Intercontinental Title Match at WrestleMania a Fatal 5 Way?, Former WWE Star Backstage at Smackdown (Photo), Less Commercial Time For WWE TV Shows

– TV By The Numbers has an article on how NBCUniversal will be cutting back on the number of commercials that viewers see in primetime in 2018-2019. The change is scheduled to begin in the fall of this year. Shows across NBCU’s various channels, including the USA Network, will feature around 20% fewer ads along with a 10% reduction in commercial time. It was noted that viewers might see 2 or 3 longer commercials instead of 5 thirty second ads during a break. NBCU is also promoting a “Prime Pod” for advertisers – a 60 second ad break in the first or last commercial of a show, which will be sold to one or two advertisers. It was also noted that a 10% reduction in commercial time could mean an increase of 2-4 minutes in episode length.

– Former WWE star Shad Gaspard of Cryme Tyme was backstage at last night’s SmackDown Live in Los Angeles. Gaspard, who recently did stunt work for the blockbuster Black Panther movie, posted the photo below on Instagram backstage with his son:

– According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz is now scheduled to defend his title in a Fatal 5 Way at WrestleMania 34. The match is currently scheduled to feature Miz, Elias, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.

We’ve noted how the original plan was to do Strowman vs. Miz in a singles match but this week’s RAW indicated that they had changed the direction and were going with Balor vs. Rollins vs. Miz. It was also teased that the Strowman vs. Elias feud would continue.
