WWE RAW Results – Sep. 11, 2017

WWE RAW Opener:

Tonight’s WWE RAW opens up with Mike Rome inviting everyone in the arena to stand for a moment of silence to remember the 9/11 terror attacks. The USA chants start up as we cut to the RAW opening video.

– We’re live from the Honda Center in Anaheim as Michael Cole welcomes us. He’s joined by Corey Graves and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. They hype tonight’s show. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be here. John Cena vs. Braun Strowman will take place for the first time ever.

Roman Reigns vs. Jason Jordan

We go right back to the ring and out comes Roman Reigns. Jason Jordan is out next.

Reigns and Jordan stand around while we see John Cena watching from the back. They lock up and they go to a stalemate. Jordan goes for the legs but Roman moves out of the way. Reigns with a waist lock and Jordan with a standing switch. Reigns with an uppercut or two. Reigns sends Jordan into the turnbuckles a few times. Jordan with forearms and punches but Reigns with an uppercut that sends Jordan to his knees. Roman with NeverEnding Story but Jordan stops Reigns and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Jordan with shoulders in the corner.

Jordan sends Reigns into the turnbuckles and punches Reigns. Jordan with kicks and punches. Jordan with Irish whips but Reigns with a clothesline when Jordan charges into the corner. Reigns with NeverEnding Story again followed by a running boot to the head. Reigns goes for the Superman punch but Jordan counters into a crossface. Reigns gets to the ropes and goes to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jordan punches Roman. Reigns with a head butt. Reigns with a hard Irish whip. Reigns with a suplex for a near fall. Reigns with a reverse chin lock. Reigns with a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Reigns returns to the reverse chin lock. Jordan with punches and a shoulder in the corner. Reigns gets a boot up but Jordan blocks the kick and hits an overhead T-Bone suplex. Reigns gets Jordan on the shoulders but Jordan gets to his feet and he sends Reigns into the turnbuckles and hits a clothesline for a near fall.

Reigns and Jordan exchange punches and Jordan gains the advantage and hits a series of running forearms and a drop kick for a near fall. Jordan runs Reigns into the corner and then Jordan goes for an overhead belly-to-belly but Reigns with a punch. Jordan with a Saito suplex for a near fall. Jordan with a running shoulder into the corner and the straps go down. Jordan with a Northern Lights suplex and he rolls through for a second one and he gets a near fall.

Jordan goes for the crossface and he locks it in. Reigns goes for the ropes and he gets there. Jordan with a waist lock and Reigns with back elbows. Jordan misses the shoulder in the corner and he hits the ring post. Jordan falls to the floor. Reigns hits the broad jump drop kick and then he hits the Superman punch followed by the spear for the three count.

Winner: Roman Reigns

After the match, Reigns recovers as his music hits and we see Cena backstage watching again. Reigns approaches Jordan in the corner and extends his hand for a shake. They shake and we get another look at Cena backstage. Charly Caruso approaches Cena for comments on the victory. Cena says he has something to say but he’s going to go say it to Reigns’ face. Reigns poses in the corner as we go to commercial.

– Back from the break and Roman Reigns is waiting in the corner while his music plays. John Cena’s music interrupts and out he comes as fans sing their own version of his theme song.

John tells Roman this is not a night stick for your pants, it is a mic. John says he is excited to hear what Roman has to say because last week Roman had issues with a rookie almost beating him and this week, the rookie almost beat The Guy. John tells him to hold it to one sentence and say ‘Because it is my yard’ and ‘Believe that’.

Roman says he was having a great match, something John doesn’t know about. Roman says he has had more great matches in two years than John has in his whole career.

John says he doesn’t have to stay sharp because he just needs to let Roman speak. He says Roman has buried himself. Roman has skill and ability, but his head is so far up his ass he is a one man human centipede. You think you run this place and are responsible for all of this because nobody has cut you down to size. That is why he is here. You said a few weeks ago that he can spin anything. John says he challenges himself to try everything. You feel as if you have already made it. The second you think you made it, it is the beginning of the end.

John says that Roman is going to learn what real failure is all about because week after week after week, he comes out to give you a shot and you fail and fail and fail. That is not what THE Guy does. THE Guy steps up. The Guy stays sharp and does his homework and that is something you should have done before dragging your sorry ass off. If you are THE Guy, you will dust yourself off and prove yourself. John says he does not see that in Roman.

Roman tells John to bring his bitch ass back in here as he goes to the apron. Roman says another superstar comes out to call John Cena out to make a name for himself, but you came to Raw to call him out. Roman says that maybe he is selling the tickets that John hasn’t sold in years. Roman says ticket sales are great and revenue is sky high. He says that WWE does not need John and John needs WWE. You need WWE because you can’t break into Hollywood. Roman says he knows a guy. Roman tells John to spin it and do his big talk because it means nothing because you can’t back it up.

John says when people push you over the line, you have to fight fire with fire. John says he will put it in terms that you can understand. He tells Roman to think of it as a drug test because you ain’t getting past him.

– Sasha Banks walks in the back as we go to commercial.

Sasha Banks vs. Emma

We are back and Alexa Bliss is at the commentary table.

They lock up and Sasha with a waist lock but Emma with a standing switch. Emma sends Sasha into the corner and kicks her. Sasha blocks a punch and punches Emma. Sasha with a wrist lock and she goes to the ropes for an arm drag. Emma goes to the apron and slides in and gets a near fall. Sasha with a backslide for a near fall. Sasha blocks ak kick and then she kicks Emma. Emma with a clothesline and both women are down.

Nia Jax’ music plays and she makes her way to the stage to stare at the ring and then she sees her best friend Alexa on commentary. We go to commercial.

We are back and Emma with a full nelson. Nia now has a chair to sit next to Alexa to watch and talk about the match. Emma with a butterfly suplex and she gets a naer fall. Emma with punches but Sasha with a jaw breaker and she gets a near fall. Emma with a punch but Sasha puts Emma into the turnbuckles. Sasha with clotheslines and a drop kick. Sasha with a head scissors take down. Sasha runs into a boot and then Emma hip tosses Sasha into the turnbuckles and the tree of woe. Emma with kicks to the head and a chop. Emma with a running cross body into the corner and she gets a near fall.

Sasha with the Banks Statement and Emma taps out.

Winner: Sasha Banks

– We take a look back at last week’s main event between Big Show and Braun Strowman when Strowman slammed Big Show through the cage.

In the Arena:

Back from a break and out comes WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman.

Paul introduces himself and his client. Paul says his job this evening is to sell you on something that has already been sold. On September 24th at the Staples Center at No Mercy, Brock will defend his title against the most qualified challenger in ages, Braun Strowman. Paul says this is the first time since Wrestlemania when Brock faced the Undertaker, the odds are against Brock. At SummerSlam, with a power slam, Braun put Brock through two announce tables and dumped a third one on Brock. The next night, Braun laid waste to Brock Lesnar. We are looking at a situation where the challenger is bigger than Brock Lesnar and is more powerful than Brock Lesnar. Are you badder than the baddest man on the planet?

You have to rip the championship away from the beast. You have to take what belongs to Brock Lesnar. Paul says this reminds him of Brock Lesnar in 2002 when the Next Big Thing took care of Rock, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Rob Van Dam, and the Undertaker.

Tonight. Braun Strowman is going to try to victimize John Cena. Will Braun monsterhandle John Cena? Are you badder than the baddest dude on the planet. Braun, are you ready to cross the border from the safety of sports entertainment into the hostile place known as Suplex City. When they used to lock his client in the Brocktagon and they would ask ‘Fighter are you ready’. Paul asks Brock ‘Fighter, are you ready?’ Paul says he knows that Braun is waiting to come to the ring and he asks Brock if the fighter is ready.

Braun Strowman’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Braun hits the ring and they go at it. Braun blocks a suplex and beats Brock into the corner. Braun scoops Lesnar for the powerslam but Lesnar slides out. Lesnar nails a German suplex but Braun pops right back up and stares Lesnar down. Lesnar can’t believe it. They face off in the middle of the ring. Lesnar swings but Braun chokeslams him. Braun with the big running powerslam now. Braun grabs the WWE Universal Title and raises it over Lesnar while putting his boot on him. Braun’s music hits again. He places the title on Lesnar’s chest and counts to 3 before leaving. Braun stands tall on the apron and raises his arms as we go to replays. Heyman hits the ring to check on Lesnar now. Lesnar stares from the mat and shakes his head as Braun marches to the back.

– Back from the break and Cole offers thoughts & prayers to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Booker talks about Houston and thanks everyone for their support. Graves mentions how you can donate to the Red Cross.

Goldust vs. Bray Wyatt

We go to the ring and out comes Goldust. Bray Wyatt appears on the big screen. Wyatt says he’s been watching Goldust for some time now. He used to think Goldust was bizarre and different but now he thinks he’s just afraid. Afraid to take off his paint and show the world the man that lives underneath. Wyatt says Goldust has so many insecurities he wishes the paint would dry for good. Just like Finn Balor, the paint is nothing more than your power, your weapon to protect you from the truth because without it, you’re just a mortal. All Goldust can do now is… run. Wyatt blows out the lantern and makes his way to the arena.

Goldust with punches and a boot to the head. Wyatt rolls to the floor and Goldust follows and hits a running clothesline. Goldust sends Bray back into the ring and Goldust with a drop down punch. Wyatt with a clothesline and punches to Goldust. Wyatt misses a back senton and then Goldust sends Wyatt to the floor and he hits a cannonball off the apron. Goldust punches Wyatt before getting back into the ring. Wyatt with a punch and then he sends Goldust into the ring post. Goldust with a jackknife cover for a near fall. Wyatt with a flying forearm. Wyatt with Sister Abigail for the three count.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

After the match, Wyatt stands tall as we go to replays. Wyatt takes a rag and starts wiping the paint off Goldust’s face as fans boo. Wyatt yells about Goldust being just a man, calling the fans idiots. The music interrupts and out comes Finn Balor. Wyatt retreats to the floor but Balor tells him to bring it. Wyatt taunts Balor from the ramp as Balor looks on from the ring.

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is backstage with Sheamus and Cesaro, asking about tonight’s match with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and if it distracts them from the title shot at No Mercy. Sheamus says they see Gallows and Anderson as more of a threat than the champs. Cesaro says they don’t like them and they will win tonight but there’s no denying Gallows and Anderson are a team. They knock Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, and say the real test for them will come at No Mercy when they bring the full weight of The Bar down on them. They go on to predict the champs will throw each other to the wolves when the pressure is on at No Mercy. They walk off and we go back to commercial.

Sheamus and Cesaro vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Back from the break and out comes RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose for commentary. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson are out first for the match. Sheamus & Cesaro are out next. They turn to the champs and talk trash from the stage. Rollins & Ambrose get up and a brawl breaks out on the stage. Gallows & Anderson rush up to join the fight. Sheamus, Cesaro, Gallows & Anderson beat down the champs before turning on each other. Ambrose & Rollins get back into the mix. Officials are out to try and separate the teams.

Backstage:

Back from the break and we see what just happened with the three tag teams. Rollins and Ambrose approach RAW General Manager Kurt Angle backstage and they want a match against both of the other teams. Angle can’t put his tag champs at risk this close to No Mercy but if they find two partners, he will book an eight-man match.

– The announcers talk about how Kurt Angle has signed the hottest free agent in WWE. Graves leads us to a teaser for Asuka’s RAW debut, coming soon.

Backstage:

Nia Jax is backstage watching the promo. Alexa Bliss appears and can’t believe Asuka is coming to try and steal their thunder. Bliss says RAW should be the Nia and Alexa show. She keeps kissing up to Nia but Nia says they aren’t best friends. Bliss apologizes for what has happened and says she wants to just put this behind them and be best friends again. Nia says maybe but Bliss might not want to be her best friend after she found out what she did. Nia says the singles match between her and Bliss is happening next week as she spoke with Kurt Angle to make it happen. Nia walks off and Bliss looks concerned.

– Elias is backstage walking with his guitar. Back to commercial.

Elias vs. Kalisto

Back from the break and Elias is in the ring with a spotlight and a guitar to debut his new song. He’s interrupted by the music as Kalisto makes his entrance.

Lots of back and forth early on. Elias turns it around after shutting Kalisto down. Elias unloads in the corner with boots now as the referee backs him off. Elias talks some trash and keeps control for another 2 count. Elias keeps Kalisto down and works on his arm now. Kalisto finally makes a comeback and hits a tornado DDT for a close 2 count.

Kalisto goes to the top but Elias moves out of the way. Elias catches Kalisto in a huge powerbomb. Elias stomps some more now. Elias hits the Drift Away for the pin.

Winner: Elias

– We get a look back at what happened with Strowman and Lesnar earlier tonight. Still to come, Braun vs. Cena. Back to commercial.

John Cena vs. Braun Strowman

Back from the break and out comes John Cena. Cena is fired up as he tells his opponent to come on. The music finally hits and out comes Braun Strowman for his first match with Cena.

They lock up and Strowman sends Cena to the mat and Cena goes to the floor. Cena gets back into the ring and Cena avoids Strowman as he tries to figure out his strategy. Cena with a waist lock into a side head lock. Strowman with a clothesline. Strowman with a splash into the corner as we see Reigns watching the match on the monitor. Strowman with a head butt. Strowman follows with a shoulder tackle. Strowman chokes Cena and stomps on his chest. Cena with a drop kick but Strowman stays on his feet and Strowman with a drop kick. Strowman with a splash into the corner.

Strowman sends Cena to the mat as Cena tries to get back to his feet. Cena with punches and he tries to get Strowman on his shoulders but Strowman with a forearm to the back. Strowman with a forearm to the head. Strowman punches Cena in the ribs. Strowman runs into a boot from Cena. Cena goes for a cross body and Strowman catches him and hits a fallaway slam as we go to commercial.

We are back and Strowman with a punch and then we see what happened during the commercial break when Cena was sent into the ring steps. Strowman is sent to the floor but Strowman with a forearm. Cena tries to pick up Strowman but he collapses under Strowman’s weight and Strowman gets a near fall. Strowman charges into the corner and Cena moves. Strowman hits the ring post and Cena with a Saito suplex. Cena goes for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Strowman pops up and hits a spinebuster for a near fall.

Cena gets Strowman up and hits an Attitude Adjustment but Strowman falls to the floor. Cena runs around the ring and Strowman hits Cena in the head with the ring steps. Strowman puts the ring steps into the ring. The referee tells Strowman he cannot use the steps as they return to the ring. Strowman gets Cena up and he power slams Cena onto the steps and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: John Cena (by disqualification)

After the bell, Braun stands tall and poses over Cena. Braun stands on the steps and raises his arms as his music hits. We see Reigns backstage watching again as Braun mocks Cena with the “you can’t see me” gesture. Charly Caruso approaches Reigns for comments on what just happened. Reigns says The Monster didn’t show Cena any mercy but neither will he. Reigns walks off as we go to replays as Braun continues to stand over Cena.

– Still to come, Rollins and Ambrose with mystery partners vs. The Club and The Bar. Also, Enzo Amore on MizTV. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins ask two random people to be their partners. They then see Dean Malenko and Jamie Noble but they are not dressed for action. Dean says they are just the men they were looking for and it is the Hardys. Matt says it is positively wonderful to see them. Dean asks the Hardys if they are doing anything and Matt laughs.

Miz TV:

Miz makes his way to the ring and he is accompanied by his wife Maryse, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel.

Miz says he and Maryse have an announcement that will change WWE forever. They have been thinking long and hard about how to announce this special news and there is no better place to announce it than to do it where they first met. Maryse announces that they are going to have a baby. Miz says he pledges to her that unlike Kurt Angle, he will be there with the child since day one.

Miz says he has a speech. Fatherhood is a privilege that belongs to…

Enzo’s music interrupts and he makes his way to the ring.

Miz tells Enzo he interrupted a deeply personal moment between his wife and him.

Enzo says he wants to celebrate with Miz and his wife. Miz tells Enzo not to ‘how you doin’ to his wife. Miz says that Enzo doesn’t think. You and Cass were the next big thing and people loved you, but look at you now. You don’t know when to shut your mouth. That is why you are kicked off tour buses and out of the locker room. Do you think you chose to bring your personality to the cruiserweight division because there was nowhere else to go because no one on the roster likes you. Miz says he has been in Enzo’s shoes. He was treated the same way, but he recreated himself.

Miz says that Enzo could have asked for advise. Miz says he sees so much talent in him but Enzo keeps making mistake after mistake. Do you think you can hang with Neville? All he cares about is to perfect himself in the ring. All you care about is hanging out with third rate rappers. That is why you have to cheat. When you are on the top rope, you fall flat on your face. You don’t have a seven foot meal ticket. All you are is a con artist with a couple of catch phrases.

Enzo asks if Miz wants to get real. Enzo says he is the realest guy in the room. Enzo says that he and Mickey have something in common. You have enemies in the back because you copied Chris Jericho and Ric Flair. Enzo says he is an original while Miz is a carbon copy. Enzo says he will become the Cruiserweight Champion and then he will come on Raw and beat Miz because he is a paper champion.

Miz asks rhetorically if he is a paper champion. Miz asks Enzo if he is championship material because if he was, his best friend might not have abandoned him. Enzo says he only needs two things to fight him right here, right now.

Miz says you have no idea what you are getting into. He will show Enzo how to walk, talk, and look like a champion. Miz says he will dedicate his victory to his unborn child. We go to commercial.

Enzo Amore vs. The Miz

Back from the break and the match is underway. Enzo retreats and goes to the floor early on, taking a shot at Miz’s in-ring action by saying it’s straight-to-DVD. Miz eventually gets the upperhand and talks trash into the mic while he works Enzo over on the floor.

Miz brings Enzo back in and goes to the top with the mic. Enzo hits the top rope and crotches Miz. Enzo talks more trash on the mic, telling Miz’s unborn kid to ask, “who’s ya daddy?” Miz gets upset and unloads on Enzo. The Miztourage gets involved for the disqualification.

Winner by DQ: Enzo Amore

The Miztourage destroys Enzo and beats him down at ringside. They bring him back into the ring and Miz stands over him as a “who’s your daddy?” chant starts. Miz picks Enzo up and drops him again with a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz stands tall with Maryse in the ring as his music plays.

– Back from the break and the announcers hype Bliss vs. Jax on next week’s RAW and TJP vs. Rich Swann on this week’s 205 Live.

– Enzo Amore is backstage in rough shape when WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville approaches him. Neville stares at Enzo and just starts laughing at him.

Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy

We go to the ring for tonight’s main event. Sheamus and Cesaro are wrapping up their entrance as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson wait. We see what happened earlier to set this match up. RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are out first for their team. The Hardys are out last.

The faces hit the ring and a big brawl breaks out. Jeff works on Cesaro in the corner while the others take it to the floor. The bell rings with Jeff and Cesaro starting off.

Jeff drops Cesaro and hits the signature leg drop. Jeff works on Cesaro’s arm now. Matt tags in and they double team Cesaro. Matt covers for a quick pin attempt. Cesaro hits an uppercut on Matt and in comes Sheamus to work Matt over. Matt turns it around as Cesaro and Sheamus both get sent to the floor. Jeff comes in and hits Poetry In Motion to the floor on Sheamus and Cesaro. The Hardys stand tall as fans do the “delete!” chant and we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and Gallows comes in to go at it with Ambrose. Gallows ends up leveling Ambrose on the floor with a big kick thanks to interference from Cesaro. The referee counts Ambrose. Gallows brings Ambrose back in and drops him for a close 2 count. Sheamus comes in and tags Cesaro in for a double team in the corner.

Cesaro and Sheamus with another double team as Ambrose kicks out at 2. Sheamus keeps Ambrose grounded now. Ambrose looks to fight back but Sheamus cuts him off and in comes Gallows. Gallows takes Ambrose to the corner and hits a big splash. Anderson tags in now and they double team Ambrose with a neckbreaker. Anderson covers for a 2 count. Cesaro comes back in as Ambrose gets double teamed again. Cesaro keeps Ambrose grounded near their corner. Ambrose tangles with Cesaro now but he can’t get the tag as Sheamus comes in. Cesaro and Sheamus with a double team White Noise from the corner. Matt comes in and breaks the pin up. Gallows and Anderson pull Matt to the floor and launch him into the barrier.

Anderson tags in and keeps up the attack on Ambrose. Ambrose fights back and goes for Dirty Deeds but it’s blocked for a pin attempt. Ambrose with a swinging neckbreaker to Anderson. Gallows comes in and stops a tag. Ambrose fights out of a Magic Killer and nails a clothesline on Gallows. Ambrose rolls Sheamus up for a 2 count. Sheamus charges but hits the ring post when Ambrose moves. Ambrose crawls fro a tag but Cesaro stops him. Ambrose counters and dumps Cesaro over the top to the floor. Rollins finally gets the tag and unloads on Anderson.

Rollins fights off his opponents and unloads on Anderson. Rollins with a kick to the face as Gallows breaks it up. Jeff with a Twist of Fate on Gallows. Matt with a Twist of Fate to Gallows as well. The Hardys are distracted by Sheamus and Cesaro from the apron but they tell them to bring it. It looks like Sheamus and Cesaro are leaving Gallows and Anderson hanging as they look on from the stage. This leads to Rollins hitting a superkick and Ambrose hitting Dirty Deeds on Anderson. Rollins covers for the pin.

Winners: The Hardys, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose

After the match, the winners stand tall in the ring as Sheamus and Cesaro look on from the stage. RAW goes off the air.
