Daniel Bryan agreed to return to WWE back in May, and initially the company wanted Bryan to return to TV much sooner than Raw this week.
Additionally, original WWE Brand Split plans called for Vince McMahon to announce the brand split and WWE Draft the night after Money in the Bank, and Daniel Bryan’s return would have been announced at that time as well.
Vince then would have announced Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon would continue running Raw and the story line would have seen Bryan butting heads with them leading up to the draft.
