Triple H on Shinsuke Nakamura’s Main Roster Status, Possible 205 Live, UK and NXT Talent Exchanges, Much More

Triple H conducted an NXT Takeover San Antonio media call today, and below are some newsworthy items from the call:

WWE UK Talents Working For Other Promotions, Blames Other Promoters for Changing Things, News on UK TV Show

On the contractual statuses of WWE UK talents, HHH said the talents are not forbidden to work for promotions outside of WWE as long as those shows are not promoted beyond live events. As for the talents who were recently pulled from UK promotions outside of WWE, Triple H said some promoters were trying to change things and distribute the event, and he has asked that they try and work with WWE. Triple H went on to say there is a lot of confusion about WWE coming into The UK, but it’s on the other promoters who want to do things the way they want.

Triple H said he said the eventual goal is to have a weekly WWE UK TV show.

Triple H noted NXT Takeover San Antonio is officially sold out.

Nakamura’s WWE Main Roster Status

Triple H noted that Nakamura is currently anchoring WWE NXT at the age of 37, and while he could be on the WWE main roster, there are a lot of components which come into play.

Triple H explained there is a learning curve when you come into WWE and NXT, and he added when Nakamura came in he had no real experience working on a TV show which is what WWE/NXT is. Triple H said Nakamura needed the experience he has been getting in NXT, and now it’s just matter of time for when Nakamura fits into the WWE main roster. He added it’s not a matter of IF, it’s WHEN.

Possible 205 Live, UK and NXT Talent Exchanges

Triple H also talked about WWE 205 Live, NXT and a possible WWE UK TV show, and said that fans might see 205 live talents migrate to WWE UK content, or UK talents migrate over to NXT. Triple H added that type of talent exchange opens the possibility for talents to move around.

News on Matt Riddle in WWE

Triple H praised current EVOLVE talent Matt Riddle, and said Riddle “has a bright future”. Triple H confirmed Riddle did have a WWE tryout awhile back, but noted he still needed time to prove there was more to him than just promise.

AJ Styles Says Incoming WWE Talents Should Spend Time in NXT

Triple H said AJ Styles told him he thinks all incoming WWE talents should first spend some time in NXT.

Styles added he thinks it’s helpful for talents to train in NXT to make the necessary adjustments needed for a career in WWE. Styles went as far as to say that him coming directly to the WWE main roster shouldn’t happen, because no matter how experienced you are, talents need adjusting to WWE.
