WWE RAW Opener:
Tonight’s WWE RAW opens up with a taxi arriving to the arena earlier in the day. Dean Ambrose gets out and heads to the arena but stops as he forgot the WWE World Heavyweight Title belt. The new champion heads into the building as we go to the opening video.
– Michael Cole welcomes us. He’s joined by Byron Saxton and JBL. We go to the ring and out comes new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose.
Dean says last night was a long night in Las Vegas. He says he is not talking about the things he does not remember. There was the security guard and the Cleveland Cavaliers celebration. He says he might have had his foot run over by a cab. Then he did this thing where he climbed a fifteen foot ladder to win Money in the Bank. He might have been bitten by a dog. He also cashed in on Seth Rollins to become the new WWE Champion.
He says that Seth Rollins had a long night last night. He was the right guy at the right place at the wrong time. Dean says he has a lesson of the week. What goes around comes back around. He has another lesson. He says hard work pays off. Busting your ass and keeping it next to the grindstone pays off and it can pay off big. Seth called himself the man and Roman called himself The Guy. Does that make Dean ‘the Dude’? Dean says you can call him whatever you want but call him champ.
Dean says he has been chasing this for two years and he kept on fighting until he won it. He says it was worth it because he ain’t having any hard times any more.
Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way onto the stage and makes his way to the ring.
Roman says last night it wasn’t his night. Last night was your night. Roman congratulates Dean and says he is happy for him. Roman asks Dean how good was it to cash in on Seth?
Dean says he would have cashed in on Roman too.
Roman tells the people telling him he cannot wrestle to take a sip of their beer and shut up. Roman asks Dean if he is a fighting champ. Roman says he has a rematch and he is coming after Dean.
Seth Rollins comes out and he says that is not how it works. He worked his ass off for seven months and he achieved his dream last night when he beat Roman fair and square. Go to the back of the line. Seth points out that Dean came out and stole his title.
Roman asks Seth if it did not feel good. Seth says that at least he did it to Roman’s face. He says he never lost the title and he tells Roman to scurry to the back of the line. Roman asks Seth if he didn’t lose the title, why is it on Dean’s shoulder. Seth points out that he said that Dean stole it from him. Roman says there is an easy way to settle this and he gets in Seth’s face. He says there is nothing to settle between them because he beat him.
Seth is interrupted by Shane McMahon’s music and he shuffles on the stage.
Shane congratulates Dean on winning both the Money in the Bank ladder match and successfully cashing it in to become WWE Champion. He says that there is a simple solution to see who faces the champion first. He says that we should have a match between the two of you.
Seth says they had the match last night. Seth asks Shane if he consulted with Stephanie about the match. Shane talks to invisible Stephanie next to him and she says it is a good idea. He says that Stephanie is not here tonight. With the draft, we are not going to wait until the pay per view or even Smackdown. We are doing it tonight and then Shane does more shuffling.
– Michael Cole mentions that the draft will take place on July 19th on the first Tuesday live Smackdown.
– Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are walking in the back as we go to commercial.
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens
The bell rings and they exchange punches until Owens goes to the floor. Zayn follows Owens to the floor and clotheslines him. Zayn slams Owens’ head into the apron and then sends Kevin into the ring. Owens Irish whips Zayn into the ringside barrier but Zayn jumps onto the barrier and hits a quebrada onto Owens. Owens is sent into the ring but he goes to the floor. Owens with a kick and Zayn Irish whips Owens into the ringside barrier. Zayn runs into a boot and Owens goes into the crowd. Zayn grabs Owens and sends him back over the ringside barrier. Owens catches Zayn off the barrier and then he runs Zayn into the ringside barrier and ring post. Owens with a back senton for a near fall as we go to commercial.
We are back and the Headlock Master is showing his wares. We see Owens dropping Zayn on the top rope during the commercial break for a near fall. Owens goes for another back senton but Zayn gets his knees up. Owens chases after Zayn and Zayn backs up to the ropes and Zayn pulls the ropes down and Owens goes over the top to the floor. Zayn with a flip dive onto Owens.
Zayn goes to the turnbuckles but Owens stops him and sets for a superplex. Zayn with forearms and a head butt. Zayn leaps over Owens and Owens with a super kick for a near fall. Owens sets for a package piledriver but Zayn escapes and Zayn with a half nelson German suplex. Zayn runs into a super kick and Zayn counters a pop up power bomb into a victory roll for the three count.
Winner: Sami Zayn
After the match, Owens hits Zayn from behind as he goes up the ramp. Owens goes for a package piledriver off the ramp but Zayn escapes and then Zayn punches Owens. Officials have to come out to separate both men. However, Owens gets to his feet and the officials let him go and he attacks Zayn again. Officials finally realize they have to hold Owens to stop him from doing anything.
We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Owens and Zayn are exchanging punches in the back while Officials watch and scream stuff. More security gets involved, but I don’t think it will work. Zayn leaps off a storage case and he punches Owens. Fit Finlay and Road Dogg get involved and order is kind of restored.
In the Arena:
John Laurinaitis makes his way to the Smackdown lectern and he introduces himself. John says that with the announcement of the draft on the first live Smackdown…
Shane comes out and John says he is talking to his WWE Universe.
John tells Shane he looks great but Shane wants to know what John is doing here. John says he is talking to the WWE Universe. He says Big Johnny is throwing his name in the hat to run Smackdown. Shane says that will not happen because a corporate yes man will not run Smackdown. Shane says that someone who has the fans in mind to run Smackdown. It will be someone who wants change.
Shane says that he will be the run to run Smackdown. John says that Shane should run Smackdown and then Big Johnny can run Raw, as he runs to the Raw lectern. Shane tells Johnny that he is embarassing him and they leave.
In the Arena:
Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady come out and they do their usual introduction.
Enzo says he heard Johnny Laryngitis cough into the mic and it sounded like PURE MANURE. If he had a dime for every time that Johnny opened his mouth and said something relevant… HE WOULD HAVE ZERO DIMES. Colin says that Johnny might have been a Dynamic Dude in the past, but this is the new era and he has a word to describe Johnny. We go to commercial.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains
We come back from a break and Simon Gotch is out with Aiden English as we see what happened to Enzo at Payback. Enzo and Aiden start the match off and lock up.
Enzo with a side head lock and Enzo holds on as Aiden tries to send him off the ropes. Aiden gets to the ropes and he punches Enzo on the break. Aiden with kicks. Aiden with a punch and Simon tags in. They chop Enzo and then connect with punches and Simon gets a near fall. Simon with a knee and Aiden tags back in. Simon with a snap mare and springboard kick followed by a kick from Aiden for a near fall.
Aiden with a cross face and he poses. Aiden chokes Enzo and tags Simon back in. Simon with a quarter nelson and chin lock. Enzo with a flatline into the turnbuckles but Aiden tags in and Enzo with a drop kick. Colin tags in and clotheslines Aiden followed by a splash to Simon. Colin with a clothesline and elbow drop. Colin with a boot to knock Simon off the apron. Colin with a fallaway slam and then Enzo tags in for the Rocket Launcher and the three count.

In the Arena:
We are back and AJ Styles makes his way to the ring.
We see what happened at Money in the Bank when AJ defeated John Cena with some help from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
AJ says you all sound happy and he should feel happy. He says he envisioned this moment for years. He dreamt about it and then it became a reality. This dream match between John Cena and AJ Styles was tainted by two guys who were supposed to be more than brothers to him. He beat John Cena. AJ says that he beat John Cena.
It was not how he dreamt it and he did not expect Gallows and Anderson to get involved. He wants Luke and Karl to make their way to the ring to make a public apology if the Club is going to continue.
Luke and Karl make their way to the ring.
Styles talks to them about how he had the match won. He says they just gave Cena an excuse and pulled his name through the mud. AJ tells Anderson to look him in the eyes and apologize first. Anderson apologizes and fans boo. Gallows is next. He also apologizes. They ask if everything is cool but AJ wants them to apologize to one more person – John Cena himself. AJ calls Cena out to accept the apologies. The music hits and put comes Cena with a mic.
John says he does not need an apology. They had a contract and you broke it. Luke tells John it was not AJ’s fault. AJ had no idea that they were going to get involved last night so he is sorry. Karl tells John that AJ signed the contract but they did not. They took advantage of that fact and for that, he is sorry. AJ tells John they are sorry.
John says you are fighting to survive in the WWE and you needed a win desperately and you did it by any means necessary. This is a moment you should be congratulated. Maybe a number one contender. You use your Club like an apology or maybe you are proving you are not as good as you say you are. AJ says that John is using Luke and Karl as an excuse because maybe you aren’t as good as you are.
John says he respects the win. Winning is the key to success in WWE. When you win night in and night out, that is what a champion is made of. What you don’t get is right up there with winning is being a man of your word. When your back is against the wall, you have two things, your balls and your word. Last night you proved you have neither one of them.
AJ says Karl and Luke did you a favor. AJ says he does not care about the fans. Luke and Karl gave you an excuse. He will give John the option of any member of the Club to face tonight.
John comes to the ring and he says that he choses AJ Styles.
AJ says he was not finished and he says any member of the Club but him. They got involved and should be punished. AJ says he has the Stone Cold Podcast tonight and he already beat John. AJ asks which one will it be.
John asks if it matters. You are riding real high of the win last night and the apology tonight. It does not matter which he chooses. One will be in the ring and two will be on the floor. He says he wishes AJ signed the contract for Cena versus the Club. John says in a fair fight, he would knock each of their teeth down their throat.
AJ says that John is wrong and people don’t like you because you always think you have to be right. AJ says he is a man of his word. It will be Karl Anderson versus John Cena, one on one. AJ says Karl Anderson will knocks John’s teeth down his throat and you will realize you are not as good as you think. AJ wishes John luck and then he mentions his appearance on the Stone Cold Podcast later tonight. We go to commercial.
Karl Anderson vs. John Cena
Cena punches Anderson and then he gives Karl a hard Irish whip. Cena with another hard Irish whip. Cena with a suplex. John with a clothesline and then he slams Anderson. Cena with another clothesline. Cena with a Blue Thunder Bomb and then he signals for the Five Knuckle Shuffle and connects. Cena with an Attitude Adjustment and Styles and Gallows attack Cena on the cover. The referee calls for the bell.
Winner: John Cena (by disqualification)
After the match, they attack Cena and Anderson and Gallows hit the Magic Killer. Styles sets for the Styles Clash and he hits it. They all poses to end the segment.
– The announcers argue about The Club and their behavior.
Backstage:
JoJo is with Seth Rollins in the interview area. She asks him about his match against Roman Reigns. Seth says he wants to talk about last night. It was about proving things. When he won his title back last night, he proved that he was the best and that Roman never deserved to be a champion. He says Dean proved something last night when he snuck up from behind and hit him in the back of the head with the briefcase. Dean proved he was a cockroach and a thief. Now he has to prove himself again. He beat Roman last night and he will beat him again tonight. He will beat Dean and then show who the best member of the Shield is. We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Renee Young is with Becky Lynch. Renee asks about having another friend stab her in the back.
Becky says it is not good. She has had Paige and Charlotte do it and now Natalya. If this means she is the last one with sportsmanship then she is doing something right. She does not know why Natalya did what she did. She is taking the knife out of her back. It is one strike and you are out.
Natalya attacks Becky from behind and she says that she is going to be taking care of herself.
Zack Ryder vs. Baron Corbin
They lock up and Corbin sends Ryder away. Corbin has something in his eye and the referee stops Ryder, but it was a ruse and he punches Ryder. Corbin with a knee to the midsection. Corbin chokes Ryder in the ropes and the referee warns him. Corbin with a forearm but Ryder with a kick and forearms. Ryder with punches in the corner and he sets for the Broski Boot but Corbin gets to the floor. Ryder with a baseball slide and drop kick to send Corbin into the ringside barrier. Ryder with an elbow drop for a near fall.
Ryder with an Irish whip but Corbin slides to the floor and comes back in with a clothesline for a near fall. Ryder with a shoulder and he goes for a slingshot move and Corbin with a foraerm followed by End of Days for the three count.
Winner: Baron Corbin
– We take a look at the announcement of the latest WWE venture in China. Back to commercial.
– We are back with a Wyatt Family video. He says he was once afraid, but no longer.
– Michael Cole mentions the WWE Women’s Title Match between Paige and Charlotte and we see why the match is taking place. We see Paige’s victory over Charlotte when Becky and Natalya were still friends.
Backstage:
Renee Young is with Paige in the interview area. Renee asks Paige about her recent success.
Paige says they aren’t strangers. They had a strange sisterhood back in the day. She says she has been a little lost lately. Paige yells at Renee about what is she looking at and we see Charlotte and Dana Brooke.
Charlotte says last week was a fluke and it was all Dana’s fault. Charlotte says that when PCB broke up, she went to the top while Paige sunk to the bottom of the sea. Paige says the ring is her house and the title will look amazing around her waist. She asks Charlotte what is Dana. When she wins tonight, it will all fall on Charlotte. We go to commercial.
WWE Women’s Title Match: Paige vs. Charlotte
We go to the ring and out comes Paige to a pop. WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte is out next with Dana Brooke.
They lock up and Charlotte with a rollup for a near fall. They lock up again and Paige with a side head lock but Charlotte with a rollup. Paige with a shoulder tackle. Charlotte pushes Paige but Paige with kicks and a drop kick. Paige with a running knee into the corner followed by a series of knees to the head. Dana pulls Charlotte to the floor and Paige with a punch to Dana and Charlotte with a forearm and then Charlotte and Dana pose as we go to commercial.
We are back and Charlotte with a figure four head scissors and she rolls Paige around the ring. Paige sends Charlotte to the mat for a near fall. Paige with a back slide for a near fall. Paige wtih kicks to send Charlotte to the mat. Paige with another kick and a running knee to the head for a near fall. Paige runs into a boot in the corner but Charlotte misses a boot and then Paige hits a Fallaway slam. Paige puts Charlotte on the turnbuckles and punches her. Charlotte kicks Paige but Paige punches Charlotte and sets for a superplex.
Charlotte send Paige face first to the mat and sets for a moonsault and hits it for a near fall. Paige with a crucifix cover for a near fall. Charlotte with a crucifix of her own. Paige with an inside cradle as a counter to the figure four. Paige with a kick and then she hits RamPaige but by the ropes so Dana pulls the foot under the rope to stop the count. The referee sends Dana to the back and Charlotte hits Natural Selection for the three count.
Winner: Charlotte
After the match, Dana sends Paige into the mat and Charlotte hits an Exploder.
Sasha Banks’ music plays and she makes her way to the stage. Dana goes to stop Sasha and Sasha kicks Dana. Sasha enters the ring and she keeps Charlotte from leaving and Sasha hits the Lungblower. Dana hits Sasha from behind but Paige stops Dana. Sasha and Paige are in the ring together and Sasha holds the belt.
– Roman Reigns is in the back and JoJo asks him about the match tonight. Roman says he is not going out there to prove anything. He is going to show that he is THE GUY who beats Seth Rollins.
– We see Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan. Bray Wyatt appears and he says ‘We’re Here’. We go to commercial.
In the Arena:
The Wyatt Family makes their way to the ring as Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman flank Bray Wyatt.
Bray asks if everyone missed him. Bray says they have been locked away. They have been punished but through it all, they have never forgotten what they stand for. The Wyatts are as strong as they have ever been.
Big E interrupts the return of Bray and the New Day make their way to the stage.
Xavier says you have been talking way too long and you need to cut it. Kofi says that they will take a knee. Big E says they will confess about something. He says Erick Rowan has a big old booty. Xavier starts to walk in a trance but he is stopped by Kofi and Big E to do the WWE World Tag Team Champions.
Bray laughs and he says he hopes you understand what you have just done. You interrupt him on his return. He says he can see your future. He knows that in your future, New Day Falls. Bray tells them to run as we cut to commercial.
– We are back with the latest Life Lesson with Coach Backlund. Darren tells Bob he has great news for him. He has been reading a lot. Bob says books are like dumbbells for the brain. Darren says that poetry has been giving him some great advice. Bob tells Darren never to take advice from anyone. Darren asks why should he take advice from Bob. Bob says he does not give advice, he gives orders. He tells Darren to do 100 high knees. Bob says he is trying to make Darren Young great again and he tells him to go faster.
Rusev vs. Titus O’Neil
Lana is in the ring to introduce the Greatest United States Champion of All Time.
We see Renee Young in the interview area with Titus O’Neil. Renee mentions the match he asked for tonight. Titus says it is not about wins or losses or the United States title. It is about Rusev disrespecting him and his sons last night. Rusev sent a message last night, but he has a message tonight. DON’T DISRESPECT ME OR MY FAMILY.
Before the bell rings, Titus punches Rusev and Rusev punches back. Titus gets on top and he punches Rusev. Rusev backs Titus into the corner and connects with shoulders. Titus with a knee and boot to the head. Titus sends Rusev into the ringside barrier and punches him. Rusev wtih forearms and then Rusev sends Titus into the ring post. Titus sends Rusev into the ringside barrier and then tosses him into the barrier. Titus Irish whips Rusev into the ringside barrier.
Rusev kicks Titus but Titus clotheslines Rusev over the ringside barrier into YeatonVille. Rusev retreats trough the crowd as Titus goes back into the ring. The bell never even rang. Titus’ music hits and he stands tall as we go to commercial.
– Michael Cole mentions that the General Managers will be picking the rosters on July 19th. Cole wonders if Miz and Maryse will be split up.
– We go to the latest Miz report and he is with Maryse and his dog. He says they like to eat in the common area to make it one big happy family. Someone brings food for Miz and Miz swats it away. Maryse tell him that her husband wants quail. MIz lectures him about his actions and then Maryse fires him. We see the crew watching in shock and Miz calms down.
Backstage:
Shane is in his office and Chris Jericho is standing there. Chris says he has been waiting for Shane and he knows that he has it out for him. He hasn’t liked him for fifteen years. That is why you cancelled the Highlight Reel and that is why you didn’t give him the number one contender match. Shane says that he lost the Asylum match and did not win the Money in the Bank match.
Chris says Shane is allowing a barbarian to be his champion. A man who put 69 tacks into his body. Instead of fining him or suspending him, you made him your champion. That is a decision made by a stupid idiot. Shane tells Chris not to call him stupid or those 69 tacks will feel like nothing. Chris says he hopes he is drafted to the show that Shane is not on. He would rather have ten Stephanie McMahons in charge of him. Shane says he’s running both shows and Jericho doesn’t believe that’ll happen if he keeps making decisions like this.
Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns
We go to the ring and out comes WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose to join the announcers for commentary. Back to commercial.
We come back and Ambrose is on commentary as Seth Rollins makes his way out. The winner of this match will face Ambrose for the title at the July 24th Battleground pay-per-view. Roman Reigns is out next.
Reigns wtih a shoulder tackle followed by a clothesline. Reigns runs Rollins into the corner and connects with a shoulder. Reigns sends Rollins into the turnbuckles. Reigns with a knee to the midsection. Rollins goes to the floor to regroup. Rollins pulls Reigns to the floor and punches him. Reigns Irish whips Rollins into the ringside barrier. Reigns sends Rollins into the announce table. Reigns does it again and he takes off the cover to the table.
Reigns goes back into the ring and he walks into a boot from Rollins. Rollins with a Blockbuster for a near fall. Rollins with kicks to Reigns. Rollins with a neck breaker. Rollins kicks Reigns in the corner. Rollins with a drop kick for a near fall. Rollins with a reverse chin lock. Rollins sends Reigns to the floor and Rollins sends Reigns into the ringside barrier. Rollins punches Reigns and they continue to battle on the floor. Rollins with more punches. Reigns is sent back into the ring and Reigns with uppercuts. Rollins with a kick and clothesline.
Rollins punches Reigns. Rollins sends Reigns into the turnbuckles. Reigns with a punch and then he is sent to the floor. Rollins goes for a knee off the apron but Reigns moves and Reigns punches Rollins as we go to commercial.
We are back and Rollins with a sleeper. We see footage of Rollins connecting with a boot to the head during the commercial break. Rollins gets on Reigns’ back to add more pressure to the hold. Reigns gets back to a vertical base but Rollins with a kick. Reigns with forearms and punches to Rollins but the referee pulls Reigns away as Rollins falls to the mat. Reigns pulls Rollins off the ropes but Rollins lands on his feet and hits an enzuigiri but Roman stays on his feet. Rollins and Reigns exchange punches. Reigns with head butts and a flying clothesline to Rollins.
Reigns with Neverending Story in the corner but Rollins sends Reigns into the turnbuckle with a flatline. Rollins sends Reigns to the floor and Rollins with a suicide dive. Rollins with a running forearm into the corner and then he hits a second one. Reigns gets Rollins up for a Samoan drop but Rollins gets to his feet and applies a waist lock. Roman with a standing switch and rollup into a one arm sit out power bomb and Reigns gets a near fall.
Reigns sets for the Superman punch but Rollins with a kick. Rollins tries for a Pedigree but Reigns with a back body drop and Rollins lands on his feet. Reigns with a Superman Punch as Rollins comes off the ropes. Reigns sets for the spear but Rollins with a kick. Reigns pushes Rollins into the corner and puts him on the turnbuckles. Reigns punches Rollins off the turnbuckles. Rollins lands on the apron and hits an enzuigiri followed by a springboard knee and kick for a near fall.
Rollins goes up top and he misses a frog splash when Roman moves. Reigns with the Juggernaut Broad Jump Drop Kick. Reigns looks around and moves stuff on the Spanish Announce Table. Reigns puts Rollins on the table but Rollins gets to the floor and hits an enzuigiri to knock Reigns off the table. Reigns pulls Rollins out of the ring but it broke the referee’s count. Reigns spears Rollins over the Spanish Announce Table. The referee starts his count.
The referee makes the ten count and neither man makes it into the ring in time.
Double Count Out
After the match, Shane McMahon comes out and he is serious so there is no shuffling. Shane says we need a Number One Contender for Battleground.
Dean Ambrose gets into the ring and he says this is how he will do it. He will face both men in the same night. Shane says you can fight both of them on the same night and at the same time. All three members of the Shield will battle for the Title at Battleground in a Triple Threat Match.
Ambrose gets in Rollins’ face and then Reigns. Reigns grabs Ambrose and Ambrose kicks him and hits the double underhook DDT. Rollins stands over Reigns and Ambrose returns to the ring to hit the double underhook DDT on Rollins.
We go to credits.
