WWE NXT Results – March 2, 2016

Tonight, the current NXT Champion faces a former NXT Champion tonight when Finn Balor and Neville meet in the ring to find out which man can defy gravity enough to get their hand raised as the victor.

We are in Orlando, Florida and your announcers are Tom Phillips and Corey Graves.

Match Number One:  Aiden English and Simon Gotch versus Hugo Knox and Tucker Knight

Knox starts things off with English and they lock up.  English wit a forearm to the midsection followed by an Irish whip and Knox with a float over and drop kick.  Knox with a shot to Gotch on the apron but English hits Knox from behind and Irish whips Knox into the corner.  Gotch tags in and they connect with a double chop and double punch.  Gotch with a chin lock.  Gotch with a European uppercut and then he puts Knox on the turnbuckles and he kicks Knox to the mat.  English tags in and he punches Knox and rubs his face in the mat.

Gotch tags back in and English with an Irish Whip and elbow in the corner.  Gotch with a running European uppercut and he poses.  Gotch returns to the chin lock.  Gotch with a front face lock.  Knox makes the tag to Knight and Knight with body tackles.  Gotch with a boot to the temple and English tags in.  They hit the Whirling Dervish for the three count.

Winners:  Aiden English and Simon Gotch

Tom and Corey talk about the Women’s Division and the issues between Dana Brooke and Asuka.

Alex Reyes is with Dana and Emma and he brings up Deanna’s loss to Asuka.  Dana says Deanna is a nobody.  When they say something is going to happen, it will happen.  Emma says she is going to make an example of her opponent tonight while Alex is emasculated in three… two… one.

We go to a video on Finn Balor.

We go to commercial.

We take a look at the footage from last week of the attack on Enzo Amore by Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, who are now known as the Revival.

We get comments from Enzo and Colin.  Colin says if you want to jump Enzo and want to keep them out of the tag team division, you showed you are gutless.  There will be nowhere for you to hide when they face them the next time.

Dash shows his arm in a sling.  He says that you are cowards.  Scott says they won the titles by being the best in the business.

At Roadblock, The Revival will defend the NXT Tag Titles against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

Match Number Two:  Emma (with Dana Brooke) versus Santana Garrett

They lock up and Emma backs Santana into the turnbuckles and gives a clean break.  Emma with a kick and she sends Santana into the turnbuckles.  Emma sends Santana into the turnbuckles again.  Emma with forearms to Santana and she sends Santana into the turnbuckles again.  Santana blocks being sent into the turnbuckles with her leg but Emma kicks Santana in the leg and then hits a butterfly suplex.  Emma stands on Santana’s hair.  Emma with a snap mare and kick to the back.

Emma kicks Santana in the head a few times but Santana with punches and a head butt.  Emma with a drop kick and Santana is down.  Emma punches Santana and the referee warns her.  Emma asks Dana how she is doing and Dana approves of what she has seen.  Emma stretches Santana in the ropes and the referee warns Emma.  Emma with a forearm to the back.  Emma stretches Santana with her knee in Santana’s back.

Emma with knees to the back and she returns to stretching Santana.  Santana with a head butt, but Emma runs Santana into the turnbuckles.  Santana with boots to Emma followed by clotheslines.  Santana with a side Russian leg sweep.  Santana with a handspring back elbow into the corner and she goes up top for a moosault but Emma crotches Santana and puts her in the tree of woe.  Emma with kicks to Santana and then Dana gets a few shots in while Emma talks to the referee.

Emma slaps Santana but Santana with a jackknife cover for a near fall.  Emma sets for the Emma Lock and she applies it and Santana taps out.

Winner: Emma

Eva Marie and Nia Jax are in WIlliam Regal’s office.  He says that he saw their interview and they make compelling cases that they are big stars and need to be treated accordingly.  William says that he has set up their next tag match.  It will be against Bayley and Asuka.  William says he has to meet NXT’s biggest new acquisition.  William leaves and Eva and Nia are not in a good mood.

We go to commercial.

We are back and William Regal is in the ring.  He says that NXT is dedicated to bring the absolute best, the top competitors from around the world.  William says that he is honored to introduce one of their biggest signings to date…

Austin Aries.

Aries makes his way to the ring… but he is attacked from behind by Baron Corbin before he can get to the ring.

Corbin with knees to Aries and then he sends Aries into the matrix board on the apron.  Corbin punches Aries and then he removes Aries’ jacket and shirt.  Corbin with End of Days while Regal watches from the ring.

Corbin tells Regal and Eye for An Eye and he throws the shirt in Regal’s face and he leaves.

Officials check on Aries as we go to commercial.

We are back with a Moments Ago Moment of the brutal attack by Baron Corbin on Austin Aries.

Match Number Three:  Steve Cutler versus Elias Samson

They lock up and Samson backs Cutler into the corner and he applies a side head lock.  Cutler with forearms but Samson with a head scissors and Cutler escapes.  Samson with a kick and chop.  Samson kicks Cutler and connects with forearms.  Samson with European uppercuts and punches.  Samson with a knee drop and the referee checks on Cutler.

Samson with a back elbow to Cutler.  Samson plays some air acoustic guitar and then he connects with a forearm to the head.  Cutler with a kick but Samson kicks back and connects with punches before being warned by the referee.  Samson with a suplex and then hits a leaping elbow drop.  Cutler with a jumping knee to the head and then Samson with a the swinging neck breaker for the three count.

Winner:  Elias Samson

Mojo says that he was glad they lost the first time.  Maybe they partied to much.  They have to be serious and show that the Vaudevillains they messed with the wrong team.  Ryder says there is no derailing the Hype Dream.  Mojo says that they should rough them up so bad they can’t speak.

Simon and Aiden appear after Mojo and Zack leave.  They smile at each other.

We go to a video package for Neville.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we are promised that next week, we will find out who the Number One Contender will be for Finn Balor when Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn meet in a two out of three falls match.

Match Number Four:  Neville versus Finn Balor

They circle each other before locking up and the crowd anticipates something good is about to happen.  They lock up and Balor with a clean break and a pat on the chest.  They go for a test of strength and Finn with a wrist lock and take down.  Neville gets to his feet and Balor holds on to the wrist lock but Neville reverses.  Balor with a reversal and side head lock take down into a side head lock.

Neville tries to send Balor off the ropes but Balor holds on.  Balor with a shoulder tackle but Neville with a hip toss and cartwheel followed by a drop kick.  Balor wit a reverse chin lock and Neville backs Balor into the corner.  Neville with a side head lock out of a break in the corner and side head lock take down.  Neville with a sunset flip but Balor rolls through and hits a drop kick.  Balor with a side head lock take down.  Neville with a shot to the lower abdomen against the ropes.  Neville with a suplex and near fall.

Neville with an elbow to the top of the head.  Neville with a hard Irish whip.  Neville watches Balor struggling to move as we go to commercial.

We are back and Neville with a knee drop and he gets a near fall.  Neville with a reverse chin lock.  Neville with a short arm clothesline.  Neville with an elbow in the corner.  Neville with another elbow in the corner.  Neville is back dropped over the top rope to the floor and Neville hits the ring steps before hitting the floor.

Balor with forearms to Neville but Neville with a running body block and Balor goes to the floor.  Neville with an Asai Moonsault onto Balor on the floor.  Neville sends Balor into the ring and then he gets a near fall.  Neville with a sleeper into a chin lock submission.  Neville turns it into a reverse chin lock.  Balor with punches and a series of kicks.  Neville with a forearm but Balor wit a chop.  Balor with a Pele kick and both men are down.

The referee starts his count and both men struggle to get back to their feet.  Balor wit a running chop into the corner.  Balor with an Irish whip and running chop.  Balor with two more and Neville goes down and rolls to the floor.  Balor with a baseball slide to Neville on the floor.  Balor wtih a running kick to the head from the apron.  Balor rolls Neville back into the ring and he gets a near fall.

Balor sets for a reverse suplex but Neville gets to his feet.  Neville with his kick combination and then he hits a German suplex as Balor comes off the ropes for extra impact.  Neville with a deadlift German suplex for a near fall.  Neville goes to the turnbuckles and he sets for the Red Arrow but Balor gets up and Neville leaps over Balor.  Neville with an enzuigiri and Neville goes back up but Balor with an enzuigiri to knock Neville to the floor.  Balor with a flip dive onto Neville on the floor.

Finn goes up top for the Coup de Grace but Neville crotches Balor.  Neville climbs the turnbuckles for a super rana and he hits it.  Neville goes up top for the Red Arrow but Balor moves and Neville lands on his feet.  Balor with Slingblade and Balor misses a charge into the corner.  Neville with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall.  Balor blocks a kick and hits a clothesline on Neville.  Balor with the running drop kick to send Neville into the corner.  Balor goes up top for Coup de Grace and then Balor hits Bloody Sunday for the three count.

Winner:  Finn Balor

After the match, Balor applauds Neville’s performance along with the people in the arena.  Neville offers his hand and Balor shakes it.

Rich Brennan is with Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe in the interview area.  Neither man will look at the other.  Joe says it should be easy, but he stands in the vicinity of one of the most ungrateful men because he would not be walking if Joe did not show up in NXT.

Sami says that Joe’s entire run has been predicated on the hard work of others.  He made this place great so Joe could come in and challenge for the NXT Title.  Your success will not be at Sami’s expense.

Joe says next week he takes it away from Sami.
