WWE RAW Results – Oct 2, 2017

WWE RAW Opener:

We go live to Denver where the entire roster is on stage including Vince McMahon in remembrance of the lives lost in Las Vegas 24 hours ago.

– A video package runs highlighting last week’s show where Roman Reigns got a win over WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz in a non-title match. This setup a Miztourage attack on Reigns to close the show last week.

– We go back live to Denver where Seth Rollins walks out to kick off the show.

Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman

Rollins with a kick and punches but Strowman tosses Rollins across the ring and avoids a splash. Strowman with a running shoulder tackle. Strowman gets Rollins up for a power slam but Rollins gets to his feet. Rollins goes to the floor and Strowman follows. Rollins goes to the apron and hits an enzuigiri. Rollins goes for a springboard move but Strowman grabs Rollins by the throat as he comes off. Rollins gets free but Strowman sends Rollins into the air and he lands face first on the mat.

Strowman stands on Rollins’ chest. Strowman with a forearm to the back. Rollins drops Strowman on the top rope and then Rollins goes up top but Strowman press slams Rollins to the mat. Strowman with a rear chin lock but Rollins with a jawbreaker. Strowman charges at Rollins and goes over the top rope when Rollins drops down. Rollins goes for a suicide dive but Strowman with a punch and Rollins falls to the floor.

We go to commercial.

Back live, Strowman catches Rollins and connects with a fallaway slam. Rollins sends Strowman face first into the steel ring post and this time connects with the suicide dive when he hits the ropes back inside the ring. Rollins connects with a second suicide dive to Strowman. Rollins catches Strowman with a springboard clothesline. Rollins with a second clothesline off the ropes and Strowman stays on his feet. Rollins connects with a top rope blockbuster, but Strowman powers out of a pinfall attempt quickly. Rollins with a superkick. Strowman fires back with a big clothesline that levels Rollins. Strowman has Rollins up on his shoulder and connects with the running powerslam to get the pinfall.

Winner: Braun Strowman

After the match, Braun stands tall as his music hits. We come back from a replay and Braun scoops Rollins for another powerslam and leaves him laying. Braun leaves the ring but stops and comes back for more punishment. The music hits and out comes RAW Tag Team Champion Dean Ambrose. Ambrose launches himself at Braun but Braun brings it into the ring. Ambrose gets the upperhand and unloads. Ambrose goes to the second rope but Braun catches him in mid-air and delivers a chokeslam. Braun with a second chokeslam. Braun scoops Ambrose and nails a running powerslam. Braun leaves the ring with Rollins and Ambrose down on the mat. The referee checks on Ambrose as Braun marches to the back.

Sheamus and Cesaro come down to the ring next as Rollins is trying to get up with his back turned to them. Sheamus grabs Ambrose and Cesaro plants him with a Neutralizer. Rollins crawls over but takes a Brogue Kick for his troubles. The Bar stands tall as the music hits and they pose over the champions.

– Still to come, Roman Reigns vs. The Miz with the WWE Intercontinental Title on the line. We go to commercial.

– A video package runs showing WWE’s partnership with Susan G. Komen this month.

Backstage:

– Video from last week is shown of Alexa Bliss calling Mickie James an “old lady.” Backstage, we see Mickie James walking when Alicia Fox is laughing. James asks what she wants. Emma is nearby and tells James someone left something for James in her locker room. James walks in to find a box of depends with a walker. She walks out and both Emma and Fox are laughing. James wants to know where Alexa is and heads to her locker room. She knocks on the door and Nia Jax says Alexa is busy. Alexa declines being in the ring with a “mature woman”, but that Jax doesn’t have a problem with it. James accepts.

Bray Wyatt appears on the TitanTron and he is mumbling. He says she told him to drop his bow and arrow and use your hands. He says she told him everything. She never lied to him. Bray stares into the camera and he says she never lied to him.

– Elias walks in the back as we go to commercial.

– Back live, Elias is inside the ring with his guitar. He insults the “Mile High City” and isn’t pleased he has to fight Titus O’Neil tonight. Elias wants everyone to silence cell phones, hold their applause and shut up because he has a song to sing.

Elias vs. Titus O’Neil w/ Apollo Crews

Lock up and Titus pushes Elias down right away. Elias with chops to Titus. Elias keeps Titus grounded in a headlock. Titus launches Elias to the corner and connects with body shots. Titus with big chops of his own to Elias in the corner and follows it with a scoop slam. Titus with a splash in the corner that he follows up with a big boot. Elias rolls out of the ring. Crews is yelling at Elias on the outside. Elias pushes Crews to the barricade. Elias drops the jaw of Titus off the top rope. Elias connects with Drift Away and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Elias

After the match, Apollo Crews gets in the face of Elias. Elias backs off and leaves.

– Tom Phillips, Corey Graves and Booker T plug the Hell in a Cell PPV this Sunday. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and we get a new promo for Asuka’s arrival at the October 22nd TLC pay-per-view.

Nia Jax vs. Mickie James

We go to the ring and out comes Nia Jax. Mickie James is out next.

The music interrupts before the bell as RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss comes out to watch the match from ringside. The bell rings and Mickie turns back around to Nia running her over. Nia tosses Mickie across the ring. Mickie tries to fight back but Nia beats her down and tosses her across the ring again. Nia uses the middle rope on Mickie as the referee warns her. Nia keeps it up as Bliss laughs at Mickie. Nia scoops Mickie for a bear hug now.

Mickie fights out and attacks but Nia drops her. Nia keeps Mickie down with a knee to the back side now. Mickie looks to make another comeback with strikes but Nia headbutts her down. Nia tosses Mickie out of the ring. Bliss mocks Mickie and Nia stands tall in the ring as we go back to commercial.

We are back and Mickie with a jawbreaker to get away from Nia. Nia with a body block when Mickie charges at her. Nia wants Mickie to get up and Mickie does and she punches Nia. Mickie with kicks and punches. Mickie with more kicks to the midsection. Nia with a double leg take down to stop Mickie. Nia gets a near fall. Nia with a full nelson. Nia with a bear hug. Mickie with elbows and forearms but Nia sends Mickie to the mat. Nia gets Mickie up for a power bomb but Mickie gets to her feet and Mickie with kicks and a running forearm. Mickie with another running forearm and kick. Mickie with a drop kick to the knees followed by punches. Nia runs Mickie into the turnbuckles.

Mickie puts Nia on the turnbuckles for a choke slam but Mickie counters with a tornado DDT. Bliss jumps in to break up the pinfall attempt.

Winner via DQ: Mickie James

After the match, Alexa Bliss dumps James to the outside. Bliss looks down and Jax is still down from the tornado DDT. The commentary team thinks James had Jax beat. James slaps Bliss on the outside and connects with a kick to the face.

– Video from last week of Enzo Amore’s Cruiserweight Championship celebration airs.

– Renee Young is with Enzo Amore. She asks him about the mutiny by the Cruiserweight division. Enzo does not say anyting and Renee thanks him. We go to commercial.

Backsrage:

We are back with a look back at the end of the Nia Jax versus Mickie James match and what happened after the match. Mickie is walking in the back and she is asked about her win and Mickie says she showed what this ‘old woman’ can do. She would love to be the Raw women’s Champion. Kurt Angle stops by and he says that Mickie will get a title match at TLC.

Matt Hardy and Jason Jordan vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

We start with Matt Hardy and Karl Anderson. Matt with a shoulder block early and eats a right hand from Anderson. Tag to Luke Gallows who throws a right at Matt. Tag to Jason Jordan after Matt tosses Gallows to the corner. Jordan drives his shoulder repeatedly into the mid section of Gallows in the corner. Gallows fights back with body shots to Jordan. Matt with a Side Effect on Anderson. Double clothesline to Gallows sending him over. Back to commercial.
Back live, Gallows gets the tag and cuts off a big suplex slam by Jordan on Anderson. Gallows drops repeated elbows over Jordan. Gallows with a big boot and leg drop combo. Tag to Anderson who stomps away at Jordan in the corner. Anderson works over the left arm of Jordan, throws a knee and Jordan counters a back suplex. Jordan with a back suplex of his own. Hot tags to Matt and Gallows. Matt with rights as the crowd chants “DELETE” with each in Denver. Matt with clotheslines to Gallows in the corner, pulls Gallows for a bulldog, clotheslines Anderson and connects with the bulldog. Matt bounces the face of Gallows off each turnbuckle. Matt with a spike DDT from the corner and connects with an elbow drop off the second rope that Anderson breaks up. Jordan dropkicks Anderson to the outside. Anderson then tosses Jordan into the barricade. Anderson distracts Matt. Gallows and Anderson connect with The Magic Killer on Matt and get the pinfall.

Winners: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

After the match, Gallows and Anderson throw up the “Too Sweet” in celebration.

– Still to come, Enzo will address his division. Also, Reigns battles Miz for the title.

– We see what happened with The Bar and the RAW Tag Team Champions earlier tonight.

Backstage:

Roman Reigns is backstage getting ready when Charly walks up. She asks if he has any comments on what happened. Reigns isn’t surprised as Rollins & Ambrose have been controlling the feud but The Bar needed to make a statement. He’s not worried as Rollins & Ambrose are probably already making a plan for next week. Reigns is focused on The Miz and tonight’s match. Charly asks about strategy but he’s just focused on leaving Denver with the title tonight. We go to commercial.

WWE Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c’s) w/ The Miztourage vs. Roman Reigns

Back from the break and out comes WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz with Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas. They make their entrance through the crowd, just like The Shield used to. The Miztourage mocks The Shield as they head to the ring. The music hits and out next comes Roman Reigns and he’s ready to fight.

JoJo does formal ring introductions but Reigns interrupts them with Superman Punches on the floor to Axel and Dallas. Reigns delivers a Drive By and puts them both out of action. Miz looks nervous in the ring. Reigns goes under the ring for a steel chair and follows Axel as he stumbles through the crowd. Axel goes to the stage but Reigns follows him and drops him with the chair. Reigns with another chair shot. Dallas attacks from behind and drops Reigns on the stage. Dallas grabs the chair but Reigns drops him with a Superman Punch as Miz looks on from the ring. Reigns unloads with the chair on both Axel and Dallas while on the stage now. Referees try to get Reigns to stop while checking on Axel and Dallas.

Reigns stands tall on the stage and stares The Miz down. Reigns miles and gets ready to head back to the ring as we go to commercial.

Back live, the bell rings and here we go. Miz bails and Reigns with a headbutt. Reigns then launches Miz back first into the ring barricade. Reigns again sends Miz into the barricade. Reigns tosses Miz back in and Miz rolls out. Miz trips Reigns up on the ring apron and tosses Reigns into the steel ring steps at ringside. Miz dumps Reigns over the barricade into the crowd. Miz rolls back inside the ring and waits for the referee count to begin.

Reigns dives back in to beat the count, but Miz immediately connects with a spike DDT. Miz catches Reigns with a boot to the face, gets a two count and then goes to the headlock to keep Reigns grounded. Miz with another big boot that drops Reigns.

We are back and Miz with his Daniel Bryan kicks to the chest of Reigns. Reigns counters lifting and dropping Miz with a big sitdown powerbomb for a close two count. Reigns is calling for a Superman. Miz avoids it and connects with the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz hooks the leg. Reigns powers out after a two count. Reigns with a Superman. Miz kicks out! Reigns can’t believe it. Reigns is getting fired up in the corner. Sheamus and Cesaro are at ringside and pull Reigns out of the ring. The referee immediately calls for the bell.

Winner via DQ: Roman Reigns

After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro continues the beatdown on Reigns. They toss Reigns inside the ring. Reigns starts fighting back, but Miz tackles Reigns. Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro start stomping away at Reigns on the mat. Cesaro with a Neutralizer on Reigns. Sheamus with a Brouge Kick that levels Reigns. Miz is smiling as Sheamus and Cesaro lift up a helpless Reigns and Miz connects with the Skull Crushing Finale. Sheamus, Cesaro and Miz all go to leave, but come back and give Reigns a triple powerbomb like The Shield. Sheamus, Cesaro and Miz all do the Shield fist pose. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Finn Balor heads to the ring to a big reaction from Denver. “This is Balor Club right here in Denver, Colorado.” Balor doesn’t like to come out here and talk. He prefers to fight. Balor talks about how Bray Wyatt likes to play mind games. He says Wyatt may refer to himself as a God or the Eater of Worlds, but he sees Bray for what he really is. Balor says Wyatt is a coward. “Bray, you lost to The Demon at SummerSlam. You lost to the man at No Mercy. You can make all the excuses that you want. But the simple fact is, you’re afraid.” He knows Wyatt can’t beat him. Balor invites Wyatt to come out here and face him.

Bray Wyatt shows up on the screen in his rocking chair saying “she never lied to me.” He says she “warned him” about people like Finn Balor. Wyatt calls Balor a liar for taking credit for creating The Demon. He wants Balor to show him his true face. Wyatt wants Balor to bring The Demon out again. “Abigail is alive and she is dying to meet you.” Wyatt appears to turn into a zombie-looking version of himself and starts laughing. We hear a woman’s laugh mix in with Wyatt’s laugh as the show goes to commercial.

Sasha Banks and Bayley vs. Emma and Alicia Fox

We go to the ring and out comes Sasha Banks first. Her partner Bayley is out next. We see what happened last week in the tag match win over Emma and Nia Jax. Emma makes her way to the ring for this match next. We see sidebar video from earlier today where Emma says Nia let her down so bad last week that she didn’t even trend on Twitter. Emma says she’s found a partner who is suited to her abilities tonight, and one who is thankful to team with the woman who started the women’s revolution. The music hits and out comes Alicia Fox.

Sasha and Emma start things off and they lock up. Emma backs Sasha into the corner and pie faces Sasha in the corner. Emma with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Sasha with a drop toe hold and she rolls over Emma’s back. Bayley tags in and gives Emma a drop toe hold and Bayley rolls on Emma’s back. Emma with a punch and elbow to the back of the neck. Bayley with punches but Emma with a forearms. Emma sends Bayley into the turnbuckles but Bayley returns the favor. Emma hits Bayley in the back when Alicia distracts Bayley.

Alicia tags in and they hit a double suplex and Alicia with a drop kick to knock Sasha off the apron. Alicia sends Bayley to the floor and we go to commercial.

We are back and Sasha gets a near fall on Emma. Alicia tags in and she pushes Sasha. Sasha pushes back. They exchange punches and Alicia has a kick blocked. Sasha with a kick and drop kick followed by a snap mare and a double knee drop for a near fall. Alicia with a side head lock but Sasha with a kick. Emma punches Sasha from the apron and Alicia with a kick for a near fall. Emma tags in and she kicks Sasha. Emma with a snap mare and reverse chin lock. Sasha with elbows but Emma with a kick and butterfly suplex and she gets a near fall.

Alicia tags in and she connects with a forearm and tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall. Alicia gets another near fall. Alicia with a reverse chin lock. Alicia pulls Sasha to the mat and Emma tags in. Emma chokes Sasha in the corner. Emma sends Sasha into the turnbuckles and Alicia is tagged back in. Alicia with a front face lock. Sasha counters the tilt-a-whirl back breaker into a lateral press but Alicia stops Sasha from making the tag.

Sasha sends Alicia into Emma and Bayley tags in. Bayley with clotheslines and punches. Bayley with a hanging stunner and a running shoulder into the corner. Bayley with a jumping back elbow into the corner. Alicia with a jaw breaker and Emma refuses the tag and leaves the ringside area. Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex for the three count.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley

– We take another look back at Braun Strowman setting the table for the Cruiserweight Division evisceration of Enzo Amore.

In the Arena:

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore walks out and addresses Denver with his usual introduction. He tells all members of the Cruiserweight Division can “go to hell.” Enzo adds anyone that agrees with them can go to hell as well. He will even lend them his Certified GPS – the same GPS he used to put 205 Live on the map. Enzo talks about making the Cruiserweight Division the main event two weeks in a row on Monday Night RAW.

He talks about being able to hear a pin drop when those guys are out here wrestling. Enzo wonders why he is Public Enemy No. 1 when he put the division on the map. He talks about hearing a “YOU DESERVE IT” chant last week when he got beat up. Enzo agrees and holds up his WWE Cruiserweight Championship. “If having success is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.” He calls the fans jealous and how he makes more money than all of them.

Enzo talks about being hurt. “My back is killing me from carrying the Cruiserweight Divison on my back.” He tells all the Cruiserweights to fall in line since he crossed the line. Enzo said last week he set forth a clause that if any Cruiserweights attacked him, they would forfeit any chance at getting a shot at his Cruiserweight Championship. He has another clause that Kurt Angle signed off on. That clause is that if any Cruiserweight wants to lay a hand on him tonight, not only will they forfeit a title shot, they will be fired. Enzo is looking for some opponents and calls the entire division SAWFT.

Here comes Neville leading the entire Cruiserweight division. Enzo bails when Neville gets up on the ring. He asks if they enjoy the job or if they want to be on the unemployment line. Enzo gets back inside the ring and the entire division surrounds the ring on the ring apron. He pulls out the paper that states they will all be fired if they touch him tonight. Enzo mocks all of them on the mic. He dares any one of them to touch him. Here comes RAW GM Kurt Angle out on the stage. He confirms none of the Cruiserweights at ringside can either challenge him for the title or touch him. Angle says none of this applies to the newest member of the Cruiserweight Division who he just signed: Kalisto. Kalisto hits the ring and connects with Salida del Sol on Enzo. He starts a “LUCHA” chant.

– Backstage, Roman Reigns is coughing and holding his ribs from his attack earlier tonight by The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro. Dean Ambrose walks up. Reigns stands up. Seth Rollins walks up. They all shake heads and Reigns looks back down as the show closes.
