WWE Smackdown Results – May 30, 2017

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown opens up with backstage promos from Charlotte Flair, Carmella, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Tamina Snuka about how they will win tonight’s Fatal 5 Way to become the new #1 contender.

Charlotte Flair says that she is genetically superior and that is why she will win tonight.

Carmella says she has so much class that you should call her the Teacher. She will take everyone to school.

Natalya says she will prove that she is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be when she wins.

Becky says that she will have the luck of the Irish tonight and she will win.

Tamina says her opponents have had their chances and tonight is here time to become the number one contender.

– We go right to the ring and Greg Hamilton introduces WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens. Owens is in the ring for another edition of his Highlight Reel. Owens welcomes us to The Highlight Reel and says he’s the new host, the new Face of America. Fans boo.

Kevin says the former host invented the Money in the Bank match, at least he claims that is the case. Chris never won a Money in the Bank match. Kevin says in three weeks, he will do what Chris could never do. He will climb every rung of a ladder and grab that. We see the briefcase over the ring. Kevin says that he will get the Championship opportunity and he will be the United States Champion and the champion and face of the entire WWE.

Kevin introduces one of the men he will step on on his way to the WWE Championship and he brings out Shinsuke Nakamura.

Kevin says he does not care if Nakamura thinks he is a rock star. This is not America’s Got Talent. This is Kevin Owens’ Highlight Reel and there is no dancing. Kevin says he invited Nakamura on the show since he is shrouded in mystery. People want to know who you are and why you are here and what your future in WWE is. Kevin asks Shinsuke if he knew what happened to the last person who thought they were a rock star? Kevin says he sent Chris Jericho and his stupid scarf off into an early retirement. If you show up at Money in the Bank, that will be the last time the people sing along with you because that will be the day the music dies.

Before Nakamura can say more than Kevin’s name, Baron Corbin interrupts.

He says nobody cares what Shinsuke has to say. Why not show some actual highlights from a real superstar? We see last week when Corbin attacked Zayn after Zayn’s victory. Kevin asks Baron if he interrupted his show to show footage of him beating up Sami Zayn because he has been beating up Sami Zayn for 15 years. Kevin tells Baron to get out of here because he is not his guest. Baron asks Kevin if he is asking him to respect his authority and he tells Cartman to shut up. He says he will be the Money in the Bank winner in three weeks.

Nakamura asks Kevin to remember last week when he pinned Kevin. Nakamura says Corbin forgot to show the two times Sami Zayn beat him. Corbin hits the ring and Nakamura fights off a double team but they beat him down. Corbin holds Nakamura down while Owens stomps on him. Sami runs down and makes the save. Sami and Nakamura clear the ring as fans pop. Sami takes the mic and ends up proposing a tag team match. We go to commercial.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens

Back from the break and the match is underway after Shane McMahon made it official. Nakamura starts off with Corbin. Back and forth to start. Nakamura takes control and taunts Corbin before taking him to the corner for more. Nakamura with some good vibrations in the corner. Sami tags himself in but Corbin breaks away from Nakamura and retreats to his corner. Corbin tags out and in comes Owens. They go at it and Sami takes Owens down with a scissors. Owens goes to the floor for a breather. Sami chases Owens back into the ring but Owens stomps away and turns it around. Corbin is back in now.

Sami unloads in the corner and turns it around until Owens kicks him in the back of the head while Corbin has the referee distracted. Owens tags in and keeps control of Sami, taking him to the corner again. Corbin tags back in and keeps up the attack. Sami counters in the corner and goes for a tornado DDT but Corbin blocks it and slams him. Corbin talks trash and stands tall as we go to commercial.

Corbin with a knee to the midsection and then he sends Zayn to the floor. Owens kicks Zayn on the floor while the referee deals with Corbin. Corbin runs Zayn into the ringside barrier and then back into the ring. Corbin says something to Nakamura and then Corbin punches Zayn. OWens tags in and he punches Zayn in the midsection and chokes him in the ropes. Owens with a back senton and he gets a near fall. Owens with a reverse chin lock. Zayn with punches but Owens backs Zayn into the corner and Corbin punches Zayn in the back of the head. Owens with a punch and he gets a near fall.

Owens with a double overhook to Zayn. Owens pulls Zayn down and he lands on Owens’ knee. Owens returns to the chin lock.

We return to full screen coverage and Zayn gets to his feet. Zayn with punches and he hits the Blue Thunder Bomb. Both men are down. Corbin tags in and he knocks Nakamura off the apron before Zayn can make the tag. Zayn with a rollup for a near fall. Corbin with a spinebuster for a near fall. Corbin argues with the referee over his count. Corbin punches Zayn a few times in the head. Zayn with a clothesline to Corbin.

Owens and Nakamura tag in and Nakamura with a flying boot and strikes to Owens including round kicks to the chest. Nakamura with knees followed by an Irish whip and knee in the corner. Nakamura puts Owens on the turnbuckle and Nakamura with a knee to the midsection and he gets a near fall. Nakamura sets for a reverse exploder but Owens with a knee. Nakamura with a round kick for a near fall. Corbin breaks up the cover and Zayn goes after Corbin.

Owens goes for a splash but Zayn moves and he hits Corbin. Owens pushes Corbin and Corbin punches Owens. Zayn clotheslines Corbin over the top rope and then Nakamura with Kinshasa for the three count.

Winners: Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn

– Jimmy and Jey Uso walk in the back as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos are in the ring.

They talk about how everyone is looking salty tonight because they’re still the champs. They take shots at American Alpha, Breezango and the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. They go on about how no other WWE tag team goes as hard as them but the familiar introduction from Big E interrupts. The music hits as The New Day arrive for their SmackDown debuts. Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston head to the ring and get a pop.

Woods announces that they are back. He gives a shout-out to his mother in the crowd and mentions Atlanta being his hometown for another pop. Kofi is interrupted by The Usos, who are watching from ringside now. The Usos say they have the tag team division on lock. They welcome The New Day to The Uso Penitentiary. Big E says they know what goes on in a penitentiary and as far as the SmackDown Tag Team Titles go, they like them and they want them. Woods says they can do this the easy way or the hard way. Kofi says the answer better be yes. Uso says they better wake up from their fairy tale because this is about to get real. The Usos go on but The New Day aren’t taking them serious. Woods says he was told by Shane McMahon that The Usos have special opponents coming up at Money In the Bank but he can’t remember who… who? Kofi reveals that it will be The New Day vs. The Usos at Money In the Bank. The New Day dances around and wraps up their promo as fans join them. The Usos leave while being taunted from the ring.

– It is time for a profile on Fandango. He says the fashion world is not all glitz and glam. Some times it gets ugly.

Fandango is in black and white and he says he has always had a private eye for fashion. His partner let the biggest fashion felons, the Uggos slip through their fingers. Where do they go from here? Fandango sees his office door ajar and he enters to see it destroyed.

Fandango tells the ‘dirtbag’ to freeze and the wig is removed and he says ‘Breeze bag’. They both realize they can read the other person’s minds. Fandango says that they got close to the title. Fandango notices some cologne. Breeze asks Fandango if he is thinking what he is thinking and Fandango says he likes Tyler’s dress.

They have their next case.

Fatal 5 Way Elimination Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella vs. Natalya vs. Tamina Snuka vs. Becky Lynch

We go to the ring and out comes Charlotte Flair. The winner of this match will face SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi at Money In the Bank. Back to commercial.

All five women battle as the referee tries to hold Becky back. Becky is sent to the floor by Carmella and she connects with forearms but Becky sends Carmella into the apron. Natalya suplexes Charlotte a few times but the referee has not started the match. Natayla punches Charlotte and Charlotte fires back with forearms. Tamina gets Charlotte up for a Samoan DRop.

Becky and Carmella continue to battle on the floor and Becky sends Carmella over the ringside barrier into Yeatonville. Becky with a forearm off the ringside barrier.

The referee begs everyone to get in the ring despite the fact that many of them are down on the floor. Tamina pulls the cover off the announce table and then monitors are thrown off. Charlotte sends Tamina into the ring post. Charlotte with a forearm to Natalya and then Charlotte with an exploder to Natalya. Charlotte goes up top for a moonsault to the floor and she connects on Natalya and Tamina. Carmella with a cross body off the ringside barrier onto Charlotte. Becky with an exploder to Carmella. Tamina with a super kick to Becky. Charlotte with a boot to Tamina. Natalya with a discus clothesline to Charlotte.

Natalya sets for a power bomb through the announce table but Charlotte escapes and sends Natalya into the ring steps. Charlotte wipes some papers off the table and Charlotte power bombs Natalya through the announce table.

Shane McMahon’s music plays and he does the Shane-O Shuffle before running to ringside to survey the damage.

Shane asks if this is not amazing and he says the women’s division is on fire. Shane says you are all so focused on being the number one contender that the match did not even begin. Shane says that since the competition is so crazy, let’s do something really big. Let’s do something historic. Shane says that Charlotte, Natalya, Tamina, Carmella, and Becky will be in a Money in the Bank Match at the pay per view.

We go to commercial.

Breezango vs. The Colons

Breeze and Primo start things off and Primo with a punch. Primo rips off the dress and takes off Tyler’s wig. Tyler with a drop kick and Fandango tags in and they hit a double elbow and double elbow drop for a near fall. Primo goes for a sunset flip but Fandango stays on his feet and he pulls out his gun and shoots Primo with it. Epico is hit by Breeze and then Fandango back drops Primo over the top rope onto Epico.

We go to split screen and Fandango with an arm drag on Primo. Fandango avoids being sent into the turnbuckles and he applies a side head lock. Epico makes the blind tag and he trips Fandango and pulls him to the floor and sends him against the apron. Epico with a slingshot senton for a near fall and then he connects with forearms to the back and he punches Fandango. Primo tags in and they hit a double suplex and Primo gets a near fall. Primo with a kick and leg sweep for a near fall.

Primo stretches Fandango. Epico tags back in and they hit a double side Russian leg sweep for a near fall.

Epico with a reverse chin lock but Fandango with a rollup for a near fall. Epico with a clothesline to Fandango and he knocks Breeze off the apron. Fandango with a back body drop but he cannot make the tag since Breeze was on the floor. Epico with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall. Primo tags in and he is met with a clothesline. Primo gets a near fall. Epico goes for a superplex but Fandango with a sunset flip power bomb and both men are down.

The janitor Breeze is back and he tags in and so does Primo. Breeze with forearms to Primo but Primo with an Irish whip and he misses a splash. Breeze with an enzuigiri to Primo and a drop kick to Epico. Fandango takes the mop from Primo and he hits an Unprettier for the three count.

Winners: Breezango

Backstage:

Renee Young is with AJ Styles and he is asked about his match against Dolph Ziggler and Money in the Bank. AJ says great teams play great teams to show how good they are. He will move on to win at Money in the Bank and become a two time WWE Champion.

Dolph interrupts and he says that he laid the foundation here and he reminds AJ that he is the only one in the match who has won the Money in the Bank match and cashed in the briefcase. He will do it again at the pay per view. Dolph asks AJ if he wants to go right now.

AJ takes off his shirt and he says he is ready. Dolph says he will see him outside ‘kid’. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. He introduces himself for those “living under a rock” for the last 17 years. Orton brings up his family history in wrestling and how “this is in my blood.” He says if his grandfather was here he would slap him in the face for losing to a guy like Jinder Mahal. Orton says Mahal thinks he has earned the right to respect. He says the only thing Mahal has earned is a good ole fashioned “Orton family ass kicking.” Orton brings up Money in the Bank being in his hometown and how winning is the only option. He’s ready to stop talking and will become champion for the 14th time. Orton drops the mic and gets up on the corner to pose.

Here comes WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. Mahal shows up on the screen. He says Orton is a symbol of the past, just like the country of America. “Behold the present. Behold the future. Behold the new WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal.” The Singh Brothers clap.

The video of Mahal fades. Orton gets back up on the corner and poses. Back to commercial.

– We are back and next week Kevin Owens faces Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown.

AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler goes for the leg and Styles stays on his feet and gets Ziggler in a waist lock. After standing switches, they get to the ropes. Ziggler with an elbow but Styles with a forearm and a drop kick. Ziggler with a punch and he sends AJ into the ring post ribs first.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Ziggler with a side head lock but Styles with elbows and punches. Styles with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the hold. Styles blocks and punch and connects with punches of his own and then he connects with a clothesline. Styles with a forearm into the corner followed by a snap mare and sliding forearm. Ziggler gets off Styles’ shoulders but Styles with a sit out gourdbuster for a near fall.

Styles goes for a Styles Clash but Ziggler counters and uses the ropes for extra leverage but the referee does not make the count. Styles with an Ushigoroshi for a near fall. Styles thinks about the Styles Clash but Ziggler gets to the ropes. Styles with a forearm and he sets for a suplex back into the ring but Ziggler with a knee. Styles with a suplex into the turnbuckles. Styles goes tot he turnbuckles for a Super Styles Clash and Ziggler escapes. Ziggler with a leaping hesitation DDT and both men are down. Styles avoids a Fameasser and Styles tries for the Styles Clash.

Ziggler with a head butt and Styles with a back breaker. Styles runs into a knee from Ziggler. Ziggler puts Styles on the turnbuckles and he sets for a superplex but Styles slides under and he pulls Ziggler off the turnbuckles and hits Snake Eyes. Styles misses a splash into the corner. Styles applies the Calf Crusher but Ziggler rakes the eyes to get out of the hold. Ziggler sends Styles into the ropes and he hits a Zig Zag for a near fall.

Ziggler misses a super kick and Ziggler’s knee gives out. Ziggler sends Styles to the apron and Styles with a forearm and then he goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Ziggler crotches him. Ziggler with a super kick for the three count.

Winner: Dolph Zigger

We go to credits.
