Earlier today FOX announced that the John Cena hosted reality series “American Grit” will be returning for a second season. Despite “soft” ratings for the first season of the show, FOX has ordered a second season, but a premiere date has yet to be revealed.
Cena acted as the show’s Executive Producer, and took a stretch of time off from WWE at the end of 2015 in order to shoot the first season of the show. If Cena returns to the second season of the show in the same capacity as the first, then it is expected he will be taking another block of tine off from WWE in order to complete filming.
“American Grit” is a military-themed reality series, which sees competitors take on different obstacles under the tutelage of United States military heroes.
