WWE RAW RESULTS – OCTOBER 3, 2016

We are in Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton.

Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring.Roman says his bloodline has been represented in the WWE for a long time, but they never had anyone win the United States Championship… until now.  That is because he is THE GUY.  He comes out here and he represents his family on a nightly basis.

Lana’s music plays and she makes her way onto the stage and then she walks to the ring.

Lana tells Roman she came out here to talk to him, but her husband does not know. Roman says they are in LA and there are cameras everywhere. He says Rusev knows where she is because she is the only woman who would talk to him. Lana says they are negotiating tonight. She says her husband is challenging Roman to a match for the United States Championship. Roman says it sounds like Rusev sent her out to do his dirty work while he hides behind her skirt.

Lana says Rusev is her family. She says that Roman does not know about family and he has zero respect. You came out and tried to destroy her wedding celebration. She tells Roman to wipe the smile off his face and she calls him a stupid boy. Lana says this is not funny and this is not a joke. Lana says she will embarrass Roman and win the title back.

Roman says Lana needs to relax. He tells her to go to the back and deliver to her husband his Bulgarian balls and tell him to come out and say it to his face. Lana tells Roman to go to hell.

Rusev’s music plays and they battle in the aisle. Rusev and Roman run each other into the ringside barrier while they exchange punches. Roman sends Rusev into the ring and Roman sets for the Superman punch but Rusev catches Roman and runs him into the turnbuckles. Rusev with punches and knees. Rusev misses the jumping thrust kick and Roman with a punch. Rusev goes to the floor and Roman goes for the Superman punch off the ring steps and Rusev connects with a round kick. Rusev sends Roman into the ring steps and then he kicks Roman into the crowd.

Rusev grabs the United States Title Belt. Rusev goes up the ramp to the back and Reigns comes out and hits a Superman punch. Roman tells Lana if she wants him to go to hell, he is taking them both with him. The rematch will take place inside Hell in a Cell.

Backstage:

TJ Perkins says he sacrificed everything for this business. He mentions he was homeless for a period of time. He says this was all he had. We see Perkins retaining the Cruiserweight Title at Clash of Champions. We also see the post match attack by Kendrick.

Kendrick asks if TJ has sacrificed more than he has. We see Kendrick confronting Perkins last week on Raw. We go to commercial.

Non Title Match: TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick

Perkins reluctantly shakes Kendrick’s hand and then he drop kicks Kendrick and teaches a dive to the floor but stays in the ring. Perkins with a back body drop and European uppercut. Perkins with a springboard cross body and punches. Perkins hangs in the ropes and Kendrick charges and he goes to the floor when Perkins moves. Perkins with a baseball slide and he skins the cat when Kendrick charges and Kendrick goes into the apron. Perkins with a slingshot corkscrew pescado. Perkins misses a swanton and runs into a super kick.

Kendrick pulls off the wrap on the turnbuckle and puts Perkins’ hand in the turnbuckle and Kendrick stands on the hand before hitting a neck breaker while Perkins’ hand is still in the turnbuckle. We go to commercial.

We are back and Kendrick moves when Perkins runs into the corner. Perkins with a rana and both men are down. Perkins with a reverse atomic drop and a jumping round kick. Perkins with another head scissors followed by a gutbuster onto the knees and Perkins with a knee bar but Kendrick gets to the ropes. Kendrick with a kick and flatline into the turnbuckles. Kendrick with Sliced Bread #2 but Perkins is able to kick out. Kendrick with the Bully Choke. Kendrick tries to roll back into the center of the ring when Perkins gets close to the ropes and Perkins with a near fall on a rollup.

Perkins with a kick followed by a drop toe hold and a slingshot drop kick. Kendrick with a rake of the eyes and Perkins applies the Bully Choke again. Perkins has to tap out.

Winner: Brian Kendrick

Interview With Seth Rollins:

We are back and we take a look at an interview taped earlier with Seth Rollins. Seth is asked about the ribs and he says he was cleared to wrestle, but they told him to rest. He was told not to be at Raw, but he is here. Cole is interrupted and Seth says Kevin Owens may have won the match, but he was handed the title by Triple H. He deserves a rematch after what happened at Clash of Champions.

Cole brings up that people compare Owens’ rise to Seth’s. Seth says he has alienated a lot of people in the locker room. They have both had success but Kevin does half the work and gets the promotion. He is the teacher’s pet. Triple H handed Kevin the Universal Title. He was not handed anything when he cashed in the briefcase at Wrestlemania. Everyone has a Kevin Owens in their lives, but he has THE Kevin Owens in his life.

Cole asks Seth about being replaced by Kevin Owens in the friendship with Triple H. Seth says you cannot replace Seth Rollins. Kevin is a cog in the matchine. Seth says his eyes are wide open and he sees things differently. He will destroy that machine piece by piece. It starts with Kevin Owens and the Universal title. Cole asks how things will occur if he gets his title match. Seth says he had Kevin beaten but then the referee gets knocked out. Stephanie takes her time bringing a referee to the ring. The forces are against him. Things will play out with Seth Rollins canceling the Kevin Owens Show. He will prove to the world that he is the man. Back to commercial.

– We are back and Byron Saxton is with Braun’s opponent and he wants to know why he accepted this match. Chase Silver says he just moved from Idaho and your dreams can come true here. Chase says he had a dream he beat Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman vs. Chase Silver

Silver with a kick and punches but Strowman with a shoulder tackle. Silver hits Strowman from behind and Strowman kicks Silver across the ring. Strowman with a splash into the corner followed by another splash in the corner. Strowman with a running shoulder tackle that sends Silver across the ring. Strowman picks up Silver and hits a power slam for the three count.

Winner: Braun Strowman

After the match, Byron Saxton asks Braun what is next. Strowman says he is the gift of destruction and you are wasting his talent on weak fools week in and week out. He tells Byron to tell Foley he wants competition next week or there might not be a next week.

Backstage:

Sasha Banks is stretching in the back and Bayley stops by. Bayley says she cannot believe that Sasha and Charlotte are in the main event tonight. It is Trish and Lita territory. Sasha says it is more about the main event. It is about winning back her title. She says if she listened to the critics, she would not be in LA and she would not have a chance at being a two time champion. Bayley says she cannot think of a more deserving person for the spotlight than Sasha. Sasha says she will earn her place in history by winning the title tonight. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We go to the ring and out comes Chris Jericho with WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Owens cuts a promo on Seth Rollins, saying Michael Cole sucked in their interview. Owens talks about how Rollins lost and doesn’t deserve a rematch. Owens says if Rollins does weasel his way into a rematch, Jericho should be the special referee. Jericho says that’s not a terrible idea but Owens may be thinking a bit short-sighted as he’s had ideas of his own. Jericho realized they’re the best tag team in WWE after their win over Enzo Amore and Big Cass last week. Jericho thinks they should challenge RAW Tag Team Champions The New Day. Fans chant “yes!” and Jericho tells them to shut up.

Owens thinks Jeri-KO as champions sounds amazing but Cesaro and Sheamus already have a title shot lined up. More back and forth with Jericho trying to convince Owens. Jericho says it’s not like he’s asking Owens for a shot at his title. Fans pop and chant for Jericho. Owens gets onboard with the tag title idea. The music hits and out come The New Day.

Kofi Kingston says he, Big E and Xavier Woods have the best friendship in WWE. Jericho adds them to The List. The two teams trade shots and Woods makes a joke on Owens’ weight. The New Day says Owens and Jericho can have a match but it will have to wait because Jericho and Owens aren’t dressed to wrestle.

– We see video from earlier today where Sheamus and Cesaro arrived together arguing.

Sami Zayn vs. Titus O’Neil

A pre-taped interview is shown with Titus O’Neil. O’Neil says the Titus Brand is taking over everything. Everything is Titus and Titus is everything. #MakeItAWin

The bell rings, and O’Neil powers him to the corner. Zayn ducks a right hand and applies a side headlock. Zayn springboards over him and chops him before O’Neil punches him. O’Neil puts him on the apron, but Zayn comes back with a shoulder to the midsection. Zayn slingshots into the ring and goes for a cross-body, but O’Neil catches him and hits some rib-breakers before throwing him down. O’Neil chops the chest and forearms the back. O’Neil viciously whips him into the corner and mocks him. O’Neil applies a bear hug, but Zayn punches out. O’Neil quickly gets him over his shoulder and connects with a modified backbreaker. O’Neil talks some trash and slaps him. O’Neil hits the ropes, and Zayn gives him a stiff clothesline. Zayn catches him with an exploder suplex into the corner. Zayn follows up with the Helluva Kick for the win.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Backstage:

Sheamus and Cesaro are fighting about being late to the show. Cesaro says Sheamus was driving. Sheamus says Cesaro guided them into rush hour traffic. Mick Foley walks up to them and says he was thoroughly humbled by Stephanie McMahon last week and now has a vague Braun Strowman threat hanging over him. He had them ride together to get them to be on the same page. Last week, they won, but they weren’t on the same page. Foley orders them to get on the same page.

Goldust and R-Truth vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

A pre-taped promo is shown with Anderson and Gallows. Karl Anderson says The New Day has ruined the tag team division. Luke Gallows says they’ll push the clown car off the cliff.

Karl Anderson will start the match against R-Truth. R-Truth does a dance, ducks a clothesline, and connects with a hip toss. Goldust is tagged in, and they hit a double-team leg sweep. Goldust drops a forearm and wrenches the arm. Anderson knees Goldust in the midsection and lowers his head, but Goldust drops down and uppercuts him. Goldust ducks a clothesline and clotheslines him before hitting an arm drag. Anderson powers him to the corner, but Goldust punches out. Anderson takes him down and tags in Luke Gallows. Gallows viciously punches away at Goldust and kicks him down for a near fall. Gallows elbows him in the chest a few times before applying a chin lock. Goldust fights up, but Gallows knees him in the midsection and punches out. Goldust then hits a snap powerslam.

Anderson and R-Truth are tagged in. R-Truth hits a pair of clotheslines and a jumping heel kick. R-Truth does a split and kicks him before hitting a Scissor Kick. Gallows breaks up the pin and knocks Goldust off the apron. Anderson powers R-Truth to the corner and tags in Gallows. Gallows kicks R-Truth, and they hit the Magic Killer for the win.

Winners: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

After the match, Anderson and Gallows stand tall as we get replays. Goldust comes in to check on Truth but Anderson kicks him and sends him into a big boot from Gallows. They hit Goldust with Magic Killer and leave him laying.

Backstage:

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho are walking backstage when they bump into Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson. They argue about which pair are the better friends before taking “The List of Jericho” and reading some embarrassing things off it, particularly losing to Fandango at WrestleMania. Owens walks off and says “That 70s Show” would’ve been better with them. Kutcher says they’ll be at ringside for their match. Jericho warns them not to get involved in their business otherwise they’ll get… IT!. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

Enzo and Big Cass are in the ring with some breast cancer survivors. There’s a table in the ring with a pink cover on it hiding something. A “How you doin’” chant breaks out. Enzo goes through his normal shtick. Big Cass says they’re here to talk about a very real situation, which is something near and dear to their hearts. This is the fifth year that WWE and Susan G. Komen have teamed up in the fight against breast cancer. Enzo says WWE and Susan “Certified G” Komen had a contest in March. Those women that were nominated are in the in the ring. We got a couple of “winnas” in the ring. Gina Foreman, Kelly Sherman, and Angelica Frye are survivors. These are the women in the ring with them. You can see these women all month long as they share their stories with all of them. Enzo says it’s a spoiler alert that these women have already won their fight against breast cancer. These women are champions. The way they honor champions in WWE is by giving them titles. Enzo pulls the blanket off, but the titles are tangled up in them. They hand them the titles and put them over big. The crowd gives them a great reception. Big Cass says one word doesn’t describe the women in this ring and he’ll spell it out for them: S-A-W-F-T. Back to commercial.

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens vs. Big E and Xavier Woods

Jericho and Woods start things off and Jericho with a chop. Owens tags in and he slams Woods and jumps over him. Owens with punches but Woods punches back. Jericho tags in and he kicks Woods. Jericho with another kick but Woods with a boot and Honor Roll for a near fall. Jericho retreats to his corner and Owens tags in. Owens wants Big E in and Owens attacks Big E as he comes in. Big E with a flying shoulder tackle.

Big E punches Owens and follows with an Irish whip and shoulder into the corner. Big E with another Irish whip but he misses a shoulder when Owens moves. Jericho tags in and punches and chokes Big E. Jericho slaps Big E but Big E slaps back. Jericho with a drop kick.

Jericho distracts the referee while talking to Woods and that allows Owens to choke Big E. Jericho with forearms and he goes to the turnbuckles. Big E punches Jericho in the midsection as he comes off the turnbuckles. Owens tags in and he mocks Woods and then he hits a cannonball. Owens gets a near fall. Owens with a back senton for a near fall. We go to commercial.

We are back and Big E with a clothesline. Woods tags in and hits a jumping knee followed by a clothesline. Woods with a hesitation drop kick to the back and then he drop kicks Jericho off the apron. Owens with a gutbuster for a near fall. Owens with a kick. Owens with another kick to the back and then he kicks Woods one more time. Owens with a reverse chin lock. Woods punches Owens but Owens keeps Woods from making the tag and he hits a short arm clothesline and he fakes reaching for the tag before kicking Woods. Jericho tags in and he sends Woods into the turnbuckles.

Jericho with an Irish whip and clothesline into the corner. Jericho puts Woods on the turnbuckles and Jericho chops Woods. Jericho goes for a superplex but Woods blocks it and sends Jericho to the mat. Woods with a cross body for a near fall. Owens tags in and keeps Woods from making the tag and he hits a DDT for a near fall.

Seth Rollins’ music plays and he comes to the stage. Owens is distracted and that allows Woods to hit an enzuigiri. Jericho and Big E tag in and Big E with two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes. Jericho with a kick and he is sent over the top rope but Jericho lands on the apron and he goes up top. Big E catches Jericho and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Owens with a super kick and then Owens is sent to the floor. Woods with a plancha as Jericho gets a near fall with a rollup. Big E with an elbow and splash. Woods tags in and Owens drops Big E on the top rope. Woods with an enzuigiri to Owens. Jericho with the Walls of Jericho but Rollins runs to the ring to distract Jericho. Big E tags in and they hit the Midnight Hour for the three count.

Winners: Big E and Xavier Woods

After the match, Rollins picks up Jericho and hits a Pedigree.

Backstage:

Tom Phillips is with Dana Brooke and Charlotte. Tom asks Charlotte if she has any butterflies about this match. Charlotte says it is not a catchphrase when she talks about being the most genetically fit person in the locker room. She has proven time over time that when the title is on the line, she is at her best. She was born for these moments. Sasha has butterflies because Charlotte will expose her shortcomings. She will prove that she has no equals. Charlotte says that Sasha can talk about making history, but after tonight, she will be history.

We take a look at Rich Swann. He says you will join a party that will last all night long. He says he is motivated to give the people what they want and that is entertainment. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Seth Rollins is walking in the back and Stephanie McMahon wants to know what Seth is doing. She tells him he is not cleared to wrestle. Seth says he is not going to listen to Stepahnie any more. Stephanie agrees with Seth that he is all alone. There is no Shield and no Authority. You will not last long. You will prove that you are replaceable just like everybody else. Seth says Stephanie lost the privilege to tell him what to do when your husband stabbed him in the back. He says that was the second biggest mistake Hunter did. Stephanie asks what is the worst decision he made and Seth says it was him marrying Stephanie. Seth tells Stephanie that if he does not get his rematch, he will burn Raw to the ground and he will take Kevin down with him.

Rich Swann vs. Tony Nese

Tony Nese says the WWE Universe loves Rich Swann and his dancing. Tony points out he is the greatest hybrid wrestler. Maybe he should twerk, but Rich Swann will have to keep up with him tonight.

Swann teases a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock but then he uses that to dance. Swann with a side head lock and Nese tosses Swann away. Nese with a shoulder tackle. Swann flips over Nese and hits a drop kick. Swann with an Irish whip but Nese with an elbow. Nese leaps over Swann and lands on his feet and hits a series of kicks. Swann lands on his feet and connects with an elbow. Swann with a head scissors take down. Nese with a round kick to the back of the head when the referee pulled Swann out of the corner. Nese with kicks to Swann. Nese with a knee. Swann goes for a sunset flip but Nese does not go over and he kicks Swann and then hits a series of cross faces for a near fall.

Nese with a body scissors. Swann with punches and Nese with an Irish whip. Swann with a kick and elbow. Nese misses a splash and Swann runs into the corner. Swann with a jumping rana when Nese goes to the turnbuckles. Swann with clotheslines and a back heel kick and a double stomp to the back for a near fall. Nese sends Swann into the ropes after Swann goes for a handspring move. Nese hits a pump handle driver for the three count.

Winner: Tony Nese

– Sheamus and Cesaro walk in the back as we go to commercial.

– We are back and Emma will be back soon as Emmalina.

Cesaro and Sheamus vs. Raul White and Mark Carradine

Cesaro starts off with White and Cesaro with a suplex and running European uppercut. Sheamus tags in and he connects with forearms and a suplex throw. Sheamus sends White into the corner and connects with a shoulder. Cesaro tags in and White goes for a sunset flip but Cesaro stays on his feet and hits a double stomp. Sheamus tags in and he gives Carradine a clothesline and then a uranage back breaker. Sheamus sets for a cloverleaf but Cesaro leaps off Sheamus’ back for a DDT on White. Sheamus with a Brogue Kick for the three count.

Winners: Cesaro and Sheamus

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back with a video package about the Women’s Title Match. We see them together in NXT as the BFFs. Charlotte points out there is only one title. The difference between them is that she is genetically superior. Sasha will never beat her. Sasha says she taught Charlotte everything. Charlotte says Sasha can say she taught her everything, but that is not true.

Charlotte and Dana Brooke walk in the back and she stops by Bayley who is in the same hallway. Charlotte tells Bayley to have a seat and watch the main event. She tells Bayley that some day she will be able to graduate Camp WWE. Bayley tells Charlotte not to be too cocky. Charlotte says she has to main event.

Charlotte walks away and Dana stays there and tells Little Miss Bayley not to cry when Charlotte breaks Sasha in half again. She pats Bayley on the had and tells her playtime is over. Bayley pushes Dana away and then Dana pushes Bayley against the wall and Bayley pushes Dana into one of the cases and Dana is down.

WWE RAW Women’s Title: Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks

We go to the ring and out comes Sasha Banks for her match against Charlotte. But first, we go to commercial. Back from the break and Charlotte is next. We get the formal introduction from JoJo and we are ready to go.

They lock up and Charlotte sends Sasha to the mat and then she goes for the figure four but she kicks Charlotte to the floor. Charlotte stops Sasha on a suicide dive but Sasha is able to connect on the second attempt and we go to commercial once again…

We are back and Charlotte stretches Sasha. We see footage of Charlotte pulling Sasha off the turnbuckles during the commercial break and then Charlotte sending Sasha into the ringside barrier. Charlotte pulls Sasha to the mat by the hair and Charlotte gets a near fall. Charlotte with a forearm to the lower back and then she stretches Sasha in the ropes using the hair. Charlotte with a near fall. Charlotte with a back breaker and she stretches Sasha over her knee. Sasha with knees to get out of the hold. Sasha with punches but Charlotte with another back breaker.

Charlotte misses a shoulder in the corner and she hits the turnbuckles. The referee checks on Sasha. Sasha with clotheslines and a drop kick. Charlotte has a kick blocked and Sasha with a kick and Meteora for a near fall. Sasha with a head scissors that sends Charlotte to the floor and Sasha with a baseball slide. Sasha goes to the apron but misses a kick. Charlotte pulls Sasha off the apron and tries for a back breaker on the apron but Sasha is able to avoid the full impact of the move. Charlotte gets a near fall. Charlotte goes for a figure four leg lock but Sasha goes for a rollup. Charlotte misses a boot and Sasha with a double knee strike into the corner.

Sasha is sent to the apron but she sends Charlotte into the turnbuckles. Sasha goes up top and Charlotte knocks Sasha off the turnbuckles and then kicks Sasha into the turnbuckles followed by another boot to the head for a near fall. Charlotte with chops. Charlotte puts Sasha on the turnbuckles for a superplex but Sasha blocks it. Sasha knocks Charlotte to the mat and Sasha with Meteora from the turnbuckles for a near fall. Sasha goes for a lungblower but Charlotte is on the ropes and she sends Sasha to the floor. Charlotte goes to the apron and she goes up top for the moonsault and she hits a corkscrew moonsault and then she sends Sasha back into the ring.

Charlotte with Natural Selection but Sasha kicks out at two. Charlotte slaps Sasha repeatedly as she tells Sasha to stay down. Charlotte wtih another slap but Sasha with a satellite into Banks Statement. Charlotte tries to roll through but Sasha holds on and Charlotte taps out.

Winner and NEW WWE RAW Women’s Champion: Sasha Banks

After the match, Sasha celebrates with the title as Charlotte rants about it being her title. We get replays. RAW goes off the air with the new Women’s Champion celebrating.
