It's alleged that the 24 year old hit his pregnant girlfriend Jillian Gilman, who appeared in court today with his parents. Judge Stephen Abany ordered Jean-Jacques held without bail at the local Middleton jail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Tuesday. Jean-Jacques was said to be on the verge of tears as he faced the judge today. His family told the judge they have retained Boston defense attorney Edward Harrington to represent their son but today he was represented by public defender Courtney Joy Wednesday. His mother asked the judge to release her son to their care, as he is scheduled to undergo surgery this week, but the judge denied the request.
Jean-Jacques, a former collegiate wrestler at the University of Iowa and later Rhode Island College, was signed to a WWE NXT developmental deal in April of this year and has been training at the WWE Performance Center. He has since been suspended.
WWE confirmed the suspension to Prowrestling.net with this statement:
"We have zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Terrance Jean-Jacques has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."
