WWE NXT RESULTS – JUNE 1, 2016

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Corey Graves and Tom Phillips.

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson make their way to the ring and they have something to say.

Dash says they are going to take back their tag team titles at Takeover and become the first ever two time NXT Tag Team Champions.

Scott says they have enough gusto and fortitude as well as decency to say that American Alpha are good amateur athletes, but this is the big time and come Takeover, they are going to show who they are. Maybe American Alpha can take their towel and wipe off the tears when they lose the titles.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano make their way to the ring.

Dash asks them if they can help Tommaso and Johnny.

Tommasso says their time at the top has come and gone. Everyone knows that American Alpha is better than you. You cannot beat them, and you cannot beat us.

Scott says that is cute. Two generic undersized bearded guys who think they are good. Dash says they are ‘good hands’.

Tommaso wants to know if they are talking about them or themselves.

Scott says the renaissance of the tag team division is due to them. Scott tells them to go back to their bingo halls so the top guys can handle top guy business.

Tommaso asks if they are going to take care of business the same way they took care of business in Dallas, when you lost?

Dash says that they can say that they were champions unlike you jamokes. When you have won anything, you come see the Revival and maybe they will talk.

Scott and Dash leave the ring.

Johnny says for two top guys they are moving up that ramp real fast.

Dash and Scott go back into the ring but Gargano and Ciampa with drop kicks to send them to the floor. Scott goes to the apron and he is stopped by Johnny and Tommaso.

Scott and Dash appear to have accepted the challenge implied by Gargano and Ciampa.

Shinsuke Nakamura is in the interview area with Cathy Kelley and she asks him about his match with Austin Aries. Nakamura says that he thinks Austin Aries will bow down to the King of Strong Style. Nakamura leaves and we go to commercial.

Match Number One: Tye Dillinger versus Buddy Murphy

Murphy retreats into the ropes to avoid Dillinger. They lock up and Murphy with a wrist lock. Dillinger with an arm drag and snap mare and the crowd chants ‘TEN’. Dillinger blocks a punch and gives Murphy an arm drag into an arm bar. Dillinger sends Murphy to the apron and Murphy pulls Tye down by the hair. Murphy with a sliding forearm into the corner and he gets a near fall. Murphy kicks Tye in the corner. Murphy gets a near fall and then he follows with a knee drop before getting another near fall. Murphy with a reverse chin lock.

Dillinger powers out of the hold and he gets a victory roll for a near fall. Dillinger with chops followed by a Thesz Press and punches. Dillinger with an Irish whip and back body drop followed by a boot to the head. Dillinger climbs the turnbuckles and punches Murphy. Murphy pushes Dillinger off the turnbuckles and Dillinger with a super kick and he gets in one more punch. Dillinger pulls down the knee pad and he hits the Ushigoroshi for the three count.

Winner: Tye Dillinger

Corey Graves had the chance to sit with Samoa Joe and Finn Balor about their Steel Cage Match.

Corey asks Finn what was he thinking when he saw Samoa Joe holding the NXT Title. Finn says it is difficult because you think about how your career was going to unfold and he did not see it coming. He expected a fairy tale ending, but that was not one. He did not imagine that his world would come tumbling down at a house show in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Corey asks if Finn regrets that match. Finn says you challenge the title every day. He defended the title for 292 days and on that day he was beaten.

Corey reminds Joe of his comments about how he said he was going to win the NXT Title. Joe says he got what he deserved. FInn had him go through ridiculous hoops to get there. He had to face Sami Zayn and ridiculous battle royals. Joe says Finn did not defend the title all the time.

Finn says that Joe came in feeling he was entitled. He says there are more people in the Performance Center more deserving.

Joe asks why isn’t anyone else holding the belt.

Finn says that Joe was whining all the time.

Joe says he is the best. Joe says that Finn came to him for help in the Dusty Classic. Joe reminds Finn about how he asked for a title match, but William Regal said no and you didn’t raise your voice.

Finn asks what happened to the Joe he knew for the last ten years.

Joe asks what happened to the guy who did not give him a fair shot? Was it because Finn did not think he could win.

Finn says he travelled full time for fifteen years. He is not scared of Samoa Joe. He was in Japan in the dojos.

Joe asks Finn who put him in Japan.

Corey asks them about the matches in Dallas and London.

Finn says that people said he survived twice. He did survive, but he also won. It was not a miracle that he won.

Corey asks Finn if he has ever been in a steel cage match and he says he has not, but he has been in first time matches and won.

Joe says that in a cage, no one can help. He reminds Finn about how they were concerned for his safety in Dallas. The medical staff was keeping him from beating Finn in Dallas.

Corey asks Finn if he is aware of the risk he is putting his career by facing Joe in the cage.

Finn says there is no risk. He is here to wrestle for the title and he is here for the moment, not the future.

Joe says it is an opportunity to show certain people where there place is. Joe tells Finn when they get into the cage. . .

Finn reminds Joe that Joe stabbed him in the back.

Joe says he had to do it because Finn kept running away from him.

Finn tells Joe to enjoy it while it lasts. He tells him to enjoy the title while it lasts.

Joe tells Finn it is all over.

Match Number Two: Elias Samson versus Austin Aries

They lock up and Samson with a side head lock. Samson with a wrist lock. Aries with a reversal into an arm bar. Aries holds on to the arm and arm bar when Samson tries to Irish whip Aries. Samson with a punch and Irish whip. Aries floats over and Samson with a forearm. Aries with arm drags into an arm bar. Samson with a head scissors but Aries escapes and hits a drop kick and gets a near fall before applying an arm bar. Samson hits the ropes to take advantage. Samson with punches and kicks.

Samson with a clothesline and he gets a near fall. Samson with a modified chin lock into a cobra clutch. Samson with a side head lock and Aries with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the hold. Aries with a kick and punches. Aries with chops to Samson. Aries with a clothesline and snap mare. Aries goes to the turnbuckles and hits a corkscrew elbow and then he hits a suicide dive onto Samson.

Aries with a roaring elbow and then he hits a running drop kick into the corner. Aries with a neck breaker into a front chancery and knees to the head. Aries with the Last Chancery and Samson taps out.

Winner: Austin Aries

After the match, Aries says that he has said it and proven it. Nakamura, at Takeover, I remove any doubt and he makes it official that he is the greatest in this ring. He will shine the spotlight where it belongs. That is on Austin Aries.

We go to commercial with the Andrade Cien Almas video package.

Match Number Three: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa versus Scott Dawson

Gargano and Dawson start things off and they lock up. Dawson with a side head lock. Dawson with a shoulder tackle or two. Gargano with arm drags and a drop kick. Wilder is met with a back elbow and Ciampa tags in. Ciampa with a take down and Gargano with boots to the head and Ciampa with a kick for a near fall Ciampa with a front face lock. Ciampa keeps Dawson from making the tag. Dawson backs Ciampa into a neutral corner and he connects with a shoulder. Ciampa and Dawson go back and forth with chops and punches. Ciampa with a clothesline or two. Ciampa knocks Wilder off the apron.

Dawson sends Ciampa to the floor. Dawson brings Gargano into the ring and the referee deals with Gargano and Dawson while Wilder gets Ciampa off the apron as we go to commercial.

We are back and Wilder works on the leg. Wilder works on the knee and Ciampa with chops but Wilder with punches and kicks. Ciampa with an inside cradle for a near fall. Ciampa with punches but Wilder keeps Ciampa from making the tag. Wilder with a kick to the knee and he is sent to the floor. Dawson tags in and Ciampa sends Dawson into the ring post. Ciampa stops the count and Dawson cuts off Ciampa from making the tag and he gives Ciampa a drop toe hold and Wilder tags in and hits a double sledge to the back.

Wilder with a kick to the back. Wilder tags in Dawson when Ciampa goes for a sunset fip. Gargano tags in and he connects wtih clothesilnes and double knees into teh corner. Dawson wtih an Irish whip but Gargano floats over and rolls Dawson up and hits a round kick. Gargano is sent to the apron but Johnny with a slingshot spear for a near fall. Dawson with a DDT on Gargano but Ciampa breaks up the cover. Dash and Ciampa go to the floor.

Dawson sets for a superplex and they exchange punches on the turnbuckles. Dawson is knocked to the mat but Dawson gets in a shot on Gargano. Dawson with a superplex but Gargano wtih an inside cradle for the three count.

Winners: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa

After the match, Dawson and Wilder send Gargano to the floor and then they double team Ciampa. Wilder and Dawson with punches and kicks. Dawson and Wilder hit the Shatter Machine on Ciampa. Dawson holds Ciampa for Wilder but Chad Gable and Jason Jordan come to the ring and all four men brawl in the ring.

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for a contract signing.

William Regal is in the ring and he brings out the challenger, Nia Jax. Regal then brings out the champion, Asuka.

William reminds us of Asuka’s rise to the top but he is interrupted by Nia.

Nia says everyone has been running scared of you for months, but why? You haven’t done anything impressive. You kicked some girls in the head. You beat Bayley, but I broke Bayley. She broke the heart and soul of NXT. Just like she is going to break Asuka. You call yourself the Empress of Tomorrow, but you have never faced anyone like her. There is no one like her. She says she is the future and she is not scared of Asuka.

Nia signs the contract.

Asuka says Nia talks too much and then Asuka signs the contract and says something in Japanese.

She says if you are not scared of her, you should be.

Asuka gets in Nia’s face and Nia pushes Asuka away. Asuka with punches but Nia blocks a kick and hits a power bomb on Asuka.

We go to credits.
