Update on Samoa Joe’s Return, Why WWE is Putting The Shield Back Togheter

– Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Samoa Joe should be back in the ring by the end of the month. Joe underwent undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus — surgery he needed since he started in NXT but didn’t want to take the time off.

Joe also underwent surgery to repair his nose which has been broken eight times and was causing him breathing difficulties. Joe mentioned to Sky Sports that he now feels so much better as he was only breathing at 60 percent prior to the surgery.

“Now it’s the best I’ve ever felt, it really is. I also needed nasal surgery as I’ve broken my nose about eight times in my career so I was only breathing at around 60 percent. You have no idea how invigorating it is now.”

– As seen on WWE programming, the company has been teasing the reunion of The Shield and it’s being rumored that the band will officially get back together on next week’s episode of RAW.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that the reason WWE is going with a Shield reunion for the TLC event is because neither John Cena nor Brock Lesnar will be on the show. The feeling is without them they needed something to build the pay-per-view around.
