Tonight’s WWE RAW opens with the roster backstage at a 4th of July celebration. Goldust and R-Truth are on a small stage with a mic. The Vaudevillains come in trying to crash the party. They kick Golden Truth off the stage and do their own musical rendition of the Declaration of Independence. Everyone boos them and Aiden English gets smacked in the face with some food. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse crash the party next.

Miz says he will not allow another WWE holiday party to be ruined by a food fight. He says today is not about food fights, it’s about… Miz gets decked with a bunch of chocolate. Someone nails Maryse with food next and a huge food fight breaks out. It ends with Kane and Big Show double chokeslamming Heath Slater through a table. Everyone laughs and leaves, covered in food, hopefully going to the showers. Kevin Owens appears from under a table and he’s all clean. He laughs at Slater and says this would never happen on Canada Day. Someone suddenly smashes a pie in Owens’ face and he flips out. We go to the RAW opening video.

– We’re live from Columbus, Ohio as the pyro goes off on the stage. Michael Cole welcomes us, and he’s joined by JBL and Byron Saxton for the Independence Day RAW. Greg Hamilton introduces Lilian Garcia, who is in the ring to perform the National Anthem.

WWE United States Title Match: Titus O’Neil vs. Rusev

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Rusev. Lana is at ringside. Titus O’Neil is out next and he’s dressed like Uncle Sam. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and they start. Rusev beats Titus into the corner and stomps away. Titus turns it around and slams Rusev. Titus with an uppercut and a big chop into the corner. Titus tosses Rusev across the ring. Titus with more work in the corner and another toss. Rusev comes back and dumps Titus over the top rope as Lana applauds.

Rusev sends Titus into the steel steps as the referee counts. Titus makes it back in but Rusev drops kicks him when he tries to make a comeback. Rusev with a pin attempt and a headlock. Titus finally fights out and nails a knee to the gut. Titus with more knees. Rusev with a knee. They trade big right hands now. Titus with a shoulder tackle and more offense. Titus with a splash in the corner. Rusev slides off Titus’ shoulders but Titus nails a powerslam. Titus hits Clash of the Titus for a close 2 count.

Rusev ends up dropping Titus with a kick to the head and following up with another, sending Titus to the mat. Rusev stomps on Titus and applies The Accolade for the win.

Winner: Rusev

After the bell, Rusev immediately applies The Accolade again before breaking. Titus takes the mic at ringside and chants USA before insulting fans and the 4th of July. Rusev drops the mic and leaves with Lana.

Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Back from the break and out comes Bo Dallas, Heath Slater and Curtis Axel dressed as Minute Men from the Revolutionary War. Bo takes the mic but is immediately interrupted by the music as Enzo Amore and Big Cass come out. They make their usual introductions and head to the ring.

Bo starts off with Enzo and takes him to the corner for a beatdown. Quick tags between Axel and Bo keep Enzo down in the corner as they stomp away. They double team Enzo and Axel covers for a close 2 count. Slater plays a flute at ringside. Axel misses a shot off the turnbuckles and Enzo tags in Cass. He unloads on both opponents and slams Bo for the Empire Elbow. Cass tosses Axel out onto Slater. Bo tries to roll him up but gets nailed with a big boot. Enzo tags in for the Rocket Launcher and the win.

Winners: Enzo Amore and Big Cass

In the Arena:

We are back and Charlotte and Dana Brooke make their way to the ring.

Charlotte wooos and Dana approves. Charlotte says jealousy is the strongest human emotion. Her entire life, everyone around her has been jealous because she has become the very best at what she does. The proof is around her waist. There is no one more jealous of her than Sasha Banks. It must eat her alive that she is leading the division while she holds to the delirious wannabes chanting for Sasha (and they chant for her). Charlotte says chants don’t pay the bills. Championships do. There is not one woman who has done more than her this year. You are looking at greatness and Sasha is all hype.

Sasha’s music plays and she makes her way onto the stage.

Sasha says you may be champion, but you will never be her. Charlotte says she does not want to be Sasha. You might be fooling all of these people, but the truth hurts. Sasha says that Charlotte has done everything but beaten her. Sasha tells Charlotte to hold back her pit bull or she will knock her out again. If it wasn’t for your dad, she would be champion. Sasha vows to dominate. Charlotte says that Sasha isn’t even part of the conversation. Sasha says she is the conversation.

Charlotte points out that next week is the anniversary of their debut on the main roster and she has been champion most of the time so she is the real boss. Sasha says Charlotte wishes it was that easy. Sasha says a boss is real and not a copy of her dad. A boss throws it down anywhere and any time. She tells Charlotte that her reign as champion is over.

Dana tries to hit Sasha but misses. Sasha hits Charlotte but Charlotte with a boot to the head. Charlotte says that her reign has just begun but Sasha escapes a slam and hits a lungblower and applies the Banks Statement but Dana pulls Charlotte to the floor.

– We go to commercial with Dean Ambrose walking in the back for that rare Champion versus Champion match (assuming we didn’t see this on Smackdown last week).

The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose

Back from the break and out comes WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse. We see the Spanish announce team at ringside. Miz takes the mic and dedicates this match to his wife. Out next comes WWE Champion Dean Ambrose for this non-title match.

Ambrose with a waist lock and Miz with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Ambrose with a hip toss and slam. Ambrose with chops. Ambrose clothesline Miz over the top rope to the floor. Ambrose slingshots and takes Miz down on the floor and he sends Miz into the ringside barrier. Ambrose sends Miz into the ringside barrier and he breaks up the referee’s count. Miz drops Ambrose groin first on the ringside barrier and Miz knocks Ambrose into Yeatonville as we go to commercial.

We are back and Miz works on the leg and Ambrose tries to kicks Miz away. Ambrose with punches and chops to Miz. Miz with an Irish whip and he kicks Dean in the leg when he puts it in the ropes and Miz with a drop kick to the leg. Miz kicks Ambrose in the leg. Ambrose counters an atomic drop to the knee with a sunset flip for a near fall. Ambrose with chops and then he misses a drop kick when Miz holds the ropes. Miz with a figure four leg lock. Ambrose gets to the ropes and Miz has to release the hold. Miz kicks Ambrose in the leg but Ambrose sends Miz over the top rope to the floor.

Miz gets back into the ring and Ambrose wtih punches. Miz goes for Reality Check but Ambrose escapes the neck breaker. Ambrose with a forearm and then he hits a running forearm into the corner. Ambrose puts Miz on the turnbuckles for a superplex but Miz blocks it. Miz knocks Ambrose off the turnbuckles with a head butt. Ambrose with a kick and Miz escapes a double underhook DDT. Miz goes for the figure four and Ambrose with an inside cradle. Ambrose bounces off the ropes and hits a clothesline and then he hits a suicide dive.

Ambrose sends Miz back in and goes up top. MIz with a kick and he tries for the Skull Crushing Finale but Ambrose counters with a rollup for a near fall. Miz with a boot but he misses a running boot and Ambrose with the double underhook DDT and the three count.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose leaves the ring and Seth Rollin’s music plays as he makes his way to the stage. Seth walks past Dean as he goes to the ring for his match. Dean looks from the stage and he thinks about what to do next. Dean goes to the ring as his music plays and Dean goes to the announce table to do commentary for Seth’s match. We go to commercial.

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler

Back from the break and Ambrose is talking to the Spanish announcers. Dolph Ziggler is out next.

Ziggler goes for the leg and Rollins gets to the ropes. Rollins with a back elbow to the head. Ziggler with a waist lock into a side head lock and rollup for a near fall. Rollins goes to the floor. Rollins gets back into the ring and they go to a test of strength. Rollins with a waist lock but Ziggler with a head lock> Ziggler gets a series of near falls and Rollins goes to the floor again.

Rollins has comments for Ambrose before he goes back to the ring. Rollins with a kick and double sledge to the back followed by kicks and punches. Rollins wants to make sure that Ambrose is watching as he slams Ziggler. Ziggler with a drop kick and he sets for a super kick but Rollins goes to the floor when he sees it coming. Ziggler chases Rollins on the floor and drops him on the top rope. Rollins with an enzuigiri to knock Ziggler off the apron and to the floor. We go to commercial.

We are back and Rollins taunts Ziggler but Ziggler punches back. Rollins stops Ziggler and goes up top. Ziggler leaps up and he hits a super face buster for a near fall. Rollins kicks Ziggler and tries for the buckle bomb but Ziggler lands on his feet. Ziggler with clotheslines and the Stinger Splash followed by the neck breaker and leaping elbow drop. Ziggler gets a near fall. Ziggler sets up for the super kick but Rollins blocks it and Ziggler lands on his feet on a suplex attempt. Rollins with a back heel kick and he gets a near fall. Rollins with a super kick for a near fall.

Rollins waits for Ziggler to get up for the springboard knee but Ziggler moves. Rollins blocks a hesitation DDT but Ziggler gets a rollup for a near fall. Ziggler with a super kick for a near fall. Rollins misses a round kick and Ziggler hits the hesitation DDT but Rollins holds the ropes on the Zig Zag attempt. Rollins with a Pedigree for the three count.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Seth Rollins gets on the announce table and he says that unlike the Guy, Seth says he leaves no controversy over who is the best. Day in and day out he works harder than anyone. He will not let Roman Regins tarnish his legacy. Roman’s career is a joke. He needs to be taken out of the match at Battleground so he can get his one-on-one rematch. Roman should not be in the draft.

Roman is supposed to be a role model for everybody, but you are just like he is. You always cut corners, you cheat, and lie to get to the promised land. None of you have worked a day in your stinking lives.

Dean gets up on the Spanish Announce Table.

Seth tells Dean he is the one who is crazy. He tells Dean that he stole his title from him and that is his life. He will do the same thing at Battleground and he will beat Dean and Roman to take back his title. Dean says nah, he can have it right now. Dean tosses Seth the belt and Dean punches Rollins. Dean slams Rollins’ head into the announce table and then he sends Rollins over the Spanish Announce Table and he hits the double underhook DDT on the announce table.


The Wyatt Family appear on the titantron. Bray says the New Day come from a world that does not really exist. The Power of Positivity does not really exist. Where they come from, the pain is a reality. It is constant.

Rowan says this is the place that their souls devour. Braun says it is a sanctuary for the damned.

Bray says he would like to formally invite the New Day to join them. It is an invitation. He tells them to bring their sunshine and their laughter. The Power of Positivity is nothing more than a fairy tale and a myth that only children can believe. Fear is very very real. Come on in, the water’s fine. Join them. We go to commercial.

– Back from the break and we get a hype vignette for Baron Corbin.

In the Arena:

We hear “excuse me!” ring out as Vickie Guerrero returns to WWE TV and appears at the SmackDown podium on the stage.

Vickie says that as a former General Manager of Raw and Smackdown, she is here tonight. She says since Smackdown starts on July 19th, it is in need of an experienced COO. While Shane and Stephanie are handling the duties of Raw, Smackdown cannot be led by an unstable freak like Kane, Teddy Long, or a corporate stooge like John Laurinaitis. Smackdown needs to be led by an independent woman like her so she is submitting her name as the Smackdown COO. She tells the WWE Universe to let your voice be heard and let them know you believe in Vickie Guerrero to lead Smackdown.

Security comes out and leads Vickie Guerrero away.


Big Show is in the back and he says that they are not friends. That doesn’t really matter. The Founding Fathers did not get along. Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton. They often clashed and fought. When it mattered the most, they put their problems aside and united against a common enemy. Americans unite. It does not matter if you come from Dudleyville or the depths of hell, a kid from Long Island with a dream. When they chips are down, they stand together. There is a new enemy in front of them. He says it will not be easy. Some of you won’t make it all the way through this match. It is no walk in the park.

Show asks if they are afraid and they say no. He says they will never back down. This is the Fourth of July and they will not back down. They will win and they will defend the legacy that started 240 years ago. We go to commercial.

– We are back and we are reminded that the Cruiserweight Classic Bracketology will take place after NXT this week.

– Vickie Guerrero is being taken out of the arena and Dolph Ziggler stops. Dolph says he has never seen that woman before and they are taken away.

The Vaudevillains vs. R Truth and Goldust

Truth and Gotch start things off and Gotch with European uppercuts and a kick but Truth with a leg lariat and both men are down. English tags in and so does Goldust. Goldust wtih clothelslines and then Goldust with a drop down uppercut. Goldust with a reverse atomic drop to Gotch and a bulldog to English. Goldust with punches and an Irish whip followed by a power slam for a near fall. Truth is sent to the floor along with Gotch. English with a kick and Truth makes the blind tag and they hit a spike power bomb for the three count.

Winners: Goldust and R Truth

We are back with Life Lessons with Bob Backlund. Bob wants Darren to be problem free. Darren asks how do you live a problem free life. Bob says you make your problems submit to your will. Bob asks Darren what his finishing maneuver is. Darren says it is the Gut Check. Bob asks what his submission hold is and Darren says he does not have one. Bob tells Darren not to be a chicken and become a master of the crossface chicken wing. Darren asks Bob if he is giving him his finishing hold. Bob says it belongs to everyone who fights for what they believe in.

In the Arena:

John Cena makes his way to the ring.

John says he came out here and maybe you were a bit disappointed because you weren’t as fired up as you normally are. He wants to know if you want to have fun tonight. John wants to know if we are going to have some excitement tonight. Maybe you sound a little disappointed.

John says he felt it when he stood in the ring with AJ Styles. Those who supported him were going to give him that edge. Those of you who support AJ Styles were excited to see him get his chance after fifteen years. Then AJ refused to stand on his own two feet. Instead he leaned on the shoulders of the Club. You fight one member of the Club, you fight the whole Club. They haven’t left it at that. He says he has to worry about the Club every time he steps in the ring. John mentions what happened last week on Raw.

John says today is a day that every American looks forward to, but he is looking over his shoulder. He is banged up and bruised but he is standing. He is sick of looking over his shoulder so he tells the Club if you want some, come get some.

AJ Styles comes out with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

AJ says he expected John to do something patriotic, but instead he is pathetic. You are whining and crying about a personal set back. Something doesn’t go your way so it is unfair?

AJ says this past week in Tokyo, it was supposed to be a homecoming. Instead, they see John Cena’s face all over the poster. AJ says you found out quick that they run Tokyo. Soon they will run the WWE. That cannot happen until they get rid of you. The powers that be, the ones who didn’t want him here, couldn’t get over the fact that AJ beat John at Money in the Bank.

AJ says that he knows that John can come out and use the shovel to bury him, but that won’t happen while he has Karl and Luke out here. He says they enjoy beating up John almost as much as he does. No WWE Superstar is coming out to help you. You got nobody. You wanna know why? It is because of you. You put yourself on an island that no one can relate to. Most superstars can relate to the Club. Most would want to be in their position, beating up John. AJ says they are the only ones with big enough balls to get it done. Every week you come here, they are going to beat you up. What is more fun than beating up John Cena week after week after week after week after week. Then sooner or later, it will be Labor Day. He asks Karl what is he going to do.

Karl says he is going to beat up John Cena. AJ asks Luke what is he going to do for Halloween. Luke says he is going to dress up like Bushwhacker Luke and lick AJ’s face and beat up John Cena. Karl says he is going to beat up John Cena on Christmas. AJ suggests that they beat up John Cena today since it is July 4th.

They make their way to the ring and they circle the ring on three sides. Anderson is the first to go after Cena but then all three work over Cena. Styles punches Cena while Karl and Luke watch.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady make their way to teh ring and they go after Anderson and Gallows while the numbers are evened up. Cena takes care of Styles while Enzo gets rid of Anderson and Colin with a boot to send Gallows over the top rope to the floor. We go to commercial.

– We are back and Epico and Primo say nobody else can celebrate Independence Day like they do in Puerto Rico.

– It is official. Becky Lynch faces Natalya at Battleground.

Summer Rae vs. Becky Lynch

Becky with a kick but she misses a splash into the corner. Summer kicks Becky and chokes her in the ropes while Natalya watches from a humanly impossible to watch angle. Summer wtih a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Summer with a Million Dollar Dream.

Becky gets back to her feet and punches Summer but Summer with a knee and she sends Becky to the mat. Summer with a suplex for a near fall. Becky with an inside cradle for a near fall. Becky with clotheslines and a drop kick. Becky with a running forearm into the corner followed by an Exploder for a near fall. Summer with a round kick from the apron but she misses another kick and Becky with the DisArmHer and Summer taps out.

Chris Jericho is with his team and he says he is tired of Independence Day. Chris wishes everyone a belated Canada Day. He says that where he is from, a Multi-National Alliance means something to him. Alberto wants to know who made him captain. Jericho argues with Del Rio in Spanish and that leaves Sheamus as the voice of reason. Owens stands up and he says he does not care what language someone speaks or where anyone is from and where anyone is from, he is ready to beat up some stupid Americans for what happened during the food fight.

Jericho tells Zayn, Cesaro, Sin Cara, and Kalisto to look out for it. Zayn tells them they need to stay on the same page. They need to show diversity and friendship. We go to commercial.

– We are back and Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady are in the back to do a live commercial for Sonic.

In the Arena:

The New Day make their way to the ring.

Kofi says a lot of people think that the Wyatt Family are some no style having no grooming, big booty, you sure do have a purty mouth hillbillies. Big E says the rumor is that the Wyatt Family does not stray from the family tree. Their sisters appreciate their misters. Kofi says they would never spread those rumors because they like the Wyatts. The Wyatts like them too. Why else would they invite them to their compound. Big E says they will bring the Wyatts a gift… a big bowl of BOOTY-Os. Kofi says that Erick doesn’t need a bowl of BOOTY-Os

Erick Rowan shows up and he says ignorance is bliss and the sound of laughter is the most precious thing in life. Braun says that a scream is music to his ear. Bray says there has been a balancing act between goodness and evil, the light and the dark. You can bring your jokes or come to his world and seek the truth. This is a challenge. What say you New Day. Are you men or are you cowards. How far will you go to fight for what you believe in? How far are you willing to go for the fight that has been going on since the beginning of time. They must end it. Bray tells The New Day to find him.

The lights go back on in the arena and Kofi says the Wyatts want them to go to their compounds. Kofi says to tell Tarzan Wyatt to get things ready because they accept. Big E says they are going to spread positivity all over the place. Xavier says he does not see what is going on. Bray is dangerous. You accept this challenge without thinking. They are going where The Wyatts have the advantage. Xavier says everything has been fun and games until now. If you do not see the danger and threat that Bray Wyatt is to them, then he does not think the New Day will survive. Xavier leaves the ring and he walks away.

– We are back and we are told that John Cena, Enzo Amore, and Colin Cassady will face The Club at Battleground.

Big Show, Bubba Ray Dudley, Apollo Crews, D-Von Dudley, Kane, Makr Henry, Zack Ryder, and Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Cesaro, Sin Cara, and Kalisto in an Elimination Tag Match

Owens and Ryder start things off and Owens with punches and a clothesline in the corner followed by a cannonball. Ryder with a boot to the head and D-Von tags in and so does Cara. Cara with a springboard cross body and a springboard back elbow. Cara with chops and a quebrada.

Bubba tags in and they hit the 3D on Cara.

Sin Cara Eliminated

Sheamus with a Brogue Kick and Bubba is pinned by Cara.

Bubba Ray Dudley Eliminated

We go to commercial.

We are back and Cesaro gets a near fall on D-Von. D-Von with punches but Cesaro escapes a slam. Cesaro with a European uppercut and then he gives D-Von a giant swing and he applies the Sharpshooter and D-Von taps out.

D-Von Dudley Eliminated

Swagger offers his hand to Cesaro but Cesaro with a We the People to rehash old times. Swagger with a waist lock and Ceasro wtih a gutwrench but Swagger holds on for an ankle lock. Swagger kicks Cesaro away on a Sharpshooter attempt. Jericho tags in and Swagger with a kick. Swagger with punches. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho but Swagger powers out of it. Jericho comes off the turnbuckles and Swagger catches him and hits a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Swagger wtih an Irish whip and clothesline into the corner. Jericho falls to the mat and Swagger goes for the double jump Swagger Bomb but Jericho gets his knees up and hits a Codebreaker on Swagger to pin him.

Jack Swagger Eliminated

Kane goes for a choke slam on Jericho and then Kane grabs Kalisto. Everyone gets in the ring and there is pandemonium as we go to commercial.

We are back and Crews punches Del Rio. Del Rio gets a near fall after a lungblower. Del Rio is sent to the apron but Del Rio drops Crews’ arm on the top rope and Del Rio spins his finger and whistles. Del Rio goes up top and Crews with a drop kick to Del Rio.

Henry tags in and he clotheslines Del Rio a few times. Henry with a body block. Del Rio wtih a back heel kick. Kalisto tags in and Kalisto is caught and Henry with a World’s Strongest Slam for the three count.

Kalisto Eliminated

Owens with a pop up power bomb to Henry to pin him

Mark Henry Eliminated

Owens with an elbow and slam to Ryder. Owens sends Ryder into Zayn and Owens gets a near fall. Zayn comes in and he punches Owens and sends Owens to the floor. Kane tags in and clotheslines Zayn and sets him for a choke slam but Owens with a chair shot to Zayn and he is disqualified.

Kevin Owens Eliminated

Kane punches Owens and hits Owens with a chair.

Kane Eliminiated

Kane choke slams Zayn before he leaves and Crews with a moonsault for a three count.

Sami Zayn Eliminated

Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Crews to eliminate him

Apollo Crews Eliminated

Sheamus knocks Show off the apron and Sheamus with a suplex throw to Ryder. Jericho tags in and he kicks Ryder and sings O Canada. Sheamus tags in and punches Ryder. Del Rio tags in and Irish whips Ryder and hits a DDT. Jericho tags in and he kicks Ryder. Cesaro argues with Del Rio while Jericho goes for a Jericho cover on Ryder. Jericho does not tag in Cesaro and he punches Ryder. Cesaro tags himself in and Jericho argues with Cesaro. Jericho pushes Cesaro and pie faces Cesaro. Cesaro with European uppercuts to Jericho, Del Rio, and Sheamus as he goes around the corners.

Cesaro with a European uppercut and he goes for a Gotch Style Neutralizer but Ryder with a jackknife cover to eliminate him.

Cesaro Eliminated

Jericho punches Ryder and tags in Sheamus. Sheamus with a European uppercut and punch. Sheamus waits for Ryder to get up and Ryder lands on his feet on a suplex attempt and hits a neck breaker. Both men are down. Show tags in and so does Jericho. Show with a clothesline to Jericho and then Del Rio. Show Irish whips Del Rio into Jericho and Show with a splash and knock out punch to eliminate Jericho.

Chris Jericho Eliminated

Del Rio escapes a choke slam and Del Rio with a kick to Show. Del Rio has a super kick blocked and then Show with a choke slam to pin Del Rio.

Alberto Del Rio Eliminated

Sheamus is the final man for his team and Show pulls Sheamus back into the ring by the mohawk and he brings Sheamus into the ring. Show sends Sheamus into the turnbuckles and chops him. Show with an Irish whip and running butt splash and running knee. Show tries for a choke slam but Sheamus escapes and drop kicks Show in the knee. Ryder tags in and he connects with a forearm. Sheamus with a tilt-a-whirl power slam for a near fall. Sheamus goes after Show but Show grabs Sheamus and pushes him back to Ryder for a Rough Ryder and the three count.

Winners: Zack Ryder, Big Show, Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, Mark Henry, Kane, Apollo Crews, and Jack Swagger
