Becky Lynch On Not Accomplishing Her NXT Goal, Being In Title Match At WrestleMania, Finn Balor

Recently on Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast, WWE’s resident ‘Lass Kicker’, Becky Lynch, addressed a number of topics including her upcoming WrestleMania 32 triple threat match for the WWE Divas Championship with Charlotte and Sasha Banks, the differences between being in NXT and WWE’s so-called main roster, and whether NXT Champion Finn Bálor is jealous that he will not be at WrestleMania.

On the subject of having a high profile WrestleMania 32 match, Lynch expressed excitement over being in a championship contest with two women who have meant so much to her WWE career.

“I think it’s almost too big for my brain to comprehend right now, but I know when I’m there, then, I think that’s going to add everything. But for now, my sole focus is on this match.” Lynch explained, “to be there with two people who I respect so much and who I’ve worked with so long and who’ve been such and important part of my journey, knowing that I’ve started with NXT, like, less than three years ago, and now being in a top spot at WrestleMania, it’s just unbelievable and unfathomable.”

Lynch admitted that being NXT Women’s Champion was a goal of hers, but she is okay with not accomplishing it since she bypassed it to go to the main roster.

“That was a goal of mine, but I missed that goal. I skipped it and sometimes you don’t get every shot that you take, but every shot that you do take is getting you closer to scoring the goal, so whether I won, whether I lost, whether I lose again, I’m going to keep trying and now the goal keeps getting higher and higher and the stakes get higher and it gets harder. But, ultimately, my eye has always been on the top spot. That’s being the champion up here.”

When asked what are the main differences between being on NXT and the main roster, Lynch claimed that it is harder to fit workouts and meal preparation into her schedule when she is on the road with WWE.

“Training, obviously, you don’t have nearly as much time to train. You don’t have as much I time to prepare your food when you’re on the road. You might not get as much time to sleep,” Lynch said. “I just love traveling and especially road tripping around America and everything like that. You get to see these, like, cool little towns that I never would’ve seen before.”

As for whether Lynch thinks Bálor is jealous that she will make it to WrestleMania before him, Lynch quickly said that she doubts that her former trainer would think that way.

“No, I don’t think so for a single second. Knowing Finn, I think he is probably just at home supporting me knowing that he’s going to be there very soon and in the main event.”
