WWE Fastlane Kick-Off Show Recap

WWE Fastlane Kick-Off Show:

Your host for the Kickoff Show is Renee Young. She is joined by Booker T and Peter Rosenberg.Renee mentions they are sitting under the Wrestlemania sign.

Renee sends it to Charly Caruso in the Social Media Lounge. Booker wants to know where Tom Phillips is tonight. Charly mentions that her guest tonight will be Samoa Joe.

Renee reminds people that if you sign up for the WWE Network before the start of the pay per view, you will also get Wrestlemania for free if you have never signed up before.

Renee mentions the kickoff show for Wrestlemania will start at 5:00 PM and Wrestlemania starts at 7:00 PM Eastern.

We have a video package for Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns.

Renee asks how will Roman deal with Braun. Rosenberg says that Roman is afraid of no one and he says this is the biggest match for Strowman.

Renee asks about Wrestlemania for both of them.

Booker mentions how Braun has gone through everyone. Booker mentions the brawl at the end of Raw and neither man backed down. Roman still signed the contract.

Renee asks for predictions. Peter says Strowman wins. Booker goes with Roman because of his experience. He will prove that he is the guy. Renee says that Roman will find a way to get it done.

Noam Dar and Alicia Fox are in the back and Noam talks about having something to celebrate tonight. Brian Kendrick shows up and he tells Dar that he has a chance to learn tonight. They will make Tozawa realize he made a mistake. Dar says he is looking forward to winning for Alicia Fox. Kendrick says he hopes no one melts down to cost them. Dar says they will celebrate together after they win. Kendrick says he does not do crazy and walks away.

It is time to talk about the tag title match and Cesaro and Sheamus join the Kickoff Show panel.

Sheamus says he feels they should be defending the titles. He says they were robbed by Gallows and Anderson. They get screwed out of their rematch. Cesaro stands up and the crowd goes crazy. He says no one wants to see him sitting at a table, they want to see them wrestle. The crowd is not as happy for Sheamus, but Cesaro says that Sheamus brought the best out of him last year. They ended the New Day’s streak.

Booker says you have to represent yourself and you cannot cry over spilt milk like Sheamus. Cesaro says that Sheamus goes around and Brogue Kicks everyone.

Peter asks if it means anything for Wrestlemania that they are not on this show. Sheamus and Cesaro say that they will get the next title match.

Renee asks who would they rather see win.

Sheamus points out that Cesaro is the angry one tonight. Sheamus wouldn’t mind facing both teams because they can beat both teams.

Everyone picks gallows and Anderson to win.

Mick Foley is on the phone with Stephanie and he says he understands that she is delayed. Stephanie says there are huge matches tonight and Jinder Mahal enters the office. Jinder says that he is no longer a team with Rusev. Their future was ruined by Rusev’s attitude. Rusev enters with Lana and Mick comments on Rusev’s new hairdo.

Jinder and Rusev argue about wrestling each other tonight.

Mick suggests a best-of-seven series and everyone says no. Mick then says that he will find opponents for both men and they will decide who wrestles first.

Everyone leaves but Stephanie is still on the phone.

We go to a Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn video package.

Renee asks about how to handle someone like Joe trying to make their name off you. Booker says Joe means business. He has proven himself. Joe did not ask for that fight and Sami called him out.

Samoa Joe is getting prepared for his time in the Social Media Lounge.

Charly Caruso is with Samoa Joe in the Social Media Lounge.

The first question is why did he side with Triple H and attack Seth Rollins. Joe says that Triple H gave him the opportunity in the WWE. That opportunity was to take out Seth Rollins. Why are people mad at him for being able to succeed.

The second question is about how will he destroy Sami Zayn. Joe says he will punish Sami over and over until he cannot get up. Sami showed him no respect and he had to show Sami what happens when you disrespect him.

The final question is What is his plan for Wrestlemania. Joe says his presence will be felt at Wrestlemania. What he does at Wrestlemania will be revealed soon enough.

Renee says that Joe is very methodical and that he has a plan.

We go to footage from Raw when Corey Graves interviewed Seth Rollins.

We will take a look at Seth Rollins’ rehab on tomorrow’s Raw.

We have a video package for the Charlotte Flair and Bayley match for the Women’s Title.

Peter says Bayley’s story touches him, but there is no chance that Charlotte’s streak ends tonight. This is too big a moment and Charlotte steps up every time. Booker says Charlotte is flawless on pay per view, but you cannot put a number on heart. Bayley has the right attitude. Renee asks if Bayley has psyched herself out. Peter says Charlotte is too much and too strong. Booker and Renee both pick Bayley while Peter picks Charlotte.

It is time for our Kickoff Show Match and your announcers are Austin Aries, Michael Cole, and Corey Graves.

Akira Tozawa and Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick and Noam Dar

We go to Austin Aries, Michael Cole and Corey Graves on commentary. Aries says we’re starting off with the main event. He leads us to a video package on his debut in the cruiserweight division. Rich Swann makes his way out first. His partner Akira Tozawa is out next. Brian Kendrick is out first for his team. Noam Dar is out next with Alicia Fox.

Kendrick starts out with Tozawa as fans are still finding their seats. Kendrick immediately tags Dar in. Tozawa takes control but Dar cuts him off. Kendrick comes in for a double team attempt but Swann makes the save. They send their opponents out and go for a double dive but Alicia gets in the way and Swann and Tozawa stop in the ring. We go to a break.

Back from the break and Kendrick is in control of Tozawa. Kendrick with a 2 count. More back and forth between the two teams. Swann and Dar go at it. Swann drops Dar with a big kick.

Tozawa gets the tag as does Kendrick. Tozawa nails Kendrick with a kick. Kendrick rolls Tozawa up for 2. Tozawa comes back and hits a senton for a 2 count. Tozawa goes for the German but Kendrick tags in Dar. Tozawa sends Dar to the floor. Swann tags in and Kendrick gets dumped to the floor. Swann and Tozawa run the ropes and take out their opponents on the floor. Tozawa with a Shining Wizard on Kendrick. Dar with a knee to Tozawa. Swann with a knee to Dar’s head. Fox cheers Dar on. Swann goes to the top but lands on his feet. Dar ends up with a 2 count on Swann. Swann kicks Dar in the mouth. Kendrick runs in and takes a kick as well. Tozawa with the snap German on Kendrick. Swann goes up top and hits a Phoenix Splash for the win.

Winners: Akira Tozawa and Rich Swann

We go back to the panel. They plug the WWE Network and tonight’s show to wrap the Kickoff.
