks him off the apron. Rusev with a jumping thrust kick but he can only get a near fall. Rusev tries for the Accolade and Cesaro pushes Rusev into Sheamus and the referee goes down. Cesaro with the Gotch Style Neutralizer but the referee is not in position. The referee recovers but Rusev kicks out at two. Rusev with a thurmb to the eye and Cesaro staggers into the ropes and Sheamus with a Brogue Kick and Rusev with a round kick for the the three count.

Winner: Rusev

Rusev heads to the back but he looks like he has seen a ghost and Roman Reigns with a spear to Rusev.

We go to credits.
