Reason for Elias Samson’s In-Ring Performance at Extreme Rules

As seen on Sunday’s Extreme Rules event, Elias Samson had an in-ring segment that saw him play his guitar on the show. The segment basically have no point and didn’t really set up anything moving forward.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE did this segment to fill time. With only six matches on the main card for Extreme Rules, the company had lots of time to spare.

Speaking of Samson, it appears that the company may be moving away from “The Drifter” name, as they aren’t really using it as much on WWE television as they have done so in the past.
