WWE CWC RESULTS – AUGUST 2, 2016

We start off this week’s show with highlights from last week’s first round matches in the Cruiserweight Classic.

Tonight, Jason Lee faces Rich Swann. Noam Dar faces Gurv Sihra. Fabian Aichner faces Jack Gallagher. Johnny Gargano battles his tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa in the final match.

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan.

Corey Graves is in the control room and he says tonight will be more of the same as the first three weeks.

Rich Swann says what will make him the best is that he will not take anyone lightly. People telling him he is 5’7″ and 165 pounds and that he will never reach his dreams is what motivates him.

Jason Lee says he has been wrestling for eight years. He uses kung fu in his wrestling. He will show everyone that his dreams can come true.

Match Number One: Rich Swann vs. Jason Lee in aFirst Round Match

They lock up and Swann with a wrist lock but Lee with a side head lock take down and Swann with a head scissors but Lee escapes. Swann flips over Lee and hits a drop kick. Swann gets a near fall. Swann with an arm bar. Lee with a forearm but Swann with a forearm. Lee floats over and Lee with a kick and punches followed by a chop. Lee with an enzuigiri and he gets a near fall. Lee with a cravate but Swann with punches. Lee with a forearm but Swann with forearms and a back fist. Swann with an Irish whip but Lee with a kick.

Swann with a jumping rana to knock Lee off the turnbuckles and then he hits a rolling frog splash for a near fall. Lee with a DDT and kicks followed by a La Magistral for a near fall. Swann with a back heel kick and he pulls Lee into the corner and Swann with a standing 450 for the three count.

Winner: Rich Swann(faces Lince Dorado in the second round)

Gurv Sihra says him and his brother grew up watching the WWE. It is great to be in a WWE Ring. He was influenced by Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, and Eddie Guerrero.

Noam Dar says it is fantastic to represent Scotland and Israel. He says he is the youngest guy in the tournament. Some might overlook him because of his age but he has been wrestling since 15. He wants to represent Scotland well in this tournament.

Match Number Two: Gurv Sihra vs. Noam Dar in aFirst Round Tournament Match

They lock up and Sihra with a wrist lock but Dar with a waist lock. Dar holds on to the ropes to avoid a kick and Dar with a drop kick to the knee. Dar with a wrist lock and Sihra with an elbow and he applies a side head lock take down by reeling him in with the camera. Dar wtih a drop kick and he mocks Sihra. Sihra with an Irish whip but Dar with an elbow. Sihra wtih a near fall. Sihra with a kick. Dar with punches and forearms. Sihra with a kick and forearms. Sihra with a hard Irish whip. Dar with an Irish whip and Sihra goes chest first into the turnbuckles. Sihra misses a boot and Dar with a kick to the back of the leg.

Dar sends Sihra into teh turnbuckles and hits a running forearm and he hits a drop kick. Sihra wtih a take down and he tries for a Sharpshooter but Dar escapes it. Dar goes to the turnbuckles and connects with forearms and then he hits a running drop kick into the corner for a near fall. Sihra with an inside cradle and he gets a near fall. Sihra with a spinning heel kick for a near fall.

Sihra kicks Dar and he goes to the turnbuckles. Sihra misses an elbow drop as he runs out of film. Dar with an enzuigiri and a fisherman’s buster for a near fall and Dar with a knee bar and he kicks Sihra. Sihra has to tap out.

Winner: Noam Dar(Advances to face Ho Ho Lun in the second round)

Fabian Aichner says he is honored to represent Italy. There are not as many opportunities in Italy. He believes in hard work paying off and he will not let this slip through is figures.

Jack Gallagher says he has been wrestling for ten years. Jack says he will keep it gentlemanly if his opponent keeps it that way. He is submission based. It is a human game of chess. He is not the biggest man in the tournament so he will have to outthink his opponents.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three: Jack Gallagher vs. Fabian Aichner in aFirst Round Match

They lock up and Gallagher with a wrist lock. Aichner with cartwheels and other athleticism to reverse the wrist lock and Aichner with an arm bar. Aichner with a wrist lock. Gallagher tries to figure out a way to reverse the hold and finally he does it and he puts Aichner in a hammer lock. Aichner with a fireman’s carry into an arm bar and wrist lock. Aichner with a single leg take down into an ankle lock. Gallagher trips Aichner and applies an ankle lock. Aichner tries to flip Gallagher out of the hold but Gallagher with a cartwheel. Aichner with a snap mare and shoulder tackle.

Gallagher with a modified monkey flip for a near fall. Aichner blocks a suplex and Aichner with a knee and chop. Aichner with more chops. Aichner with a springboard back heel kick but he does not fully hit the move, but he gets a near fall. Aichner with a reverse chin lock. Gallagher with elbows and a sunset flip for a near fall. Aichner with a rollup and then they go back and forth with near falls.

Aichner with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall. Aichner goes to the apron and he hits a double jump moonsault for a near fall. Aichner goes for a suplex but Gallagher with drop kicks and a cross body. Gallagher with a guillotine on Aichner and Aichner falls to his knees. Aichner counters into a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Aichner with punches and then he goes up top. Aichner misses a frog splash and Gallagher with a head butt to the jaw and a running drop kick into the corner for the three count.

Winner: Jack Gallagher(Advances to face Akira Tozawa in the second round)

Corey Graves is in the Control Center.

Corey mentions that we are ready for the main event as Johnny Gargano faces his tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa.

Johnny and Tommaso introduce themselves. Johnny says he has been a singles wrestler his entire career but he was paired with Tommaso and it just clicked. Tommaso says their bond has grown. He says he is in Johnny’s wedding party in September. Johnny says he talks to Tommaso as much as or more than his fiance. Johnny says he will shake Tommaso’s hand and then he will see who is the better man. Tommaso says he does not try to injure people, but he will try to hurt Johnny.

Andrea D’Marco is with Johnny and Tommaso. She asks if being tag team partners affect things. Johnny says he is like a brother. Across the ring, he is just another guy. Tommaso says all he hears is Johnny Wrestling. Tonight is not about Johnny Wrestling. To call him another guy, not only will he knock Johnny out of the Cruiserweight Classic, he will hurt Johnny. Johnny tells Tommaso to do what he has to do.

Match Number Four: Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano in aFirst Round Match

Gargano with a wrist lock and take down. Gargano with a rollup into a crucifix and he gets a near fall. Gargano with an arm drag into an arm bar. Gargano with a hammer lock but Ciampa with a back elbow and Gargano goes down. Ciampa sends Gargano to the apron and then Ciampa with a running knee to send Gargano to the floor. Ciampa follows after Gargano and he chops Gargano and mocks Gargano. Ciampa hangs Gargano over the apron and connects with a forearm to the back and a running knee for a near fall. Ciampa gets another near fall.

Ciampa with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Gargano with elbows and a chop. Gargano with a head butt and then he goes to the apron and avoid a knee and clothesline but Ciampa with an elbow. Ciampa pulls Gargano up on the turnbuckles but Gargano trips Ciampa and connects with an enzuigiri on the apron. Gargano with a slingshot DDT and he gets a near fall. Gargano chops Ciampa in the corner. Gargano sets for a lawn dart but Ciampa escapes and Ciampa climbs the turnbuckles and sets for an Air Raid Crash from the turnbuckles but Gargano gets to his feet and he tries for a sunset flip power bomb but Ciampa holds on and Gargano with a super kick to the head while Ciampa’s head is against the turnbuckles. Ciampa goes to the floor and Gargano with a suicide dive.

Gargano goes for the slingshot spear but Ciampa with a knee and Ciampa gets a near fall. Ciampa sets for Project Ciampa but Gargano drops down to block it. Ciampa with forearms to the back. Gargano with a forearm but Ciampa with a kick and knee to the head. Gargano with an enzuigiri and both men are down. They both go to the apron and Gargano with a punch. Ciampa with a chop and they go back and forth. Ciampa with a knee and then he sets for an Air Raid Crash on the apron and he hits it and he gets a near fall.

Ciampa waits for Gargano to get up and Ciampa drops the knee pad. Ciampa cannot finish Gargano and he pulls up the knee pad. Gargano with a super kick and Ciampa with a clothesline. Ciampa with Project Ciampa for a near fall. Gargano struggles to get back to his feet and Ciampa stands over Johnny. Ciampa with chops to Gargano. Ciampa picks up Gargano by the chin and Gargano punches Ciampa but Ciampa punches and slaps Gargano. Gargano with a back slide into a series of near falls and Gargano with a crucifix for the three count.

Winner: Johnny Gargano(Advances to face TJ Perkins in the second round)

After the match, Gargano offers his hand to Ciampa and Ciampa does not want to shake it. Ciampa starts to walk away and he goes to the apron. Ciampa goes back into the ring and he sits down in the ring next to Gargano and he hugs him. Ciampa raises Gargano’s hand.
