Dave Meltzer reported on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that Bobby Lashley is no longer negotiating with NJPW and confirmed that he will be headed to WWE.
Meltzer revealed that he’s been told by individuals within Impact Wrestling that Lashley is headed to WWE and could appearing at “any moment” now.
Lashley reportedly has nothing to contractually keep him from appearing at tonight’s Royal Rumble event and it’s very possible that he could be the challenger for Bobby Roode’s United States Championship in the open challenge tonight and/or he could appear in The Royal Rumble match.
Meltzer also revealed that there are plans right now for Lashley to feud with Brock Lesnar sometime after WrestleMania 34 this year.
“He is suppose to be coming, at least everyone in Impact and New Japan believe that he could be coming at any moment — now and perhaps a program with Brock Lesnar after Wrestlemania.”
Meltzer continued, “It may not be 100% but people that known Lashley say he’s going to WWE and will be working with Brock at some point probably right after Mania’ or later this year.”
