Reason For The Tag Team Steel Cage Match at Extreme Rules, Nakamura the Favorite to Win Money in the Bank

- As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Matt Hardy defended Sheamus for the opportunity to pick the stipulation in their upcoming tag team title defense at the Extreme Rules event. It was revealed after the match that the teams would battle inside of a steel cage.

While many where hoping that we would see The Hardys face off against Sheamus & Cesaro in a ladder match or TLC match, that wasn’t the plan. Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the company decided on a steel cage match because they just had a ladder match at the NXT Takeover: Chicago event over the weekend and felt it was too soon announce another.

- Shinsuke Nakamura is the early favorite to win the upcoming Monday in the bank ladder match at the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view event on June 18th.

WWE officials have been high on Nakamura for some time now. It has always been expected that he would receive a big push and top level spot once he made his debut on the main roster.

As we get closer to the event, things could always change and someone else may be the favorite. This happens quite often within WWE.
