John Cena got upset when he found out that Goldberg was returning to WWE. While he has nothing personal against Goldberg, Cena feels his dedication to WWE is being taken for granted by Vince McMahon.
Cena’s unhappiness boils down to Goldberg and Brock Lesnar being paid big money for a very limited schedule. Cena believes he should be treated in the same manner by McMahon. We noted earlier that WWE was paying Cena around $10 million a year for a semi-full-time schedule, while Lesnar is making around $6-8 million a year working very few dates with the company. There is no indication on how much Goldberg is being paid, but Goldberg appears to be very happy with what the company is offering him per appearance.
While the company feels there is no real danger of Cena leaving the company, Vince McMahon reportedly told his creative team to brainstorm other opponents for Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 in case there’s an issue with Cena.
