WWE Smackdown Opener:
Tonight’s show begins with a recap of the announcements of the matches for Survivor Series and the appearance of Shane McMahon and the Smackdown brand.
– We’re live from the BMO Harris Bank Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI as Michael Cole welcomes us. Cole is replacing Tom Phillips again this week as Tom is “on assignment” for the company. He’s joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton tonight.
– We go right to the ring and out comes SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon, making his first blue brand appearance since losing to Kevin Owens at WWE Hell In a Cell.
Shane asks Milwaukee’s what’s up and they chant his name. Shane says he’s been undergoing some serious physical rehab over the past few weeks but he’s glad to be back and in charge. A “welcome back” chant starts up. Shane brings up the Survivor Series pay-per-view and says it’s the only time RAW and SmackDown go head-to-head. He learned at a young age that it’s always best to strike first in a big fight, which is why he and some of the SmackDown Superstars made a visit to RAW last week. Shane says Kurt angle desperately called him and needed a TLC opponent for Finn Balor’s Demon character, and that’s when it hit him… “they” then decided to send AJ Styles and let him stay for another night to appear on RAW. Shane goes on about some of Angle’s comments and says Angle didn’t know there were other SmackDown stars waiting to run wild. Shane says that’s when “Under Siege” was unleashed. Fans chant “under siege” next. Shane says they caught RAW by surprise but he guarantees they won’t be caught the same way because SmackDown is ready. The music interrupts and out comes Sami Zayn.
Sami says hello to Shane and then he says it is good to see him. Sami says no hard feelings about Hell in a Cell, but Shane refuses to shake his hand and Shane says there were hard feelings. Shane asks Sami about his own physical health after Sami pulled Kevin out of the way. Shane says he could have been hurt and then to add insult to injury, you put Kevin Owens on top of him for the one, two, three.
Sami says Shane is out here as the commissioner of Smackdown, but if you were Shane McMahon ‘the competitor’, he would take out Shane in one second. He would leave Shane hurting worse than he was after Hell in a Cell. Sami says maybe that is for another day. Sami says his good buddy and brother Kevin Owens, have mulled it over and they will be part of Smackdown at Survivor Series. They will do what they do every night, they will put the burden on their shoulders and carry the brand. Sami says Shane wants them to represent them at Survivor Series. Sami says you need them to represent Smackdown at Survivor Series. Sami says Shane is a lot of things, but he is not a stupid man, except when he takes one of his stupid death defying risks.
Sami says that he and Kevin have made themselves available for Smackdown. Shane says he does not want them or need them to represent Smackdown at Survivor Series. Shane says he will give Sami an opportunity. All he has to do is beat his opponent. Whoever wins is the first member on the team at Survivor Series. Shane says that Sami will face Randy Orton. Shane’s music hits and he leaves as Sami shakes his head.

– We see The New Day walking backstage. There is fruit laying on a table with a “raw fruit” sign. They trash the fruit because it’s “raw” fruit. Up next, The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable.
The New Day vs. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable
Back from the break and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos are on commentary. The New Day is out first for the match. The #1 contenders Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable are out next.
Woods and Gable start things off and Gable with a shoulder tackle. Woods with a drop kick. Benjamin and Kingston tag in. Kofi with a hammer lock but Benjamin with a monkey flip and Kofi lands on his feet. Kofi with a monkey flip and Benjamin lands on his feet. Kofi with a kick and Woods with a sliding clothesline. Kofi with a knee drop and Woods with a splash for a near fall. Benjamin clotheslines Kofi over the top rope to the floor.
We go split screen as the match continues. Gable tags in and he sends Kofi into the ring and kicks him in the corner. Gable with punches and he gets a near fall. Gable with a key lock. Gable lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt and he hits a t-bone suplex on Kofi. Benjamin tags in and they kick Kofi and follow with a running double knee strike for a near fall. Benjamin with a suplex. Benjamin with a reverse chin lock. Benjamin with a short arm clothesline and then he hits a second one.
Gable tags in and he kicks Kofi in the corner. Gable gets a near fall and then he Irish whips Kofi. Benjamin tags in and he sets for a butterfly suplex but Kofi with punches. Benjamin hits the butterfly suplex and gets a near fall. Kofi with a DDT and both men are down. Woods and Gable tag in and Woods with running forearms and then he hits a drop kick to the back for a near fall. Woods is sent to the apron by Gable but Woods with a forearm. Gable with a Liger Kick for a near fall. Benjamin tags in and they hit a double hip toss into a double suplex for a near fall.
Benjamin goes for a suplex but Woods with a knee to the head followed by a forearm and knee to the temple for a near fall. Benjamin with a spinebuster and he tags in Gable. Gable goes up top and Kofi drop kicks Benjamin but Gable with a clothesline off the turnbuckles. Woods is pushed into the ropes and Benjamin with a kick to the back of the head and Gable gets the three count.
Winners: Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin
After the match, the Usos mention how Benjamin and Gable cheated to win. Cole suggests that maybe they have been watching the Usos, but the Usos say they will find a better way to cheat.
Backstage:
The women of Smackdown talk in the back but Carmella shows up and tells them to calm down. Daniel Bryan shows up and he says he will send out a search team to look for James Ellsworth. Daniel says they will all be on the Smackdown Survivor Series team. Lana points out that there are six of them so Daniel says Lana will not be on the team. Daniel says that they might not like each other but they need a unified front. He says they need a strong leader. Charlotte accepts the responsibility. Becky points out that Charlotte was not there last night. Daniel says there will be a Fatal Five Way Match and the winner is Team Captain. Lana is not happy… We go to commercial.
– We are back and Michael Cole wonders how Kurt Angle will respond to what happened on Raw, but he says security is outside the arena to ensure safety.
Fashion Dogs:
We move on to Fashion Dogs with Fandango, Tyler Breeze, Konnor, and Viktor.
Fandango and Tyler argue about who gets to be Mr. Tickle Me Pink. Konnor and Viktor are going to pour gasoline on James Ellsworth and then cut off his chin since he was seen with a briefcase. Tyler tells The Ascension to do it their way. Carmella enters and she tells James that he is supposed to guard the briefcase. Fandango takes the briefcase and he opens it and we see James’ dirty underwear. Carmella takes James away.
Tyler and Fandango say they have solved another case. Konnor asks what did they solve. They bring up 2B and how it is the Bludgeon Brothers. Tyler says there is no B in brothers and then he says that it is silent. Fandango says things are getting strangerer. Tyler says like strangerer things. Strangerer Things will debut next week.
Backstage:
We are back after a commercial and Daniel Bryan is in his office and Shane enters. Daniel asks when they are going to talk about what happened. Shane says they wanted to send a message. Daniel says they are supposed to be a team. Daniel says that Shane is the boss, but he is here to give input because that is his job description.
Sin Cara vs. Baron Corbin
Corbin sends Cara into the turnbuckles and he connects with a splash. Corbin with knees and then he biels Cara. Corbin stands on Cara’s neck and then he sends Cara into the corner. Corbin runs into an elbow and boots. Cara leaps over Corbin and then he kicks Corbin and follows with forearms and a springboard back elbow. Corbin goes to the floor and Cara hits a suicide dive onto Corbin.
Cara hits another suicide dive onto Corbin. Cara sends Corbin into the ring and Cara goes up top and hits a missile drop kick for a near fall. Corbin goes to the floor again. Corbin kicks Cara in the corner and then he connects with forearms. Corbin does not hear the referee telling him to stop and Corbin is disqualified.
Winner: Sin Cara (by disqualification)
After the match, Corbin pulls Cara out of the ring and hits End of Days on the floor.
– We see one of the exit doors as we go to commercial.
– We are back with a look at what happened at the end of Raw and the reactions by the Smackdown roster on social media after Raw ended.
In the Arena:
Samir Singh and Sunil Singh come out and they claim to be the advocates for Jinder Mahal and he comes out.
Jinder says there are those who speak the truth and then there are those who lie. Paul Heyman is a liar. We see Paul’s comments from Raw.
Jinder says unlike that used car salesman Paul Heyman, Jinder will tell the truth. He says he has earned everything he has. He started at the bottom and now he is the most powerful man in the WWE. He has beaten Randy Orton and outwrestled Shinsuke Nakamura, but you do not give him the respect that he gets from the 1.3 billion people of India. Mahal says Paul Heyman is right. He is not Brock Lesnar’s equal, counterpart, or contemporary. He is Brock’s worst nightmare. Jinder says that he will prove to everyone that the Maharaja era has just begun.
AJ’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring. Before the match starts, the referee sends Mahal to the back.
Sunil Singh (wth Samir Singh and Jinder Mahal) vs. AJ Styles
Styles with a forearm and head butt. Samir gets on the apron and Styles grabs him and Styles kicks Sunil and sends him into Samir. AJ with the Calf Crusher and he gets Sunil to tap out.
Winner: AJ Styles
Backstage:
Sami Zayn is backstage when Kevin Owens walks in. Owens reveals that he has a Survivor Series qualifying match against Shinsuke Nakamura next week. Sami says he will win tonight and then Owens will win next week, then Team SmackDown becomes Team Kevin & Sami. Owens corrects him, it will become Team Sami & Kevin. Owens leaves and Sami can’t believe how great of a guy he is.
Backstage:
We are back and Jinder Mahal storms into the office and Daniel Bryan says that Jinder wants to get revenge on AJ Styles next week. Jinder says that since his brother failed, Samir Singh will face AJ Styles. Daniel asks Samir if he wants that and Samir says it will be phenomenal.
Fatal 5 Way to Crown a Team Captain: Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Carmella vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Tamina Snuka
Natalya shows up in the ring before the match to be introduced.
Charlotte Flair versus Tamina Snuka (with Lana) versus Becky Lynch versus Naomi versus Carmella (with James Ellsworth) in a Winner Gets to Be the Captain of the Smackdown Women’s Surivor Series Team Match
Carmella focuses on Charlotte while Tamina with a double suplex to Becky and Naomi. Tamina sends Charlotte to the floor and then Carmella tries to suck up to her but Tamina with a Samoan drop and Carmella rolls to the floor.
Charlotte and Becky with a double drop kick to Tamina and then Charlotte and Becky do their gesture but Charlotte with chops. Becky chops back and then Carmella comes off the turnbuckles for a cross body and she gets a near fall on Becky and Charlotte. Caremlla with a Bronco Buster to Becky for a near fall. Naomi with a round kick and a sunset flip for a near fall. Naomi sends Carmella into the turnbuckles.
Naomi with a snap mare and a sliding clothesline for a near fall. Naomi sends Carmela into Becky on the apron and gets a near fall. Naomi with kicks to Carmella but Carmella with punches. Naomi goes for a slam but Carmella gets to her feet and hits an Edge-O-Matci for a near fall. Naomi with rapid fire kicks but Tamina pulls Naomi to the floor. Carmella gets on Tamina’s back but Tamina backs Carmella into the apron. Charlotte chops Tamina and connects with forearms. Carmella is the victim of a running boot from Charlotte.
Charlotte with a fallaway slam to Tamina on the floor. Becky with a running forearm off the apron to Charlotte. Naomi with a pescado onto Becky. Charlotte blocks a head scissors take down and Charlotte sends Naomi into the ringside barrier. Lana hits Charlotte from behind and Charlotte with a forearm to Lana. Tamina with a super kick to Charlotte. Tamina sends Charlotte into the crowd.
Becky with forearms to Tamina but Tamina with a punch and then she sends Becky into the apron. Naomi with a baseball slide to Tamina. Becky with a rollup for a near fall on Naomi. Naomi with a rollup but Carmella sends Naomi into the ring post. Carmella gets a series of near falls on Becky. Carmella slaps Becky but Becky applies DisArmHer and Carmella taps out.
Winner: Becky Lynch
– We take a look at another exit and there is no security guarding the door inside. Back to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and the Bludgeon Brothers walk in the woods. Luke says danger makes the impossible possible. Erick says war makes the unthinkable a reality. Luke says up is down. Erick says down is up. Luke says dark is light. Erick says light is dark. Luke says they can do anything. Erick says that they do not fear anything.
Backstage:
Renee Young is in the interview area with Dolph Ziggler. He says that Renee is going to ask a question that no one cares about and Dolph says he will give a regurgitated answer until he gives his catchphrase. Dolph says maybe it should be Told You So. He said that Bobby was just an entrance and that he cannot hang in the ring with him. Last week, no one listened and he beat Bobby Roode.
Bobby Roode shows up and Dolph wants to know what Bobby is smirking at. Dolph says that Bobby thinks since they both beat up Raw, he thinks they are friends. Bobby says he does not think they are friends. Bobby says he likes to fight and he enjoys fighting Dolph. Since they have one win apiece, why not have one more match to find out who the better man is.
Dolph says he beat Bobby once, and he beat him twice. Bobby focuses on twice and he says Dolph is onto something. Bobby suggests a two out of three falls match next week. Dolph accepts the challenge and he asks if Bobby’s ego can take being embarrassed twice in the same night. Dolph leaves and Bobby says that he thinks next week will be absolutely GLORIOUS.
– We are back and we are told that the two out of three falls match next week will determine who joins Team Smackdown.
Sami Zayn vs. Randy Orton
We go to the ring and out comes Sami Zayn for tonight’s main event. Randy Orton is out next to a pop.
They lock up and they go into the corner. Zayn with a clean break. Orton with a side head lock. Zayn escapes and he backs Orton into the corner and then he taps on Orton’s chest and then he dances. Zayn with a waist lock and Orton with a wrist lock. Zayn with a chop on the break and Orton does not look happy with what Zayn did. Zayn with two more chops and Orton with a European uppercut and punches. Orton with the Garvin Stomp to Zayn.
Orton with another European uppercut that staggers Zayn. Zayn goes to the floor but Orton follows and he kicks Zayn before sending him back into the ring. Zayn with a baseball slide to Orton. Zayn punches Orton but Orton with a kick and he Irish whips Zayn to the ringside barrier but Zayn leaps onto the barrier and he hits a moonsault.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Zayn with a rear chin lock. Orton with punches but Zayn with a leg lariat. Zayn sets for a suplex but Orton blocks it. Orton drops Zayn on the top rope and Zayn bounces back into the ring. Orton with two clotheslines and he ducks a clothesline from Zayn and Orton with a power slam as Zayn comes off the ropes. Zayn goes to the apron and Orton sets for the IEDDT but Zayn pulls Orton to the floor. Orton with a kick. Zayn is sent towards the announce table and Zayn leaps onto the table. Orton with a backdrop driver onto the table. They return to the ring and Orton gets a near fall.
Zayn sets for an exploder into the turnbuckles but Orton with an exploder of his own for a near fall. Zayn with a cross body for a near fall. Orton goes for an RKO but Zayn counters and gets a near fall with a back slide. Zayn with a boot to the head and then Zayn goes up top. Orton recovers and he punches Zayn. Orton climbs the turnbuckles for a superplex and he hits it. Orton gets a near fall. Zayn sends Orton into the ring post and then Sami sets for the tornado DDT through the ring post and he hits it.
Orton gets back into the ring to stop the count. Zayn goes for a Helluva Kick but Orton moves. Orton with the IEDDT and then he sets for the RKO and he twists to the mat.
Kevin Owens comes to the ring and Orton kicks Owens. Zayn with a rollup for a near fall. Owens yells at the ref. Orton with a low blow to Zayn when the referee’s back is turned. Owens tells the referee what happened. Orton with an RKO for the three count.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match, Shane and Daniel talk about Randy Orton being on the team. Daniel says that Kurt did not attack tonight. Daniel tells Shane that he better be ready because Kurt will respond.
