Mr. Anderson Says Billy Corgan Is ‘The Best Thing To Happen To TNA In A Long Time,’ Talks His School

Former WWE and TNA star Ken Anderson recently spoke with WhatCulture and below are some interview highlights:

On opening his own wrestling school:

“I was at TNA, and I had gone on and done some independent shows and I was kind of surprised by how bad a lot of the guys were. There were always one or two guys on the card that really stood out, and they were head and shoulders above everybody else. I would say to myself, ‘that’s not their fault. They didn’t know any better when they signed up for wrestling school. They didn’t know that their trainer didn’t really know what they were doing. So here are these people who are spending all this money to go to wrestling school, and they’re not actually getting an education. It’s like thinking that you’re going to Harvard, and you’re going to somebody’s basement and the guy isn’t educated himself. He’s got a third grade education. That’s the way I looked at it. I just wanted to have a place where everybody could come learn, and it would be a fun, positive environment.”

The power struggle between Billy Corgan and Dixie Carter:

“I just want what’s best for my friends, what’s best for the business. I think Billy Corgan is one of the best things to ever happen to TNA in a long time. I personally loved working with him. He was creative, he allowed me to be creative. He was in charge of the storyline that I had with Bram in TNA. We all worked together, and we all contributed to that storyline, and I think that’s the way this business should work; how the creative process should work. I hope the best happens, and I think that Billy Corgan being a huge part of that equation is a positive. It’s a good thing.”
