WWE Smackdown Results – Oct 31, 2017

WWE Smackdown Opener:

Shane McMahon makes his way to the ring and he does the Shane-O Shuffle in the ring.

Shane says everyone wants to know why the blue brand attacked RAW last week and it’s simple. He talks about the impressive milestone of RAW’s 25th Anniversary coming soon, but says people have always looked down at SmackDown. It comes from the top, from his sister RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon, all the way to the bottom. Shane says he wondered what is the one thing they could do to change the perception. They put together a team led by SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan, they went live on Tuesdays and they started having fun, creating the land of opportunity. But that still wasn’t enough. They had a team meeting and came up with the idea, the best way to make a statement was to go to RAW, put them under siege and kick them right in the mouth. Fans chant “under siege” now. Shane says they’ve done that and they have to thank everyone in attendance, those who come to the SmackDown shows, those who watch SmackDown on TV, the roster. Shane wants to thank everyone. He says that’s what SmackDown is about, they have heart. Fans chant Shane’s name.

He goes on talking about Survivor Series, naming Randy Orton and three other of SmackDown’s finest. Shane reveals that he will be Team Captain. Shane says they will see RAW in the ring at Survivor Series but let’s get tonight’s show started.

2 of 3 Falls Match: Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

The music hits and out comes Bobby Roode to a pop as Greg Hamilton makes the introduction. The music hits and out comes Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler’s music is cut as he comes out and Roode stares him down. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Ziggler takes control. Roode fights up and out, dropping Ziggler. Roode shows off some and blocks a superkick. Ziggler avoids a Glorious DDT and takes Roode to the corner for thrusts. Roode ends up flooring Ziggler coming out of the corner as he gets hyped up.

Ziggler looks to fight back but Roode shuts him down and hits a Blockbuster from the corner for a 2 count. We get a replay as Roode works Ziggler over with chops. More back and forth now. Roode tosses Ziggler out of the ring. Roode does a glorious pose in the middle of the ring as fans pop. Roode goes to the floor but Ziggler turns it around. Roode counters and sends Ziggler into the barrier, forcing him down. The referee counts again as we get a replay. They bring it back into the ring and Ziggler hits a superkick for the first fall. We go to commercial.

Ziggler with a running back elbow and he gets a near fall. Ziggler kicks Roode to the floor. Ziggler with punches that sends Roode into the ringside barrier. They return to the ring and Roode kicks Ziggler and punches him. Ziggler wit a kick to the knee followed by a Fameasser for a near fall. Ziggler with a reverse chin lock on Roode. Roode goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Ziggler lands on his feet. Roode catapults Ziggler into the ring post and Roode gets the three count.

Ziggler and Roode exchange punches. Roode takes control but Ziggler with a kick and he misses a Fameasser. Roode with a uranage for a near fall. Ziggler counters a Glorious DDT into a sunset flip. Roode gets a near fall. Ziggler with a hesitation DDT for a near fall. Ziggler wants Roode to get back on his feet and he tries for a Zig Zag but Roode holds on to the ropes. Roode with a spinebuster but Ziggler escapes the Glorious DDT and Ziggler hits a Zig Zag but Roode kicks out.

Ziggler sets for Sweet Chin Music. Roode avoids Ziggler and Ziggler goes into the turnbuckles. Roode with a rollup for a near fall. Ziggler with a rollup for a near fall. Roode with a Glorious DDT for the three count.

Winner: Bobby Roode

After the match, Roode is interviewed by Renee Young. Roode says now there are three members of Team Smackdown. Roode says he hopes the next two teammates share the same passion and competitiveness that they do. Roode says at Survivor Series, Smackdown Up, Raw Down.

Backstage:

The New Day is walking around backstage in their Halloween costumes. Xavier Woods is dressed as “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, but he looks like Katt Williams. Big E is Akeem the Dream. Kofi Kingston is Brother Love, complete with his face being painted red. Rusev and Aiden English come up to them. Rusev asks what’s wrong with them. RAW could be at their doorsteps. Woods says they’re ready to fight no matter what. Rusev says Halloween is a dumb holiday for dumb children. Only one day matters – Aiden English sings, “Rusev Day.” Rusev pours out the candy and stomps on it. Big E is furious and challenges him to a match. Rusev accepts.

Backstage:

Elsewhere backstage, Becky Lynch is talking to the Women’s Division of Smackdown. James Ellsworth is dressed like a dog. Carmella makes him sit. Lynch unites the team before Natalya, the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion, comes up. She tells them to settle their tea kettles. She may not be part of the Women’s Team Smackdown Live, but she’ll be facing Alexa Bliss. On every team is a weak link. Could it be Naomi or Charlotte Flair. If Team Smackdown loses to Team RAW, they can blame Flair.

Baron Corbin makes his way to the ring. He’ll be in action, next.

Baron Corbin vs. Sin Cara

We go to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin for another non-title rematch with Sin Cara. Back to commercial.

They lock up and Corbin with a knee to the midsection and Corbin goes after Cara’s mask. Cara with a head scissors but Corbin with a boot to the head. Corbin sends Cara to the floor. Corbin runs Cara into the ringside barrier. Corbin goes for the mask again and Cara pushes him away. Corbin runs into the ringside barrier. Cara with a kick to send Corbin to the floor. Corbin with a forearm when Cara attempts a suicide dive.

Corbin pulls at the mask as he drags Cara around the ring. The mask is over the chin but Cara gets to the floor. Corbin goes to the floor and Cara with a punch and he runs Corbin into the ring steps. Cara with punches to Corbin on the floor. Cara takes Corbin down from behind and the referee has to separate them. Cara with a spear that sends Corbin across the announce table.

The referee calls for the bell.

No Contest

Cara continues the attack after the match. Corbin tries to get away and Cara throws a chair at Corbin.

Backstage:

Renee Young is with The Usos. Renee asks them about their match at Survivor Series. Jey says it is champion versus champion. Jimmy says they proved they have the Smackdown tag team division on lock. Jimmy says they will be the A Team of the B Show. Jey welcomes Seth and Dean to the Uso Penitentiary. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable stop by and Shelton tells The Usos they get a tag title match next week. Chad says he can speak the Usos’ language and he has his own rap for them.

– Jinder Mahal walks in the back with the Singhs as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and the Singhs come out to bring out Jinder Mahal.

Jinder says last week he was unfairly ejected from ringside because of the fear of what he was going to do to AJ Styles. Someone else should be feeling the exact same fear. That someone is Brock Lesnar. His advocate can bloviate all he wants and Brock can jump around in the ring all he wants, but fear is setting in. At Survivor Series, the beast will be beaten. The beast will be victimized. The beast will be conquered. Jinder says he will be known as the Beastmaster.

Jinder says he will be at ringside to watch Samir face AJ Styles. Jinder addresses the people in Punjabi.

AJ Styles vs. Samir Singh

Samir slaps Styles but Styles with a double leg take down and punches. Styles with a kick and he gets Samir up for the Styles Clash and the three count.

Winner: AJ Styles

After the match, Mahal attacks Styles and he punches and kicks Styles. Mahal with kicks in the corner. Sunil grabs Styles’ leg and Mahal with a kick to Styles. Mahal sends Styles into the ring post ribs first. Mahal with a bow and arrow on Styles around the ring post.

Sunil gets in a few kicks and Mahal pushes Sunil aside. Mahal with the Khallas on Styles. Mahal with a second Khallas to Styles.

Backstage:

Kevin Owens is in his locker room getting ready and Sami Zayn stops by. Sami asks if you can believe it. Kevin says he can. Shane making himself the captain of Team Smackdown is expected. Sami and Kevin talk about Shane taking opportunities from people and giving people he likes a chance. Sami reminds Kevin that he lost with a low blow and Shane did nothing about it. Kevin says he will make things right. He will beat Shinsuke Nakamura and then lead Team Smackdown to victory so Shane will owe them. This will become their show. Sami says it will be the Kevin and Sami show. Kevin says it will be the Sami and Kevin Show. We go to commercial.

– We are back with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in the woods. Luke says there is only one cure. Erick says for moral decay. Luke says and for weakness. They say anger, misery, anguish, and pain. Rowan says they are the cure. They bludgeon the camera in the ground.

In the Arena:

Aiden English and Rusev are in the ring and Aiden requires that everyone stay completely silent (and they don’t listen) while he sings a holiday tune about All Hallow’s Eve. Halloween is for little ghouls. And adults who act like fools. Xavier, Kofi, and Big E can play, but never on a Rusev Day. It’s Rusev Day. It’s Rusev… The New Day interrupt Aiden’s tribute to Rusev Day.

Big E vs. Rusev

Rusev knocks of Big E’s Akeem hat and then he kicks Big E. Big E with an abdominal stretch and he plays Rusev’s rear end as bongos. Big E with a back elbow. Big E kicks Rusev in the corner. Rusev goes to the apron and Big E with punches. Rusev stops Big E from trying for a spear and Rusev pulls Big E into the middle rope. Big E is sent shoulder first into the ring post and he goes to the floor.

Rusev sends Big E into the ring post as he continues to work on the shoulder. Rusev sends Big E back into the ring. Rusev with a key lock and then he kicks Big E. Rusev slams the arm into the mat. Rusev works on the arm in the ropes. Rusev with a wrist lock but Big E with punches. Rusev with a back elbow and then he hits a series of elbow drops on Big E. Rusev has some words for Kofi and Woods and that allows Big E to recover a little but Rusev with an arm bar.

Big E with an arm drag but Rusev returns to the arm bar. Big E with another arm drag and then he hits two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. Rusev misses a clothesline and then Big E hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Big E with a Warrior splash and he waits for Rusev to get up for the Big Ending but Rusev escapes. Rusev with a boot and a thrust kick. Rusev runs into the corner for a uranage and both men are down.

Aiden gets on the announce table and sings about Rusev Day. Aiden attacks Woods and then he goes into the ring and Big E hits a Big Ending on English but Rusev with a jumping thrust kick to the back for the three count.

Winner: Rusev

– Sin Cara walks in the back and Renee Young asks Sin Cara about his mask. He says it represents his familia. To his children, he is their superhero. Baron disrespected him tonight and he will take care of Baron Corbin. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Shane McMahon is in his office texting and Aiden English enters. He laughs about Daniel Bryan. Aiden asks Shane how is he celebrating this holiday and Shane says he loves Halloween. Aiden says he is not talking about Halloween. Rusev announces RUSEV Day. Rusev mentions giving Big E a Big L. Rusev says he should be on Team Smackdown after what happened last week on Raw. Shane gives Rusev a chance to earn his spot on Team Smackdown by beating AJ Styles next week.

Strangerer Things

Fandango feeds some waffles to someone and Tyler enters. Fandango asks who is in the tent and Tyler says it is the Ascension because they ruin everything. Viktor says it couldn’t be them because they are gluten free. Tyler says it is another Eleven but it is Tye Dillinger and he says he is a Ten. Kane attacks but it is not Kane, it is Konnor in a Kane costume. The lights go out and the board of tag teams focuses on the Bludgeon Brothers and they wonder what it means. There are sounds of a scuffle and the lights come back on and we see the briefcase and it shows someone in a mask and it says Let the Games begin.

– Kevin Owens makes his entrance. He’ll face Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event, next. Back to commercial.

Survivor Series Qualifying Match
Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Back from the break and out comes Shinsuke Nakamura to a pop. The bell rings and they go right to work on each other. Owens rolls to the floor early on for a breather. Nakamura taunts him from the ring and tells him to bring it.

Owens hits the ring but Nakamura drops him with a knee to the gut. Nakamura drops a knee to the face for a 2 count. Nakamura with shots in the corner. Nakamura charges but Owens nails a big boot. Owens keeps on and rolls back to the floor for a breather. Nakamura follows but Owens sends him back into the apron. Owens works Nakamura over on the floor now. Nakamura counters and whips Owens hard into the barrier. We go to commercial with Nakamura standing tall on the apron.

Back from the break and Nakamura is in control of Owens in the ring. Owens counters in the corner and drops Nakamura with a superkick for a 2 count. Owens unloads with rights on Nakamura while he’s down now. Owens decks Nakamura and stands tall, yelling about this being his show.

Owens keeps control and drops Nakamura with a big DDT but Nakamura still kicks out. Owens argues with the referee and grinds a forearm into Nakamura’s face. Owens drops elbows to the face now. Owens keeps Nakamura grounded now as a “KO sucks” chant starts. Nakamura finally fights up and out, looking for a comeback now. Nakamura with kicks while Owens is on his knees. Owens catches a kick but Nakamura decks him. Nakamura sends Owens into the corner and follows with a running elbow. Nakamura places Owens on the top turnbuckle and comes charging in. Nakamura with a 2 count.

Sami Zayn makes his way down to ringside as some fans boo. Owens takes advantage and rolls a distracted Nakamura up for a 2 count. Nakamura stuns Owens with another kick and covers for a 2 count. Nakamura takes Owens to the top for a superplex. Owens counters and drives Nakamura into the mat from up high. Nakamura still manages to kick out at 2. Owens and Sami can’t believe it.

Nakamura ends up countering the pop-up powerbomb and taking Owens back down. Nakamura goes on with offense for another 2 count. Nakamura waits for the Kinshasa but Sami pulls Owens to safety. Nakamura isn’t happy and fans boo. Nakamura goes to the floor but Owens comes from behind and sends Nakamura’s knees into the steel, his shoulder hitting the ring post as well. Owens brings Nakamura back into the ring and hits a big Frogsplash for a close 2 count.

Owens tells Sami to clear the announce table off and he does. The music hits and out comes Randy Orton. Owens and Sami look at the ramp waiting for Orton but Orton comes from behind through the crowd and drops Sami back onto the announce table. This leads to Nakamura taking advantage in the ring and nailing a big shot to the jaw, then hitting the Kinshasa on Owens for the pin. Nakamura gets the 4th spot on Team SmackDown at Survivor Series.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

After the match, Nakamura stands tall and celebrates as his music hits. Nakamura looks out at Orton, who is smirking while Sami is laid out on top of the announce table. We get replays. Nakamura poses in the ring as Orton looks on from the floor. Owens stumbles up the ramp and Sami is still out on top of the announce table. SmackDown goes off the air.
